On Saturday 4/10/2021 visited a home for rent located at:…read more 18 S Academy Ave Glenolden, PA 19036 The home is listed for rent at $1600 per month and the open house was scheduled for showing at 1:00 PM EST but the real estate agent, Brenden Stewart, didn't show up until 1:30 PM The house was completely remodeled inside and very nice so my wife and I completed applications for renting the property, on Sunday 4/11/2021, through a website called RentSpree. We paid $30.00 for each application for a total of $60.00. Yesterday, Monday 4/12/2021, we received an email from Brendan stating that we are the top contender for the property. Since there are a number of applicants for the property the owner now wants to charge $1700 per month and we need to sign a 2 year lease. This agency is involved with owners that engage in unacceptable, and unethical, bait and switch tactics after we filed an application in good faith with the understanding the home would rent for $1600 as clearly advertised. We contacted the main Long and Foster office and they gave the name, number and email address of Brenden Stewarts manager Fran Truax. He seemed uninterested and unconcerned about the bait and switch tactics employed by his real estate agents as well as those the agency works with. Avoid them. There are much better professional, and ethical, real estate agencies available.
