Steve is a kind of kid-whisperer in how he teaches classes, instilling in the students a healthy respect for the traditions of tae kwon do and providing encouragement every step of the way. Our child progressed through increasing belt levels regularly, and he was deservedly proud of his accomplishments. He is attentive and is also funny to learn from and he always makes sure that you are included in the community. He is very supportive and only wants you to grow. Not at all instructors are for everyone but Professor Gaivota is friendly and welcoming, he makes sure he is attentive and wants to get you up to speed. He isnt afraid to be playful and give you a kick or two on your first day! His passion speaks through each and every class and the two years I took classes with him were the most fun I had doing any martial arts.
