Excellent restaurant! Probably one of our favorite during our visit to Guadalajara. Very clean white decor with teak tables and chairs all clean lines which just adds to the ambiance. They are know for their farm to table cuisine with many of the vegetables coming from the Lake Chapala region. We shared the beet carpaccio which was amazing and so unusual. They gave us an offering of tomato gazpacho also very good. The table side bread also seems homemade and so good with a tahini and eggplant purée to put on it. Just fabulous We then shared the beef cheeks. So very tender and juices with a crispy outside the vegetable purée under was excellent along with caramelized onions. For dessert the cinnamon buns are excellent but you o need to tell them ahead if you don't have the extra 20 minutes it takes to make. But it is worth the wait they come out hot and steamy and just delicious. They have an excellent selection of wine and we had an Argentinian Malbac blend with a Cab which was great and the bottle was only $18.00. Reasonable prices, amazing food and great service. It's no wonder that they won a Michelin award. read more

This is a great restaurant but not vegetarian as Yelp states. I had an excellent carnivorous offering of seared whitefish beautifully presented however my eating partner, who is vegetarian, was very limited in what he could order. Allium is a special culinary treat. The restaurant has a cozy farm to table feel, serving lots of fresh local vegetables and ingredients from around the region. Service is very attentive with menus both in Spanish and English. Favorite dishes were Yellow Tuna Aguachile with passion fruit and avocado sauce (literally amazing), catch of the day prepared with corn (must try) and the pavlova - all very good! Complimentary biscuits with house made jam and butter and chef's muse were a nice touch. Pretty serving-ware, good music and table side rack for purses and coats. Enjoy! read more

Absolutely amazing high quality perfectly prepared food. Ambiance is tastefully and relaxed with inside and patio seating. The seabass was large portioned and perfectly crusted with a tender center in excellent sauce. The rizoto was creamy topped with regianno cheese. I love this little gem in Gdl. I visit every time I'm in This city. These guys do local and fresh as much as they can! Their food is always creative and so delicious! The menu changes often from what I've seen and there's always something new and delicious to try. Most recently I had their fresh tuna ceviche. It had an amazing mix of spices and flavors that were new to me and so good! A while ago, my husband had a duck dish here with a cherry sauce that was beyond scrumptious! Anyone from the States who is a foodie should run, not walk, to this place. It was, hands down, the best meal we had in our two week exploration of Jalisco and Guanajuato. Three young Mexican chef-owners, two from Culinary Institute of America and one from the equivalent in Mexico City. This was the kind of experience I would expect at a Jonathan Gold recommended place in L.A. Would have eaten there every day if we hadn't discovered it two days before flying home. Farm to table, and inventive uses of native ingredients. One of most memorable meals I've had anywhere, any time. Plus, at one-third of what I would have payed at home. I really really wanted to like this place, after reading the reviews and hearing about it from some of my good friends I decided to try it out. It was good but not spectacular, a little pricey and the service was ok. The waiters didn't provide enough food menus for the table and when they came to take our order some of us didn't even realize that we had a menu on the table, they were also rushed to take our plates off the table that they didn't realize we hadn't finished with the appetizers. There isn't a lot to choose from but the descriptions of the plates made our mouths water. My plate was good, the mushrooms were somehow salty and unfortunately none of the waiters came to check if I was enjoying my meal. I'm giving it 4 stars because my friends really enjoyed their meal, the environment is really nice and the food presentation is outstanding. Sadly, I took some points off because of the not-so-good service and because I wasn't particularly thrilled with my food... Maybe I just have to go back and try a different plate. read more

This is the absolute real deal in dining. These folks in the kitchen really know their stuff, and you can see it in the open kitchen.
