Five years ago, we decided to refinance our mortgage. We contacted our bank, a well-known national financial institution. After a positive and friendly first discussion over the phone with its Los Angeles-based representative, the paperwork was then sent to another person in its New York office. As the process dragged on, we became increasingly frustrated by the lack of response, and then inaccurate information, from its New York office. We had to contact supervisors to keep the process going.
After perhaps four months, we were finally given a deadline for the closing. We had already identified a Moorestown Title company for that purpose. But the bank missed the deadline for getting papers to the Title company. It was then that we asked the Title company if they knew anyone "local" with whom we could do the refinancing. They gave us only one name: "Barbara Gallagher. She's the best:"
We met Barbara a few days later. We knew we were in the presence not only of a compassionate person, but also a professional who knew her business well. She saved us the substantial closing costs required upfront by the prior bank, and the new lender she chose gave us almost that same amount at closing! Also, the interest rate was lower than the bank's! Barbara answered every one of our questions fully, was at the closing, and has continued to be in touch with us in various ways ever since.
Barbara is "the best."
