I am not affiliated with Ozzy's and have never needed real car work since I've leased cars and know very little about cars myself. But I am writing this because I just had a great experience at Ozzy's and wanted to share to let you know you may also have a similar experience. I recently bought a Carvana car and if you've been through the process of online car buying you know it's essential to get a PPI (thorough pre purchase inspection during the 7 days post purchase when you're able to return or switch out your car with no penalty since they often try to sell flood cars and salvage cars... also during this 7 day window is when the Carvana silver rock warranty company is inclined to cover repairs they would normally decline to cover since they really want you to keep the car. The car is a BMW x1. I had it first looked at by an Indy BMW shop who charged me $335 for an inspection and told me I needed fluids flushed and an oil change based on the car fax and said he saw water intrusion marks under the headliner at the trunk but wouldn't do the labor to fix it until we decided to make the purchase, even though he's contracted with the warranty company. Wouldn't do the labor to find the leak and said Carvana's warranty wouldn't cover any of the things he stated unless there was a bad problem causing the leak and it wasn't worth it to try to ask them. Decided to go to Ozzy's to get a second opinion the next day. Worked with Matteo who is a sweetheart- great at customer service and knowledgeable (even about BMWs, which tends to do better when serviced at a bmw dealership or specialty shop). Matteo knew all about the silver rock process, did a thorough PPI for no charge at all - and let us know that besides the water mark and a nail in one of the tires, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car. Didn't need fluids or flushing, didn't appear to have any wet or rusty spots. He actually looked at all the fluids and said that they were good as new and that Carvana must have just done them - even though the carfax didn't reflect so. He wasn't gonna recommend work that didn't need to be done just to make a few extra bucks. He said if we could bring the car back when he had more time, he'd check out the water marks under the headliner, flush out the drains / tubing and check all the seals since I was afraid of mold growing under the headliner where we saw water leaking. He assured us he would make claims for the tire and the leak with silver rock warranty and push them to cover the cost of all of it so we wouldn't have to pay a dime more for an already big purchase. We brought it back the next day and they quickly tackled all of it- He also took the headliner piece off to look underneath the water mark which is labor intensive in a BMW- and found nothing to worry about. At the end he showed us what he did, let us know he filed a request for 4 new tires with silver rock since they were old and mismatched with one leaking from a nail - and he asked them to cover any labor cost for the drain fixing. He also took the time to explain how to maintain and keep an eye on our drains in the BMW to make sure no other issues arise. He gave us other maintenance tips- and again all at no charge for us. I will go back to get my new tires soon and to have any general maintenance done on our good as new car. Ozzy's and Matteo proved to me the business is trustworthy by not charging a dime for doing a thorough look over regarding work I might need, by getting us in on time since we had to wait, and they officially proved they won't rip you off. Matteo there actually seemed to care if your car works the way you need it to or not. And for that I recommend them and will be going back for work I need done in the future! read more

I recently took my car for an inspection and was told that my car failed inspection and in order to pass I needed to replace the control arm bushings. They quoted me a price of $1500 including parts and labor. I did not feel any changes or difference in the steering so I questioned the assessment and took it to an auto mechanic that I trust. He performed the inspection in which the car passed and stated that the control arm bushings were slightly worn, but nowhere near the condition to fail an inspection. Not the first time I've had issues with ozzys. That was a while ago where he failed my inspection because of windshield wipers when they were brand new and put on the week prior. Ok, so, now to yesterday. I called at 10:38am to see if they had time to do an inspection within the hour, the guy who answered the phone said sure come on over. So that's what we did and when we got there, we were told that there were a couple cars in front of us and it would be a short wait. Meantime two hours later they still hadn't taken the car in yet. What happened to come right over? Steer clear of this place they will do anything to make money and I was lied to that car should've been taken right away like the guy over the phone said this place is a joke steer clear as for me once bitten twice shy I'm done. read more

I have nothing bad to say about this location! Overall superb quality of service. I dropped my car off here to get snow tires put on. It was just the day before a really bad storm and my job was going to be closed. They called me and told me that they may not have someone in the day of the storm but... I got a call the day of the storm from someone who physically walked there to work and be called me to tell me because he was the only one there, the service wouldn't be done till the following day. I was fine with this and honestly kudos to the guy that came into work during a blizzard. They take care of my car and my fathers. I have a Porsche 2023 brand new car, I took my car for an oil change, the girl there told me "I have an expensive tires" I didn't pay attention to that comment into I got home and I had a flat tire out nowhere I called them and the manager told me bring the car over so I can look it up. I don't usually leave a feedback but what transpired to me really pissed me off. Went for NY state inspection. Vehicle due this Jan 2024. I left my vehicle 9AM and told a couple hours. I left and waited the whole day. I got a call 4:30PM and threatened that they'll not pass the inspection unless they change an exterior bulb and charged me a total of $100 for a bulb and NY state inspection. I got my vehicle 6PM for a NY state inspection after 9 Disappointed at this place! Beware and think twice! I should have trusted my instinct not to take my vehicle here. Do not use Ozzy's for anything. Went in for a NYS inspection and tried to sell me over $2000 dollars in unneeded repairs. Failed me for tires (which another shop said it didn't need) couldn't replace the "bad tires", so left me without an inspection sticker and out $37 dollars for the failed inspection. When I asked the man at the desk he rudely pointed to a sign and said it's "the Law". Do not use them, they are scammers. read more

I'll be honest, I generally don't trust mechanics. It's hard to know what they're doing to your car and I've had more than my share of bad experiences with them. I called around to look for the best price for two sets of tires (8 tires). A young man by the name of Dennis was very patient, answered all my questions and gave me the best price. I thought that was good enough. I came in with my mother. My mother had 1 million questions and Dennis was extremely kind, polite and informative. He made us both feel comfortable with our decision of which tires to buy. Dennis is a top tier human being! While I was waiting for the tires to be changed, I met the owner Ozzy. Ozzy has a larger than life personality. His great attitude is contagious. An agitated woman came in because she had punctured her tire and he was very quick to console her and comfort her. He took care of all of his customers with the utmost respect And even injected a little bit of respectful humor to calm her down. It worked. The atmosphere was very well lit and clean. It was also very friendly. Ozzy Seemed to treat his employees with respect and had a good energy about him which seem to keep his employees happy and motivated . Now I don't know if this is an every day thing but I did take notice. He spoke to all of the customers in the waiting room while the cars were getting fixed and we all had such a pleasant experience that I joked about wanting to get my tires pinched just to come back lol It's been over a week now. They did a perfect job on my tires, aligned and inspected my car. They went a little above and beyond and were not over priced. I will definitely be coming back. The transmission went in my car, of course with no warranty. Meer and the entire staff at Ozzy's could have tried to talk me into costly repairs but were honest with the estimate and their thoughts on fixing as opposed to trading the car in. OVER PRICED. Had some work done they said vehicle needed a new hub strange because I checked them before i took car to them. It needed 2 so I purchased them and gave to them to change before they told me I needed another. I paid less the $75,00 for the 2 hubs I purchased so when they called I said change it and forgot to ask how much(my fault). Went to pick up vehicle and they charged $225.00 for a wheel hub and charged me for a full hour after going over eight minutes. Only takes one time never again and will NOT recommend this outfit to anyone!!!!!!!! read more

Ozzy's was recommended by a few friends. It's trustworthy, reliable, etc. It was taken 3.5 hours to change one tire. This place is slower than molasses. If you have a day to kill, sure, Ozzy's might be ok. But if you have minor work and have to actually get to work (to pay for the job) go somewhere else. read more

I needed snow tires on my new RAV and after shopping around online, found a good deal with Good Year. I ordered online and scheduled the installation at Ozzy's because I have a friend who uses them and always says good things about them! I showed up at my scheduled appointment and was greeted right away. I was impressed by the fact that the owner posts his cell # on a whiteboard in the waiting room! I was a little nervous when I got there that they didn't know about my online order, but a quick check in the back and they confirmed that everything was all set for me. I left with my husband and was called a couple of hours later when they were done. When I picked up my car, they handed me the receipt and the key and I drove home, no problems! Four times a repair visit and four times my vehicle comes out with a different issues. The techs always forget to reattach a cable, check engine light remains on after repairs, wrong size wipers, horn disconnected, brake calipers never reset. I'm done. read more

I left a 5 stars review on Google but I wanted to spread the words how professional this place. I had a last minute need to get my car inspected the day after Thanksgiving. While other places in the area are 1-2 weeks out for the appointment, I was able to walk in and got my car inspected within an hour. While waiting to get my car done, I have noticed how professional, polite and knowledgeable the staff is on the phone and in person with other customer. I highly recommend this place. I bought a new car a week ago. Last night I hit a terrible cover up job of the road after the Cortlandt Town Water Department did some work. No street lights so I didn't see it. It was about 4 inches deep. Destroyed my new tire. Since it's a holiday weekend all the tire places near us were busy. My husband called Ozzy's and they said to bring it over but couldn't guarantee that they would get to it. Welp about an hour later they called and said it was all fixed! I've been taking my car to Ozzy's for regular care for 8 years. They are always friendly, courteous, honest about what is wrong, what absolutely needs to be done, what might be put off a bit, what the cost will be and happy to explain the details and answer questions. They've even been honest when they felt it would be better for me to take it back to the dealer for specific repairs. They've always gone above and beyond to help with quick checks when car warning lights go on which was the case recently. Pete came out to my car, did some checking, asked one of the guys in the shop to make a quick fix and they all explained what I should watch out for that would indicate I would definitely have to bring it in. Pete is always ready with a smile, a positive word and a helpful hand. He actually cheers me up when obviously having something wrong with your car doesn't make anyone happy! Took my car to plug one tire, after picking up my car as soon as I left the parking lot, I heard a noise I made a U-turn and went back to the building. They took the car in the back, then came and got me and showed me two screws with washers attached in the front of one of the tires. I stated that they must have picked that up in the building because I drove 40 minutes to get there , it would be impossible for me not to hear that sound when I was driving .there is no way I could have had those nails in my tire. They stated that I have to replace a tire. How low can you stoop Planting nails in my tire ,You totally lost my business. I will report this to my organization that does business with you guys too and you have lost a lot of money. Not being an automotive aficionado, I had to find an auto repair place for scheduled maintenance and tires. I tried some other nearby places for tires but they weren't convenient to get to. I have tried other auto repair shops, but their capacities were limited as I needed both foreign (Volvo) and domestic cars (Tahoe) repaired. I finally landed at Ozzy's (formally) after several years of trying local (and sometimes distant) shops and found them to be honest and forthright. Ozzy's will conduct an overall inspection of the car and will relay to me what 'may' need to be addressed in the near future. They will own up to oversights and compensate you in some form or fashion, but these generally are minor items. I once vetted an inspection repair with another shop and their finding was confirmed. I always temper my expectations with auto maintenance with the recognition that all of my cars start, drive dependably. I wish the same could be said with any other complicated item with constant unscheduled usage. read more

I've been going to Ozzy's for years and honestly I'm surprised at some of the reviews I see on this page. He is always been available personally, as well as members of his team. I've never felt gypped. For me I am so glad that Ozzy is there because I love the customer service and I love being a regular and VIP member. For me I feel comfortable going to Ozzy's. I've gone to other shops in the area; however I can't say the same about them. How many other shops would Tow you back-and-forth and your car with no charge? To me that makes a huge difference. Ozzy's service station is a shame I was in the shop over a hours and everyone who brought their car in there was requested to walk into the shop. The people came out with repairs that cost a fortune to fix. Most people just agreed to have it fixed. However the guy who said he couldn't afford the proposed repair they lowered his repair cost by 40%. What a bunch of scam artists. I only deal with manager, Meer, and he's been always knowledgeable, honest and forthright about any work or repair that needs to be done to my car. I agree with other comments here about NYS inspection experiences. Laundry list of issues that would probably not be flagged elsewhere. Despite this, I resolved them on my own, took the car back and was told after 45 minutes and another complete inspection that they didn't have tags, they'd run out, unapologetic ("nothing I can do.") Why couldn't they have told me this at the outset? They don't care about customer's time and are unconcerned with repeat business. First time I was there a guy in the waiting area was muttering under his breath about their high costs and poor service. I should've heeded the warning. Never going back. read more

I liked these guys for a while, but after I bought their "club" for oil changes and discounts on service, they basically destroyed my car. The club costs $300 a year and provides free oil changes. The club offers a loaner car while your car is in for repair--it was never available on any of the three times I left the car there. My car is older, began misfiring, so my wife took it in and it was diagnosed that it needed new coils. The coils were replaced, but they broke the valve cover, which is a necessary part to keep the coils cooled. They also worked on the exhaust, which had a leak, but they failed to cure the leak. The hood has a difficult to find latch, off center, and they damaged the hood, denting it severely--I didn't notice the damage until a day after picking up the car, so I couldn't prove it was them, but it was. The coils failed again less than two weeks later and we took it to another mechanic who noted that not only had they not changed the oil, but they had not changed the oil filter, either. After they worked on it, the coils were bad, the exhaust leaked, the hood is dented, we had to replace an o2 sensor, and, over three months later and having spent another 2700 on two other mechanics for continuous problems, all of which can be traced back to the original service, our car still hasn't passed inspection. We also rented a car to cover all the times our car has been in the shop. Ozzy's destroyed our car. read more
