He said he could keep my car and continue to do tests throughout the day including a drive test. He never found anything wrong with me car so I was 100% scammed by this other place and Tony saved the day. Tony saved me $1,000 in repairs on something that did not need to be repaired and was very honest about the whole process and called me every couple hours as he could tell I was very nervous since I had just been scammed by another place. I needed new tires and he got me an AMAZING deal on tires and charged very little for installation and got rid of my old (very beat up) tires for me for free. Not only did he tell me what he thought was wrong with the car , but he said it in a way I could understand it, and quoted me a great price! I am an educated, professional woman, but I know nothing about cars and I am sick of auto repair places that tell you something that you can't understand and get condescending when you ask them to explain (" it's OK little lady I'll take care of it")....and dealers are cost prohibitive. When I told Rod I appreciated the fact that he explained everything in plain English that I could understand, he informed me that his wife Maria (the other half of RMB) was responsible for that. Maria made him call back a client and explain after she overheard him on the phone with the woman. Thank you Maria. I was initially told that a partial repair was sound and not hazardous. The following day, I was told they would not perform the repair due to safety concerns. I understand that a shop should refuse work it believes is unsafe, but I am extremely frustrated by the contradictory information and lack of communication. They did not explain what had changed or why they could no longer perform the repair. Instead, I had to call back, chase down the only person who could actually answer my questions, and figure out what I needed to ask. They failed to communicate when they said they would, despite knowing I was working against an insurance deadline. They also failed to have the estimate that I was told they were putting together for multiple days and had to put it together on the phone in two minutes. This put me in an incredibly stressful position and left me feeling that my time and circumstances were not being taken seriously. The shop also frequently smelled of nicotine and marijuana vape smoke during my visits, which added to my discomfort with the overall experience. Ultimately, my biggest issue is not that they refused to do a repair they considered unsafe. It is that they gave me conflicting information, failed to communicate critical details to inform my decision, and left me to chase down answers while facing a time-sensitive deadline.
