    Hazelnut Latte and Especial!
    Braden B.

Checked this place out during their soft launch. Was super excited to see them coming to town and bringing some Peruvian Culture with it. Their Hazelnut soy latte was super good. Husband loved his especial drink. Definite will be coming back. Super affordable and a welcoming atmosphere. Two owners are super nice!

And yes, there will be a next time. I ordered the 1/4 chicken platter that came with fries and a salad. The chicken leg was cooked perfectly. The seasonings were well balanced and delicious. Nice to find a place to get pollo à la brasa in the area. The fries were hand cut and perfectly cooked. The side salad was a nice size. I had enough fries and salad leftover for the next day. I tried some of the yucca huancain and it was good. The yucca seemed overcooked. The sauce was a little too thick. It may be because it was take out so the dish got cold. The flavors were on point but the texture not so much. The purple corn drink was so unique. I never had it before but highly recommend it!! I can't even explain it. Not super sweet and a hint of fruit. The sweet potato donuts lacked flavor but the dipping sauce helped. The flan was my favorite. It was thicker and creamier than I'm used to and really enjoyed it.

The food was seasoned so well (and not overly done for those salt sensitive people like my mom). The chicken was very moist yet the skin was wonderfully crispy. The fish tasted very fresh. It tastes good with or without the lime juice. I would definitely come here again! Ps. It's a casual spot but they do have seating although a lot customers did take out.

The restaurant was nearly empty, with only one other couple dining at the time. Shortly after we sat down, I noticed one of the cooks open the front door of the restaurant, look directly at us, throw his hands up in frustration, and begin mumbling under his breath. He then started moving large boxes into the restaurant. Since I speak Spanish, I understood some of what he was saying. He complained that there were plenty of other seats available and questioned why we had chosen to sit where we were. As I looked more closely, I realized the mirrors beside our table were actually sliding doors to a storage area. It became clear that he was upset because my wife and I were seated in front of it. Had someone simply approached us and politely asked us to move, we would have gladly done so. Instead, the cook continued making comments under his breath and staring at us while moving boxes. Once he finished, he walked past our table, gave me a dirty look, and called me a vulgar name in Spanish ( cara de mierda). At that point, I stood up and asked him, in Spanish, to repeat what he had said. Rather than addressing the situation, he immediately walked into the kitchen and refused to come back out. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable having my food prepared by someone who had just openly insulted me and my pregnant wife. We decided to leave without ordering. This was especially disappointing because we have visited before and always enjoyed the restaurant. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled was completely unprofessional and has likely cost them two longtime customers.

The menu is a fantastic blend of authentic Peruvian flavors with distinct Japanese and Chinese influences that make this cuisine so unique. The atmosphere is modest, warm, and incredibly welcoming, and our server was absolutely terrific. I had the Bistec a la Pobre ($22) -- a perfectly-marinated hanger steak served over generous portions of french fries, white rice topped with a freshly fried egg, and a side of grilled sweet plantains. YUM! The flavors were absolutely spot on. My dining companion loved her Pollo Saltado ($19) -- a generous portion of tender, boneless marinated chicken sauteed with onion, peppers, and tomato served over french fries with a side of white rice. We will definitely be back! PRO TIP #1: Bring a bottle of wine or beer from home to enjoy with your meal. Peru Chikann is a BYOB establishment and does not serve alcohol. PRO TIP #2: Bring cash. Peru Chikann has added a surcharge for using credit cards to pay for your meal.

Was around the area and wanted something different. Couldn't have meat today and they were able to do the green spaghetti dish with shrimp instead of the usual steak. :) he recommended the soup with chicken (going to taste the broth but I've never tried Peruvian soup before), and their purple corn drink (highly recommend) which I also never had. The soup (pic below) is so good with that squeeze of lime and the Peruvian hot sauce (it's not that spicy but gives the soup EXTRA flavors that my mind and heart is so grateful for!
