The few times I needed service or an inspection they can fit me in. Prices are very reasonable. Also, customer service is great!

On 11/23/25, I went to Mavis for two front tires and asked if they had time to do my inspection. Shortly after, they pulled me into the garage and claimed all four brakes, rotors, and several other parts--including my battery--needed replacing. When I asked for an itemized estimate, they refused, saying they couldn't show me anything until the work was done but they would try to give me a good deal. I requested a temporary inspection sticker so I could take my car to my regular mechanic, and they told me they couldn't because they had already removed my current sticker. I later learned it's illegal to remove a valid sticker before inspection date is expired. They insisted it had expired in June but could not show it to me until they "found" it after I pushed. Even then, they refused to give it to me and hesitated to let me photograph it. They also told me I "needed" new tie rods but would charge me for a battery instead "to save money," even though a battery isn't required to pass NYS inspection and my tire rods were not serviced, nor documented on any kind of paper. In the end, I was charged nearly $2,000 for repairs I didn't want, after they created a situation where I couldn't decline the work. I felt pressured to say yes so I was able to get my car back after they refused to issue me a temporary sticker. I was given a few different reasons why and then lastly told they "misunderstood" what I was asking for when I asked for a 10 day temporary. Their actions were both unethical and illegal. I will be contacting Mavis to resolve this, but I will also be reporting the shop to the DMV.

Diego was nice enough to help us get checked in and he told us that it would take around 45 minutes. We left the store and returned around 40 minutes later to see how everything was going. We returned to the parking lot to find my car parked differently than how I left it so we walked inside excited to see my car completed. WRONG!!! After It took us another 5 minutes to find someone to help us they told me that they were unable to put the tires on my car, they said they couldn't chance taking the lug nuts off my car and damaging the vehicle. Mind you I hadn't received a text or a call explaining the issue prior to me returning to the store. To top it all off the employee put the tires in my truck and basically told me that it was my problem now because I paid online. The employees were so pre-occupied that they couldn't even give suggestions or sincere apologies. I will absolutely never EVER go back to get any work done. Shame on me for thinking Walmart could ever exceed my exceptions.

The years between there was issue after issue. Every time I wondered aloud what might be happening to the car to depreciate so suddenly and badly, the guy at the front desk would always say things like there are a lot of potholes in the area or New York uses a lot of salt on the roads causing wear and tear. It still didn't make sense to me as someone who has always driven area roads in NY, but I took their word for it. When I started getting second opinions and they would say something I had just paid thousands for at Midas looked bad or even worse than when they previously saw my car, I realized Midas might be the issue. Midas doesn't reply to messages about fixing any issues they've caused. And, you have to wait all day for even the simplest service there, such as an oil change or inspection. There is always some excuse that there was an emergency. The guy at the front desk is a good talker. Midas will woo you in with excellent work and customer service your first visits, but they then turn to garbage. If you're like me, you might give them a benefit of the doubt because of how great everything was before. Don't be like me. Find somewhere else to service your car. You'll save Yourself thousands.

When she declined the extra services, she was then told her car would not pass inspection and that she needed new tires and a rear windshield wiper. So she took her car to our regular mechanic for a second opinion and were told her tires had at least 10,000 miles left on them and that the only thing needed was a rear windshield wiper and the inspection. The total was nowhere near $1,155. This experience felt misleading and extremely disappointing, especially toward a young customer. I would not recommend this shop based on what she experience.

My first experience with Firestone was great. And so I gave it a 4 star review. My next…read moreexperience and my wife's experience went down hill from there. Now I am forced to give them a 1 star review. First, with my experience. I took my Hyundai Accent to Firestone to flush my engine with coolant on 6/10/25. Firestone performed the service and I left satisfied. Then I took my Hyundai back on 7/24/25 because I my AC was blowing hot. Charlie told me I needed a new AC compressor, which would cost $1,744 plus the cost of $300 for Feon. I didn't order the new AC compressor. Instead, I took the Accent to the Hyundai Dealer on 8/4/2025. They stated I only needed a pressure valve screw that had came loose on the bottom. They replaced it and just charged me $758 for the Feon plus labor. When the Hyundai dealer checked the coolant, they stated that it was clear and had only water. They wanted to do a new engine flush and fill it with coolant. I said no. I already paid for coolant with Firestone. I took the car back to Charlie and he stated the dealer is lying, that Firestone put coolant in the car. He refused to even look at the car to see what I was talking about. Second, my wife took her Mercedes Benz to Firestone on 8/9/25 to replace her front & rear brakes and rotors, and install a front ABS sensor. Firestone did the work but Charlie said she had to order the sensor, which she paid for in advance. She paid a total of $1,429 for the work. As she was driving the Benz, she heard noises coming from the rear tires. She took the Benz back to Firestone on 8/28/25. Charlie told her she had to pay to have new rotors installed because the mechanic only installed break pads. Charlie wanted to charge her an additional $1,000 for the new rotors. Instead, she took the Benz to the Mercedes Benz dealer. The Benz dealer told her that old rotors were never replaced on the Benz and that Firestone used sub par brake pads. She had to have new rotors installed and the break pads that Firestone installed replaced also. My wife paid TWICE for the same work. The Benz dealer gave my wife the break pads that Firestone installed. We went back to Charlie at Firestone on 9/2/25 to get a refund for the work that Firestone did not do. Charlie gave her a credit of $419.53 for the ABS sensor that was never installed. He refused to take back the brake pads that Firestone installed. He claimed that my wife never requested rotors and when he asked to installed them, that she declined. He stated he had a video of her declining the rotors. I asked to see the video but he refused to show it to us. Then he claimed that the mechanic who worked on the car, heard my wife decline the rotors. Charlie claimed the charges are for labor only and not for the rotors. We disagreed because the invoice clearly showed that she was charged for the rotors. We called the Firestone Corporate office on 9/3/25 and spoke to customer rep Larry. Larry took our complaint and gave us a file number. He stated that he would submit the complaint, an area manager would review it, and we would get a decision by email within two business days. As of this date, 9/26/25, we have not received any communication from Firestone Corporate office regarding our complaint. We then filed a complaint with VISA and requested a refund of the $1,009 that my wife was charged for the rotors that were not installed and work that was done improperly. We are highly unsatisfied with the work that was performed on our vehicles and do not recommend Firestone for any of your auto service needs.

They happened to appear on Google as open on a Saturday, and the garage I normally use is closed on Saturdays. I just dropped my car off for an inspection (literally--hours before writing this review). They said the car should be ready to pick up within the hour. I didn't anticipate any issues with inspection, but you never know if there's something wrong that would cause it to fail. That being said, I'm fairly knowledgeable with basic car maintenance and can tell when I'm being scammed. I received a call less than an hour later, with the mechanic (whose name I didn't catch, he appeared to be the only mechanic working at the time, latino guy in his 30's) saying that there were a number of issues with the car, ranging from suspension, to power steering, to who knows what else, and that they weren't "even going to try to do an inspection until we get that car on a lift." This set off a bunch of red flags. I'm not a mechanic, but fairly certain none of these things were true. I said on the phone, "no thanks, I'll just come and pick up the car." I swing by about 30 minutes later to pick up the car. When picking up the keys, the mechanic gave me the riot act. "The car needs this, and this, and your pump is going, and your belt is going to snap..." etc. Since, ostensibly, he "didn't get the car on a lift," I'm not sure how he was able to diagnose all of these problems. I said, "OK, thanks," took the keys, and left the office. The mechanic proceeded to also leave the office and follow me out to the car. He said, "I think you're f**king disrespecting me, walking out of the office like that." I said, "no, sorry, I said thanks." He said, "You know, I could've f**king scraped that inspection sticker off of your car, don't walk away from me when I'm talking to you." I said, "I'm going to put this on Google and other review sites, you're being threatening." I then got in my car, and he proceeded to open the back door of the car and yell, "you're f**king disrespecting me, I'm going to kick your a**." I said, "please close the door or I'm going to call the cops." He closed the door and I drove away. I don't think I'm going to file a police report because I'm not sure what good that is going to do here, but I IMPLORE you to avoid this garage AT ALL COSTS. I sincerely believe that this mechanic may end up hurting someone.
