I've been coming to Matt for a few years now with my Subaru. I can tell you this that Matt and his crew should be an example to so many auto mechanics out there. Being a blonde female, I always get taken by mechanics and my main Subaru dealer as well. To give you an example, a few weeks ago, just for fun I called for a quote from Subaru "Shaisterland" in Newton on how much it would cost me to replace my AT neutral safety switch. Subaru gave me a range of an estimate: $375-$475. The part itself costs around $75. Matt replaced the part and charged me $85 for the labor (an hour's worth of work). This saved me $215-315 dollars by not going to Subaru directly. Matt is not only honest and reliable, but he doesn't drum up work that doesn't need to be done. I was looking for a local garage that was dependable to get some rather small repairs done. Their reviews were really good overall so I called and the price was fair for replacing a door handle and an oil change. While they had the car they informed me that my two front tires were in really bad shape and gave me an estimate and ordered them. As soon as the tires came in they put them on and the price I paid was even a little lower than the original quote. This happened to be the 4th set of tires I have had put on the front, and they are far superior to any of my past tires( from "chain" auto garages, and one local garage that mostly does nothing but tires) and the price was very fair for the quality. Got a quote from another local shop for front left wheel bearing replacement for $450 ($150 parts $200 labor & $100 alignment). Called Matt's after and got a quote of $205 right off the bat ($45 parts & $160 labor) and informed me that an alignment for a wheel bearing change for my model car is not necessary BUT if I wanted on it would be $285 all together. I called the other place back immediately told them to F off and took my car the next day to Matt's.. it was done in a couple hours. I am beyond thrilled with the fact that 1.
