This place is all hype and needs help on execution. When we walked in, we didn't know where to go or what to do. Especially since there was a pizza pop up happening outside. After a little bit of a wait we were finally seated. The food and drink menus are definitely exciting. And the food is delicious don't get me wrong... but if I crave a chicken sandwich... I want something to bite into. I couldn't do that with this sandwich. The bottom bun was soggy and there were two massive chicken thighs in between the buns. Again... don't get me wrong here. I love the serving size of the two juicy, crunchy chicken thighs.... But I also LOVE biting into a chicken sandwich tasting the the ingredients - chicken, pickles, sauce, soft bun - all at once. I definitely couldn't do that here. The salad dressing was great and added to the sweetness of the sauce from the sandwich. However I needed some freshness or tartness to break through the heaviness of the chicken. A little bit of one note for me. We didn't try any drinks except for the vintage cola. (We already had our coffee run earlier that day) However, we did takeaway a glazed donut and brioche Cinnabon. Just ate them and they were both ok. Seemed like the same batter, just treated differently. Not anything worth drooling over. All in all... there's SO much potential here. Such a cute spot! Stopped in a couple weeks ago since I was in the area and was not disappointed. Walking in and asking for a table was a little awkward. I wasn't sure if I had to tell someone if I was planning on eating there or what their procedure was. I tried to make eye contact with one of the waiters and that person kind of just looked at me and avoided making eye contact back with me. I actually almost left because I felt unwanted and awkward just standing there. Eventually a waitress approached asking if there was anything she can help me with, and the rest is history. She gave amazing advice for food recommendations and even drinks as well! Everything tasted fresh and flavorful. What I ordered: The shaken Expresso (Which was AMAZING!) Chicken Fajita wrap with a side salad Caponata Toast which was very rich and the eggplant complimented the ricotta very well. I made sure to grab a couple sweets from the bakery and wow!!! I met up with a friend here for brunch on Saturday. It's a super cute location but smaller than I thought it would be. Even so, we were able to put our name down inside waited only about 15-20 minutes outside before we were seated. It was a beautiful day out so we definitely didn't mind. They only complaint is that the parking lot is also pretty small so there were actually people who had to park on the side of road (kinda unsafe). I wish that they will reservations so this might not be much of an issue with parking and waiting. What we ordered: - COCONUT MATCHA LATTE (sunlife organic ceremonial matcha, coconut syrup, AU honey, choice of milk): my friend ordered this and she said it was tasty but sweeter than she thought he would be. It's also very cool looking. - CAMPFIRE HOT CHOCOLATE (chocolate sauce, vanilla, choice of milk, topped with whipped cream, marshmallows, and chocolate drizzle): so good, they were able to even make it with oat milk which I really appreciated - PARMESAN & HERB STEAK FRIES: they were alright, nothing on them, I just prefer a crispy fry and these since they are thick steak fries they missed the mark for me - LADY CAKES (fluffy vanilla ricotta pancakes topped with burnt honey butter, daily selection of fruits, lady finger streusel and powdered sugar): it was a treat! I visited Almost Home once with my toddler daughter for lunch. We went during lunch time, and it was very busy. We found a table by the wall, and waited awhile for a server. I ordered the roast beef sandwich for myself, and my daughter got the egg and cheese on a brioche bun off of the kids menu. The kids meal was delicious. Everything was fresh, and of nice size. It did not come with any sides or a drink. The roast beef sandwich was very good. However, for $18.95 it was very small. I order sandwiches from Tuscany, and other special markets and their sandwiches are twice the size and just as gourmet. I would not go back here solely because of the prices. read more

Cute brunch/breakfast spot but very small and very long waits if you're not here early (around 8am) to grab a seat. I've come here around 3 times now and each time it's been over an hour wait for a group of 2, forget a group of 3-4. I once had to leave after about a 2 hour wait for a group of 3 because we were going to miss a train. Moral of the story, it's not too bad for a group of 2, almost impossible for a group of 3 or more on the weekends if you come past 8 am. It would be one thing if you could call ahead and make reservations, or if they would take down your number and call you later, but I find the staff are pretty dismissive and do not keep waiting guests well informed on wait times nor care to. There is not much of a waiting area either and they tend to try to shove you outside or cramped against the door to wait for hours. The food is a bit pricey and just okay to me. If you can get past the long waits and/or get there early to enjoy the atmosphere of the restaurant I think it can be worth it. I will say that the coffee drink menu is very diverse and creative and I am glad that it works as a to-go cafe or I probably would not come here much otherwise. read more

Stopped here to eat after going to the farm across the street. Small quaint place with very friendly staff. We were seated right away and they bring you water in a bottle with mason jars. The water was room temp and I would have preferred it to be cold. But that's ok. Such a fun find after my walk with a friend at holmdel park. Super cute place, with a very appetizing menu, all of the cookies and pastries looked outstanding. I ordered a latte with almond milk which is pretty basic, but it is the best one I've ever had, ordered the grains and greens salad, which was amazing, my friend ordered the duck Benedict which she said was unbelievable and I also took home a oatmeal cream pie, which quite honestly is the best cookie I have ever eaten in my entire life. This place is a must to visit. I can't imagine there's anything bad on the menu. This is now going to be our go to place after our meet ups at the park. OMG! Deliberately stopped over for Saturday lunch on a trip from NYC to Cape May and disappointed-- that this was not closer to us! The smell of the restaurant was so comforting and intoxicating and the food was the same. Everything we got was delicious and well balanced - Chorizo Biscuit, Almost Home plate, PORK PEC - and splurged on decadent Banana bread griddle and Red Eye cinnamon roll. My daughter found this place on Yelp and we decided to give it a try. It's a cute little spot off the beaten path. They were pretty busy when we arrived we had to wait for 45 minutes . For starts we got an order of these delicious donut holes lightly dusted in a cinnamon sugar ( loved the texture) and a cinnamon roll( was a tad dryer then I'm use to but good flavor) I also ordered the tomato soup so good ( thick , creamy and full of flavor but side note it definitely needs to be serve with some croutons ,crostini or small piece of baguette). My oldest daughter ordered the special the drunken Roni which was delicious the focaccia bread had the perfect crisp and the arugula salad was a nice touch ( loved the dressing ) . My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich OMG!! The Asian flavors drizzled over the chicken was delicious but this sandwich got a bit messy ( slight suggestion maybe using bibb lettuce instead of romaine the chicken slid right off the bread as soon as you tried to bite it ) and the home made taters were delicious. Now my youngest ordered the French toast which was delicious as well the challah bread was cooked to perfection accompanied with mascarpone cream and fresh fruits . I found them from Yelp and they had some good reviews so I decided to try it myself. pro: everyone seems to be cooked onsite, they have a lot of coffee drinks, and they have healthy options. cons: They have a limited donut selection and it's also not available daily. They don't offer biscuits to the table when you sit ( which is fine, but a big selling point if you go into southern eateries this one seems inspired by); the tables are tight and limited amounts; the food takes long to come out; the flavors where decent but not perfected yet. All in all, this place is new and seems to be starting off well and they seem trendy during my visit with the amount of people who kept coming inside to wait. read more

Feels Like Something Is Missing... What I found odd at first; They have two websites different with two different menus. The menu you see in pictures on Yelp is incorrect (almosthomecoffee.com) and the new menu (almosthomegeneral.com) in my opinion is lackluster. I have a feeling they are in some sort of transition with chefs or maybe the pandemic hit them hard but it's obvious this place is not what it once was. The quality of food and the price point was uncomprehending. Roast beef sandwich: good in regards to edible but the quality and flavor reminds me of something I can grab at WaWa. Grilled chicken BLT: Had so much thick hard cartilage that it was like biting into bone. Had to disassemble sandwich to even find the little meat that was edible. Might have been due to the fact they used dark meat instead of chicken breast. Either way inedible. Root Beer Latte: Out of all the drinks they removed from their original menu this should have been one of them. The overwhelming syrup aftertaste also made this drink inedible. Oat Milk Latte: The best thing we ordered and was an ok latte. I really wanted to love this place. The location is gorgeous and the restaurant gives me dreamy cottage meets farmhouse. We decided to have brunch here to see what the hype is all about. It was packed when we arrived. There is a small parking lot on the premises and off road parking across the street. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The seats and tables are situated thisclose to each other. None of the servers wore masks. This is the first food establishment that I've been to during the pandemic where the food servers are not wearing masks. In our time there waiting for our food, we saw two waiters sneezing. Two other waiters scratching themselves. One guy scratching his face and beard. Another guy scratching his nose and his face overall. I almost got up and walked out between the long wait and the scratching but I was hungry and already waited a long while at that point...prob 25-30 min wait for our food. I had to edit my review to add that the service is abysmal like many of the other reviews stated. We sat for a while before our waiter showed up. After he took our order, he never came back to check on us in the close to half hour wait for our food. No water refill. No coffee refill. Nothing. After we got our food, he disappeared for the rest of the meal again and we had to flag him down to get our check. It was confusing to me how with so many servers there was still a lack of service. We got two orders of their house speciality: honey chicken sandwich. The sandwich was just ok for both of us. The chicken was fried for too long and was way too hard. The toasted bread was also super hard and difficult to eat. We ended up not eating the bread and picking off the too hard to chew flour off the chicken patty. Everyone else at the place seemed to order the French toast which looked absolutely divine. This is a cute little spot and we really wanted to like this place. The food was ok. We just ordered the wrong dish. The coffee was decent. The music was way too loud and we could hardly even hear each other in conversation. Based on how crowded this place was, others seem to like it. We may give it one more try in the future as their French toast did look delish. Perhaps I'd go as soon as they open in the future at 7am to avoid the crowds. Our usual goto weekend brunch spot is Comfi's. And we will prob continue going to Comfis on a regular basis. This place is SO cute and has a really chill, gardeny feel - something you'd imagine Joanna Gaines to decorate, but a fun DJ to set the vibe for. The outdoor dining looked really nice, too. But the parking is honestly pretty horrible - limited in the parking lot, and the street it's on becomes overrun with others parking. I was parked about 15 cars-length down a side street, which felt excessive for a lunch crowd! I had the fried chicken sandwich which was good, and a cucumber mint lemonade which was amazing... but the polenta fries left something to be desired. I thought they were dry and gritty and ended up not eating them. But, my friend and I finished lunch by sharing one of their housemade chocolate chip cookies and that was very tasty. And if you don't believe me on portion size, just check my photo of the meatloaf sandwich, which when paired with a soup (amazing tomato soup BTW) ran me under $20. Worst wait time management. Went there and was told 30-40 mins wait time so i gave down my name. After 30 mins I checked and the girl on front desk said may be another 20 mins. So I ordered from here today via GrubHub and got a buffalo chicken caesar wrap. When I tell you this was the best Caesar wrap I've ever had in my life I'm not joking. Remember, this was delivered via GrubHub, so I was expecting it to be soggy and it absolutely was not. The wrap was soft yet crunchy and the chicken had the perfect crisp. It was unreal. Wife finally told her husband to move it and he went outside. Manager followed him out and continued speaking to him. How can a manager be so ignorant to what is happening on his restaurant and not hold up tables for his own conversation. No food is so great that this treatment is acceptable. I have stumbled across Rob Doran's instagram a few months back through following Devon Levesque and he seems like the coolest guy and runs an insane restaurant.
