But the Magic tech showed me the AC float switch that was never wired correctly, the tape that could have blocked a critical kill switch, and left me knowing everything was okay. He confirmed safeties were working properly (after service). I felt good with the updates done. Combustion assessment has a separate price tag, like an al a carte menu. He researched a replacement UV bulb and found a cost while onsite. There was quite a bit of effort to upsell into service agreements. Aside from that, I will certainly consider them for summer AC, hot water, and heater maintenance. For what I needed at the time, perfect. I am considering a annual service agreement for the heater, AC, and hot water. They are apparently expanding to attic insulation ad well. The negative reviews from "CA customers" are puzzling. They deserve 5-stars.

The "issue" he diagnosed wasn't even the actual issue. It was a bad wire, and clogged drain. Not a thermostat. Had we listened to him, we would have paid close to $1,000 and still not have had the answer. The tech was the one "freakin" on his so called diagnosis and pricing. Only call these guys if you want a tech that's doesn't actually care and treats you like a bad mechanic only there for the upsell. Editing to reply to the owner: I have no interest in training your technician how to not be a slime ball. You need to teach your techs how to be honest and more detailed, not just jump to the incorrect conclusion because it's a hot day. I know it was hot. I was the one suffering in my horribly hot house. The thermostat that he said needed replacing is working perfectly well. We had a neighbor with HVAC experience figure out the problem. Pretty bad when someone who left the business 10 years ago was better at the job than your paid tech. Even worse- me and ChatGPT figured out the clogged drain part. And I am not a handy person. If AI can do a better job than your technician- that's saying a whole hell of a lot.

When a Costco refrigerator delivery exposed a water leak in the refrigerator line, it became an emergency situation because the refrigerator couldn't be installed until the leak was fixed. While he was there, he also found and repaired a leak to the dishwasher at a very fair price and even fixed a leaking tub issue at no charge, which really speaks to his integrity. More recently, when my water softener started having issues, Jesse stopped by just to turn it off so it would stop recycling -- again with no service charge. He later installed a brand-new water softener, with excellent workmanship, very reasonable pricing, and his usual friendly, easygoing personality.
