Ally is amazing and has helped so many dogs. I am also a trainer and have absolute confidence in referring clients to Ally. Every single person I have ever sent her way has come back singing her praises. Thank you Ally, so many dogs are living their best life because of you!! read more

Ally has been a game changer for my nearly 6-month-old puppy. I initially contacted her for help with loose-leash training in short training breaks. After the first session I noticed progress with his leash skills and with all subsequent sessions he's continued to improve. For a Boston Terrier (known for being hard pullers) to be relaxed and by my side at his age is really impressive. More recently we switched from hourly training breaks to her field trips. These are organized so that she picks up and drops off my pup from my house and spends the day with him and 3-5 other dogs teaching loose-leash, recall, settle, socialization in novel environments, and myriad other skills, all while tiring him out with tons of playtime. When he comes home he naps *hard* for a couple hours. There are so many trainers in town and it was hard to know who had the experience and approach to best fit my puppy, but her fear free, choice based training method has been the perfect fit. She takes time to post updates of their activity to Instagram which is a fun way to follow along periodically throughout the day and to cap it off she's easy to communicate with, always replies to messages quickly, accommodates my crazy schedule, and is an all around fun and energetic person. Thank you, Ally! read more

Ally is amazing at what she does! I am a dog trainer myself, and I refer her to all of my clients who's dogs are suffering from separation anxiety issues (I don't offer that kind of training) and they've all had great results. I would never send a client to a trainer I didn't trust completely. My own dog is her newest student and I'm so excited to start working with her! read more

First, I cannot recommend Ally enough! From the very beginning she has been accessible and knowledgeable about anything and everything dog and dog training. We started Sadie with the play and train program with Ally after our initial consult and I have never trusted anymore with my precious pup. Every time Sadie came home I knew she had learned a ton and was getting great socialization. Unfortunately we live too far for this program now, but luckily for us Ally started Raising a Rockstar just in time for us to transition to the new program. Raising a Rockstar is AWESOME. I've always connected with the way Ally explains what she's doing and how to help Sadie, and having her provide short tutorials on everything we need to know has been so helpful. Before Ally I tried training on my own with random YouTube videos and channels and believe me, this is way more comprehensive and way easier to tailor to your own dog. I didn't think I could do it on my own before, but with Ally's guidance and Raising a Rockstar I now know that I can - and that I can always get Ally's feedback when I have questions. read more

What a highly professional, educated, empathetic, and skilled trainer. We're all so fortunate to have her out there helping dogs.

Ally is awesome! I highly recommend her. She knows her stuff! She had many flexible options for affordable plans.

My bulldog mix, Guff, has been going on daily pack adventures with Ally for the last 6 months now, and both he and I are totally thrilled with the experience. He gets lots of exercise and socialization, and I get to know he's being active and having fun while I'm at work. I even get to watch along on Instagram, which is a bonus! I love seeing Guff play with the other dogs in his pack, and all the pet parents commenting on our pups' Chasing Tail outings feel like an extended community. This Christmas, Guff also boarded with Ally for a week while I was traveling home to the East Coast. As a bulldog, Guff can be high-maintenance. He likes a lot of attention and also needs meds for his eyes, dietary supplements, and extra grooming for his face folds. Ally took really great care of him, and he enjoyed all the extra activity he got with the other dogs. On top of it all, Chasing Tail's rates are extremely reasonable--especially for the level of service Ally provides. A lot of other dog care services in the area charge similarly or higher for a short walk or "daycare" that requires you to drop off/pick up your dog, who doesn't even get to go outside! Ally picks Guff up, drops him off, and has even changed her route on hot days so Guff (and his bulldog breathing issues) doesn't have to spend more time in the heat than absolutely necessary. And there are multiple invoicing options which makes paying for all this super convenient. I don't know what Guff and I would do without Ally and Chasing Tail! read more

Ally is an all around amazing trainer. Since in-person training classes had halted due to covid- I was at a loss for getting needed socialization and training and thought a personal trainer would be way out of the budget. Not only has Ally exceeded my expectations and has been more than affordable, I have found her training to be more beneficial that the puppy classes that we had previously attended. While we started out with both group training/socialization and one-on-one training, I also signed up for her Raising a Rockstar Puppy Virtual Guide. I initially thought the virtual training guide wouldn't apply to my 10 month old pup- but I was so wrong. There is so much good information from preparing for your pup, teaching position changes, loose leash walking and so much more- Ally's lessons are short and to the point while also explaining the reasoning for her approaches (not to mention seeing her train her own pup first hand is so beneficial). I love that we can work on lessons in any order or go back and re-watch and hit "complete" when we are ready to move on. I really wish I had this guide before I got my pup, we have been working hard through this guide and she has been available for guidance along with any questions we have regarding any of the lessons. She truly understands the thinking and behavior of pups and her methods are there to ensure the success of your pup. If you aren't lucky enough to work with Ally locally, I would highly suggest signing up for her Raising a Rockstar Virtual Guide. read more

We love Ally!! We've tried a number of other services like Doggy Vacay, Wag, etc. and have returned to misbehaving and spoiled pups. We're so happy we were referred to Ally and Chasing Tail and haven't tried any other service since. Ally truly cares about our dogs, takes great care of them, and is also super responsive, accommodating, and flexible for the times we've been caught at work or traveling and need an emergency walk. And, as a plus, I love following Chasing Tail's instagram account to see the many puppy adventures. :) Thank you, Chasing Tail! read more

Just like a doctor sometimes needs to see a specialist himself, I needed a separation anxiety expert when my senior dog started experiencing intense SA.  Despite being a professional dog trainer myself for the last decade, I knew I needed someone to walk me through the ONLY real fix for SA. Knowing I wanted to do the work once and right, I reached out to Ally. And boy, am I happy I did! My dog can now be home for 4 hours alone and we're still building. Before Ally, if I went to get the mail, it turned into panic. Ally gave a thorough plan with plenty of guidance each day to get the results that we needed. She was also always just a text away if I had any questions. I will continue to refer all my clients to Ally for their SA needs! read more

Ally did a terrific job taking care of my kitty (Mango) this past weekend as my boyfriend and I were out of town getting some much needed R&R. My cat has been called "fiesty" by many (and usually hisses at people when she first meets them). I knew Ally was an animal person right away when my cat did not go with her typical M.O. upon meeting Ally but continued to repose on the bed (like the princess she is) as if Ally were someone she already knew and trusted. Ally is responsible, fun, personable and professional. I am definitely planning to use Ally again for any future trips we may go on! read more

Ally is the absolute best and honestly, I do not know where we would be without her. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into when we brought home a Goldendoodle who would not stay in a crate or anywhere by himself. We literally could not take a shower without him going crazy. With Ally's consistent training and encouragement, I am happy to say he is now able to be alone. He also has been hanging out with Ally 2 days a week since he was a few months old and we have the best trained (loose leash walker!!), most socially comfortable pup I could have ever dreamed of. I cannot recommend Ally enough - completely worth the investment and your dog will love her! read more

My husband and I traveled to Asheville for a trip with our dog, Sullivan, and were fortunate enough to find Ally at Chasing Tail (AVL Dog Training). We didn't want to leave Sullivan in the AirBnB for too long by himself while we were out and were looking for a professional dog walker (NOT Wag or Rover - so many horror stories) with a background in dog training. It's a hard to find combination but after literally hours of searching, we landed on Ally. Her website made it very easy to get in touch and book an appointment. Ally herself was proactive and open with communication during the whole process. She went above and beyond in every aspect - she let us know about Sullivan's potty habits (something every dog mom wants to know) and was super flexible with my many requests. If you live in Asheville, you are super lucky to have her - sign your pup up immediately! Should we ever visit Asheville again, we will definitely book with her. read more

I highly recommend Ally Verba for training and behavior. As a certified professional dog trainer, I have relied on Ally's expertise in helping to develop training and behavior protocols and guidelines, and I have often referred clients to her because of her great training skills and deep behavior knowledge. While I am sad that she's left the Bay Area and is now in Portland; dog owners in Portland are in for a treat! read more

Ally is the greatest! Our 8 month old puppy LOVES going on walks with her and the other dogs in her pack. He is beside himself with excitement when she arrives to pick him up. We really appreciate Ally's sensitivity to his development, safety and wellbeing. We first met her at SF Puppy Prep, where she had the role of picking our puppy up at our home, taking him to daycare, working with puppies there, then returning him to our home. We feel really lucky that she decided to return to dog walking fulltime. We could not ask for a better or nicer person to look after our dog. She has also taken care of him when we have traveled, and it was obvious that he had a great experience. We feel completely confident leaving him in her care. She runs her business in a very professional manner, with the added bonus of photos and videos posted on her website. read more

I recently adopted a puppy and was having issues with biting, jumping, and pulling on leash. I contacted Ally through her website and heard back from her within 2 hours. I booked one of the available package deals (6 sessions) and the rest is history. I am now able to bring Milo with me to get coffee, introduce him to new people without embarrassment, leave him at home without destroying my furniture, and take a walk with him walking politely by my side. Ally is great, I refer her to everyone looking for dog training! read more

Chasing Tail is simply the best! I feel like my lil guy is well taken care of in the hands of Ally. She is so nurturing, caring and accommodating. She listens to my frustrations of managing a puppy and is always so reassuring =) I am so happy that we have Ally and I know my pup is thrilled with her. read more

I have a very hyperactive dog and using Chasing Tail's services has changed my life. I used to come home to an anxious puppy who chewed up my shoes and furniture while I was at work. Now, after his long play/walk sessions with Ally, I come home to a calmer, well exercised dog. As the owner of a particularly difficult puppy, I'm so grateful there is someone like Ally out there who can deal with him and love him as much as I do! read more
