There is almost always a wait but tonight we got seated pretty quick. The menu has quite a bit to choose from and unfortunately I feel like the prices have gone up and the quantity doesn't match what you are paying for. I ordered the fried shrimp. I asked for fries instead of the rice & beans. For $17.50 I'm expecting 8-10 shrimp...I got 5. They gave me the rice & beans and when they brought out the missing fries, they were stone cold. I was informed that since I didn't get the fries originally there, would be no substitution charge and that the rice & beans were on the house. My husband ordered the jambalaya entree that came with cornbread and a salad. Cornbread was a sliver but it appears he had the best meal of the night. Our friends ordered the chicken sandwich and it came with stone cold fries. The other ordered a burger that came without the cheese he requested (then was charged for asking for it) and stone cold fries. All fries were discarded and fresh ones brought out after awhile. 1 out of the 4 meals ordered was the only thing that turned out right. I kinda expected an apology or something for all the issues with our meals but nothing. The company we had was great. The dining experience was a let down.

2026 update: Sister Cities Cajun just as good as it was on my first visit, circa 2020/2021?…read more I was on the hunt for Jambalaya that I could order for my Mardi Gras themed birthday party. This night, I only wanted to try the Jambalaya, and eat the ribs, I was in luck! on my last visit, the ribs were sold out. There were every bit as delicious as I remembered them. I asked the server about the Jambalaya, and she mentioned I could get it catered for my party. I did not realize that I could have ordered it cold, to heat up when my party was ready (there is a place on the website to notate that, hopefully this helps someone) I did not mark the correct box and my Jambalaya was hot at 3 pm when my party was at 8 pm. They were so helpful with further cooking directions and my Jambalaya was perfect come party time.

Nothing was too spicy, everything was seasoned just right, and the flavors were on point. The service was great and attentive, which made the experience even better. The ambiance had smooth music playing that set the perfect vibe for a relaxed meal. And let me talk about that cornbread sweet, fresh, and so good I needed a second piece. I might need that recipe if they're willing to share. Four stars given cause its always room for improvement.

I've passed this place up on occasion driving to mt Vernon. Always wanted to check it out. Glad we did. They have a gravel based parking. They have outside seating under a roof. Once you walk inside it's like you're in a wooded swamp like area. It was packed a bit so couldn't take many inside photos. The food is Cajun based. so you want some gator or catfish bites. They are one of the places to go to in Clinton County. I tried their grilled chicken sandwich with cheese. A side of Cajun fries( not Spicy- husband thought they may season with ole bay) we shared fried pickles and fried okra- we were almost full off of those alone. Large portions for appetizers! even their ranch dressing they brought out to dip the pickles in seems homemade. staff was amazing and attentive. We sat at the bar to eat and all of the ladies were wonderful! they also have a bar outside. Which was perfect as we were going to watch the bands. Overall we had a great time there!

Wow. One of the best restaurants I've been to, and I consider myself a bit of a picky either…read more I got the Bayou Platter, which currently costs $28. It includes: a bowl of gumbo, fried gator, gator legs (cod blocks if they're not available), Cajun fries, and a Maryland crab cake. I've never tried any of this before, but that was all AMAZING. I'm surprised that they had gator, based on how much it seems to be ordered. The Bayou Platter had so much food that I couldn't eat it all. The service was amazing, they gave us our drinks and food pretty quickly. The atmosphere of the restaurant is pretty good, although it can get wild, especially with being a bar. The outside and inside really reminds me of the South, with some very nice decor. Yes, minors/kids are allowed, but they obviously can't buy alcohol. Overall one of the best restaurants I've been to. I'll certainly be coming back.
