The schedule has a well-attended 6 a.m. class for local commuters (it's one of the few times I know I can get on the mat) as well as competition classes and extra-curricular strength training and stretching classes. The school has cultivated a great community that supports all levels (and age groups) of jiu jitsu from high-level competitors to novices just finding the sport. Adam and Karen, the owners and head coaches, provide excellent instruction and truly care about their students. When I competed in a tournament in Manhattan, Adam went with me to coach from the rail. I was the only student competing that day and he still made time, away from his own family and commitments, to head into the city. Last, the kids program is great. The coaches create a fun atmosphere that is still conducive to learning and building their skills in a safe manner. If you're curious about training, I highly suggest checking out the school.

Over four years ago, my two children began their martial arts journey at Xtreme Edge Martial Arts…read moreduring Buddy Week. My wife and I had tried enrolling them at other schools in the past, but they always hesitated to even step onto the mat. That all changed the moment we walked into the Xtreme Edge dojo -- all I could say was wow! The warmth, energy, and love we felt from Renshi and his team were truly unmatched. Since then, we couldn't be happier with the tough-love care and detailed instruction provided by Renshi and all the instructors. This school goes far beyond teaching martial arts -- it's about instilling discipline, values, and life principles that shape strong minds and character in and out of the dojo. It's a transformative experience, and we highly recommend Xtreme Edge Martial Arts to any family looking for more than just a martial arts class. Inspired by my children, I joined a few months later through the Yellow belt Challenge. To date, I've lost 58 pounds and feel better than ever. The physical changes are amazing, but it's also the friendships and community that make this journey so meaningful. You'll meet great people and potentially make lifelong friends. The results speak for themselves -- you won't be disappointed. A heartfelt thank you to Renshi and all the instructors for being such an important part of our lives!

We came to this new dojo because our old dojo was just too far to travel. When my boys decided…read morethey didnt want to do karate anymore I gave my notice. As you can imagine juggling schedules is a hard task and they aren't couch potatoes- they do other sports. When I gave my notice I was very disappointed in the response from the management. While I can imagine its upsetting to sign up new kids and lose them, the level of conversation we had was unreal. He basically wanted me to force them to come "I'm the parent". Quite honestly I'm not going to pay for a service that my boys don't want to do and kids are way too over scheduled these days. I was very honest about that. His response to me was that "You knew they were doing these other activities when you signed them up" and "had he known I would just quit like this he never would have accepted me into the program." Im of the mindset that kids should finish what they started but I certainly wasn't going to bring my kids there to finish out the month even though we had to pay for it. Had to give thirty days notice - So we are stuck paying for a service for the following month we won't use - which we agreed to but it would have been nice if they only charged for one child instead of two. Especially since they are getting paid and not giving a service at all. Very disappointed.

I had to use everything I had to get to a position so I could breathe and eventually force the instructor off. I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone honestly. The owner came in and told me to quote "get the fuck out". Thuggish, little rules, not clean. Sad that an instructor has the ability to strip the fun out of such an amazing combat sport.
