First, Master Jeff Dunn is the most inspiring person I have ever met. He is a true master of his craft, and it's very clear that he is passionate about teaching people. We don't just learn martial arts, we learn life lessons. Having said that, we certainly do learn martial arts! The school offers Jhoon Rhee Tae Kwon Do, Thai Kickboxing and cardio kickboxing. Once you achieve your black belt, you begin to learn another style, Moo Duk Kwon. One of the major reasons so many of us are long-timers is because there is always something new to learn. All of the classes are high-energy! We train with music, which helps motivate us to keep moving. Our instructors are top-notch. Again, having trained under Master Dunn, they are knowledgeable, energetic, passionate and caring. Another great feature of the school is that it is family-oriented. I originally began training with my six year old son (he just went off to college). Classes are by belt level, not age group. (The family that kicks together sticks together). However, certain exercises are separated by age groups. Thai Kickboxing, on the other hand, is adults only. It is an incredible workout. We don't hit people, we hit and kick bags. (Sparring is offered but not mandatory). It's a little easier on the joints, and the moves are not as complex. It's still a lot of fun! Cardio kickboxing is a good alternative if you don't want to learn formal moves but you want a high-energy aerobic workout (with body sculpting at the end of most classes). One last thing - the place is very large, with three separate rooms. Scheduling is pretty flexible - there are some classes offered 7-days a week. It's clean and bright - very inviting. I especially like the chats (example - healthy food ideas) that are given at the end of class. Working on their inner strength is just as important as their physical strength.
