Last night, ended up at Almaza with a friend. Not bad. Not mind blowing but not bad at all. Almaza is located on Venice. I parked in the lot (for the building) where the Goodwill is. Walking over to the restaurant entrance (on Venice), I saw that I could have parked in front. Street parking was available. I didn't see meters and I didn't look for signs to figure out restrictions. I'm sure there are - think where it's located. At first, I thought service was gonna be bad until we asked whether we had to order at the counter. He explained he thought my friend and I were waiting on others as we chose to sit at large table. After that, service was great. He was attentive and friendly. I don't remember his name to give him a shout out. I'm getting old. Food. See pics. I enjoyed the Tabouleh and Fries. A lot. The meats, I got the combo - I would have loved them too but they were on the dry side. Not so bad that I even considered sending it back - using the condiments made up for it and will say this - not bland or over seasoned - actually good, just a little dry. I should mention, good enough that I cleared my plate. Actually good enough that I'd definitely consider going back. To try other dishes and their desserts.

This place has solid eats in different desserts other than baklava that was offered. I only wished they offered desserts that weren't covered in nuts since they are only in addition and we're sure to keep cross-contamination out because I would like to have my boyfriend try qataif as it's one of my favorite Arab desserts Their spinach puffs were also different sizes, which I understand that means that they were likely homemade and made by other hands. I just wish there was a little bit more consistency. Flavor was good and honestly one of the better places I've been to that serve Mediterranean food that's as authentic as what my mom makes

I tell everyone I can just how wonderful Almanza is and I always look forward to making the drive over. This is a place where you can get anything on the menu, and it is genuinely always so yummy, fresh, and great portion sizes. Parking can be a little limited, but we're always able to find street or lot parking close by it. Although it's hard to say my favorite thing on the menu because I love everything, I think the steak and chicken kabob plate with rice, salad, and the warm pita bread (with the garlic sauce on the side) is literally everything! I've never had a negative time here and it is definitely the top Mediterranean restaurant in LA.

The dips look gorgeous but all of them were a little on the bland side. The highlight here is the LAMB. I always try it everywhere I go and here it is legit. The staff were nice to accommodate us in the hookah section on a nice breezy summer night. Great vibes here and would come back for a large Lamb plate.

My first time trying Almaza and I was Impressed. I ordered the Chicken Schawarma plate with Spicy Hummus. The Chicken was seasoned very well and the portion was generous. The Spicy Hummus was very good also. I will definitely be ordering from Almaza again. I would definitely suggest ordering extra Garlic sauce as it is quite addicting!

Stopped here on a Monday night for dinner, I'm not a hookah fan but our group wanted to go. They said hookah was great & I thought the food quality was great. Their mint tea had no trace of mint, unless we accidental just got served black tea. We were too tired to make a fuss about it. Regardless, service was good & it was surprisingly really packed for a Monday.

Was looking for something healthy and delicious that was open late and Almaza definitely delivered! We ordered 2 chicken kebab plates. They came with rice and a really nice salad. The chicken was so tender, one of the best kebabs I've ever had. The staff was super nice when I came to pick up my food. I also liked that it's a hookah lounge, I will definitely have to come back to try it!

Almaza was a whole VIBE! Such great good, free wifi and hookahs! I had the lamb and it was too much food for one person. Wonderful place to work remotely and amazing service. There is a parking lot on the backside of the restaurant that was pretty busy. I loved the lamb!!! I will definitely be back.

The knafeh was amazing!! Definitely tastes homemade Tried the shawarma bowl too which was good, but the knafeh was well worth it. Their hummus also tastes very fresh.

I have to admit, being somebody who has a Mediterranean background I'm very skeptical and very judging about Mediterranean, restaurants, especially when they have Hookah. Almaza, up to the potential and the hype that I saw before I came here for the first time a few weeks ago. If you're lucky, you can probably park in front of the restaurant, if not, there is a little plaza parking lot that's not far at all, when you enter the restaurant, usually you'll have the option of sitting inside or outside. I always sit outside because it's just a nicer cooler vibe. At times it can get a little noisy, but that's okay! The service is phenomenal, like some of the best service I've ever had. Our server was named Reda and took care of us. He was super nice and helped us pick things from the menu and has even prepared our hookah the second he sees us arrive to the restaurant! Some of the servers know us as soon as we sit down exactly what kind of Hookah we want and bring it within five minutes. Upon ordering entrees, they literally come out within 10 to 15 minutes, and appetizers in about 5 to 8 minutes. Can things get better than that?? The food is absolutely delicious, ambience is great. Servers are fantastic. I absolutely will be coming here a lot more often and I would recommend this to anybody who is looking for great Mediterranean food, great Hookah and just an overall fantastic experience.

The filling of rice and ground beef is soft. The eggplant is much softer. They are cooked in a tomato sauce and served with a cool creamy yogurt. Babaganouj: This mezze is a roasted eggplant dip. The eggplant is mashed with tahini and lemon juice for a smoky and slightly bitter flavor. It's smooth, creamy, and a bit chunky. Parking: There's a little lot to the side. We let the waiter know it was our first time trying Lebanese food and he went through the whole menu with us, which was extremely helpful. I love rose flavored drinks and desserts, so I was excited to try the jallab recommended by the waiter; it's now probably in the top 5 drinks I've ever had. The grape leaves and babaganoush were a must for us, since we wanted to try dishes that were different from what we have tried before. The grape leaves were herby and hearty, and the babaganoush was flavorful without the tang of a hummus, which I enjoyed. The fried cauliflower was crispy and hot with a creamy sauce that paired well. We liked the tenderloin kabobs a bit more than the chicken since it was juicer and more flavored. The interior is bright and airy, complimenting the hot afternoon perfectly. Their arayes are a must -- it's basically like a lahmajun with two pieces pressed together, and it's insanely good. I usually go all in and order the tabbouleh, babaganoush, a pound of lula kebab, and shish kebab. Honestly, if you're with 2+ people (or even just really hungry), ordering by the pound with sides is way better value than getting individual plates. You get more variety and it just feels like the right way to eat here. Every now and then I'll switch it up and get the liver plate -- it comes with tons of greens and onions, and when you wrap everything in their fresh pita, it's incredible. Not an everyday order, but when you're in the mood for it, it hits. If you dine in, the indoor decor is super nice and really gives that authentic Mediterranean vibe. They also play a lot of 90s music, which somehow fits perfectly and adds to the whole experience. I've dined in plenty of times and the service is always solid -- staff is friendly and attentive. Just a heads up, food can take a little longer sometimes, but that's because they're always busy and everything is made fresh, so it's worth the wait. I've also done takeout here more times than I can count -- probably over 100 orders at this point -- which says everything. This is easily one of my go-to spots and I keep coming back for a reason.

From the moment we arrived, the vibe felt off. The host who seated us (who later turned out to also be a server) left us at the table, and no one approached us for about 10 minutes. When a server finally came over, the first thing she said was "Ready? Ready?", no greeting, no welcome, nothing. We were never brought water. I had to ask a busser for it because the server walked past our table multiple times, clearly saw us, and chose to ignore us. The food runner was also rude, he dropped the plates on the table without saying a single word. Throughout the entire meal, no one checked on us. No "How is everything?" No "Do you need anything?" Nothing at all. Meanwhile, we noticed that nearby tables were being greeted, checked on, and treated kindly. When we asked for the check, the server literally threw it on the table without saying a word. The experience was so bad that we decided not to leave a tip; Something we never do, especially since we truly value good service and I personally work in the restaurant industry. I don't know if the treatment had anything to do with how we looked or how we were dressed, but I've never felt so ignored and uncomfortable in a restaurant before. The food may be fine, but the service completely ruins the experience. I would not return or recommend this place.
