Mavis Discount Tire - Factory Refurbished Caliper

Mavis Discount Tire

Mavis is good with tires. I had a flat and brought my car there. They ordered a new tire to match…read morethe other tires on the car. Their price was fair. They even fixed a bent rim on a different wheel without charging me. I got the car back on the next day. I was pleased with the service I received. Mavis would be my first choice if I had a tire problem again.

Questionable charges and Serious Concerns about the Service…read moreI had a very disappointing experience with Mavis Tire (Cortland Manor location), and I believe other customers should know what happened. I dropped off my car (2018 Elantra)on Sunday at 8:00am, Marvis called me and said they could not find the part and ask if I can leave the car until the following day. I declined because we needed the car to get to work on Monday morning. The store closes at 4:00pm, I received another call telling me that the car was ready. I went to pick it up and was charged $695.94 for two rear calipers. After inspecting the work, I became concerned that my original used calipers had been reinstalled instead of the refurbished calipers listed on my invoice. Factory refurbished calipers typically have a fresh painted finish, and the calipers on my car did not appear to be new or refurbished. To verify I went to NAPA auto parts and asked for the exact same calipers, matching the make and part number listed on my invoice. I was quoted $315.98 for both rear calipers. I was charged $695.94 at Mavis, and still have serious questions about wether the part I paid for was actually installed. On top of that, I was charged anther $101 break system flush that I never authorized. Nobody called me to explain this additional service or ask for my approval. I only discover the charges when I reviewed the bill. It get better, they also charged me twice for break pads, once at $92.43 stock number 6603, and $92.40 D1912. I am extremely disappointed by the lack of communication, the unexpected charges, and the questionable surrounding the parts and services listed on my invoice. I strongly encourage anyone using this location to review every charge, request and approval before additional work is performed, and carefully inspect their vehicle after repair.
