Shortly after we sat down, I noticed one of the cooks open the front door of the restaurant, look directly at us, throw his hands up in frustration, and begin mumbling under his breath. He complained that there were plenty of other seats available and questioned why we had chosen to sit where we were. As I looked more closely, I realized the mirrors beside our table were actually sliding doors to a storage area. It became clear that he was upset because my wife and I were seated in front of it. Had someone simply approached us and politely asked us to move, we would have gladly done so. Instead, the cook continued making comments under his breath and staring at us while moving boxes. Once he finished, he walked past our table, gave me a dirty look, and called me a vulgar name in Spanish ( cara de mierda). At that point, I stood up and asked him, in Spanish, to repeat what he had said. Rather than addressing the situation, he immediately walked into the kitchen and refused to come back out. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable having my food prepared by someone who had just openly insulted me and my pregnant wife. We decided to leave without ordering. This was especially disappointing because we have visited before and always enjoyed the restaurant. Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled was completely unprofessional and has likely cost them two longtime customers.
