We had a great GREAT experience with Allied outdoor solution. We have a 4th floor rooftop patio on our townhome, and we found ourselves not sitting out there as much as we'd like, especially during the summer. We didn't quite know where to start, but got a recommendation from a neighbor to look at Allied, and we are so glad we did. Stephen came out to look at the patio, walk through our options, and get us a quote, which all took less than an hour. We let him know our biggest concern was color, and that we wanted something that would match our house, and not just a flat white color that looks out of place. So Stephen came back the very next day with samples of all different sorts of color options, we found one that matched our brown accents perfectly, and we were set! Colin was awesome too, and he took some time to visit with us on what we were looking for in more detail, what design we wanted, how we wanted the pergola spaced out for shade, fan options, outlet options, etc. He helped us lay out everything we wanted, and answered every question we had. Rodrigo and Paris were great with the construction. They got the whole thing built out starting at 8:30am, and finished by 3! It was incredible! All that materials making it up to the 4th floor with absolutely no scraping the outside of the house, and didn't have to bring in anything through the house and up the stairs. Everything was just cut and hoisted straight from the backyard to the roof. When we had one small request after completion to change the alignment of the piece that the ceiling fan would screw into, they came out and got it adjusted immediately without any hesitation. AND! They always wore masks. Whenever they were in our house they were always respectful of social distancing and sanitizing their ipads for us, etc. We so appreciated that. I've attached some before and after pictures here. It's beautiful. We love it, it looks great, it'll last forever, and we know that if we have any questions pop up down the road, that Stephen, Colin, and Rodrigo and crew will get us taken care of. The process was painless and fast. Only hiccup was a cut cable on the first day, I wasn't home the day project started. I had my own personal Allied representative in communication with me every step of the way with what to expect. They were available for any question or concern I had as well. My patio, once started was completed in 19 days! They made sure I was fully satisfied with the end results by giving me an opportunity to walk through the completed project. There were cuts made into the old slab for placement of one of the support beams. I don't like the aesthetics of it but they're small and pavers or paint will cover or blend it in. Quality of work is extremely poor. 2 weeks after finishing replacing my small driveway, a large crack appeared across the entire surface. I was told that according to the contract, we should expect "imperfections." It was obvious that this was not a small imperfection or spider line. These are pictures of the line that continues to grow and the new cracks that have developed over the past 5 months. The dark spots are broom strokes - it was never smooth. Additionally, the company is structured to pass you off to different people at each phase. In this small project, there were at least 6 or 7 people. Regardless of what they say, you DO have to repeat your request with each handoff. Not one person had the correct information. Overall, one of the worst experiences. read more

Allied came to our home to give us an estimate for building a pergola over our uncovered patio and a firepit with pergola above. They suggested a free-standing, METAL pergola (because it would be cheaper). Their estimate for all the work was $89,000. I then called another company (I have used them twice in the past but thought getting more estimates was a good idea). They are building a patio extension with a vaulted roof, electricity, new gutters, etc, integrated into the existing roofline so it will look original (not added on). They are also doing a cedar pergola for the firepit area. Our landscaper is going to do the yard work for us. This second company is doing all of that for $22,000. The landscaper is $800. PLEASE do not be taken in by their "we are better than everyone else" sales pitch. They are NOT. read more

I had my pool deck done and frankly it is poor quality. The surface has small holes which appear to be a result of air that was trapped in the mix when it was put down. These holes allow water to go into the deck and show up as big circular water spots and do not go away for several hours I finally gave up after having someone come out and had no fix except to cover the deck with more of the clear sealer. the deck is much hotter even though we were told it would be much cooler. we were told whatever we wanted to hear to get the sale closed.. really disappointed with the deck and would not recommend.. read more

I wanted to update my review of Allied now that I've had an opportunity to get the pool and see the deck at ground level. Well now I can see more more shotty work and more poor craftsmanship, uneven deck tile, sloppy corners. You can reply back with all the apologies you want to, but your company does a terrible job and you still owe me for the upgraded tile I paid for and were never installed. The walkway that was not as described in the quote. The only reason you repaired and fixed anything was because I complained and if I hadn't complained you to left this just like it. Hired them to build a small outdoor kitchen 7x12. I was very frustrated with the fact that this project took way too long. I don't understand why contractors were difficult to schedule. And When they showed up they did not complete the work correctly. Poor coordination and communication . The do-overs ended up taking up unnecessary time and adding to frustration. We were so excited to have our outdoor patio extended with an outdoor kitchen and new landscaping. Unfortunately what we were sold was not what we received. The project began in April 2021 and had numerous delays due to materials, labor and constant project management shuffles. We would put most of the blame on the lack of communication and follow through from our various project managers. One phase of the project would be "completed" and they would move on to another step. Unfortunately they didn't often finish the first phase and reassured us that the next project manager would resolve any issues. Their business model of a new project manager with each phase may make sense to them but it lacked continuity and hampered the project in our eyes. A few examples: - The concrete team poured the foundation but then didn't remove all of the forms and we had to hound the next two sets of project managers to complete that work. The concrete work was not adequate and it required cleanup because the forms burst and didn't hold. - We had a gutter/drain that was to be incorporated into the concrete and even after we asked them to move it multiple times they insisted it would be hidden. It is not and is an eyesore. - We would be given a date for when work would be done but it was often missed and we would receive no notification. Oftentimes we had arranged our schedule to be available as requested but they would no show. - The Carvestone portion of the project was the worst phase, the team tried very hard but applied the sealant wrong twice and they had to come out an additional four more times. We still have splotches and discoloration that Allied claims is "normal". Overall the project took twice as long to complete and even though we escalated to their Senior VP, issues took forever to get resolved or we just moved on. By no means are we satisfied and would not recommend doing business with this company. read more

I am very disappointed with the lack of customer service from Allied Outdoor Solutions. They installed a large patio with pavers and now the pavers are separating and sinking and it looks terrible. A professional masonry company came out and looked at it and said the corners of the patio should've been reinforced with concrete footings so that the pavers wouldn't shift when the ground shifts (as it always does here in North Texas). Last year when the problem first arose, Allied came out, removed some pavers and re-leveled them with sand. A year later, it looks even worse and all Allied wants to do is blame it on the ground shifting and repeat last year's "fix". The company they bought the pavers from also said the patio was installed incorrectly. Now I have to spend another $1600 to get it repaired correctly because Allied refuses to do it. Had carve stone installed on my patio and it started looking bad after a couple of years I had them come out and work on it at a cost of $200 and didn't even last a year and looks terrible again. If I had it to do all over again, I would not hire this company. I'd go with the standard cool deck that the pool builder offered. I had a lot of Carvestone to have installed, ending up in a $12,000 loan. It was totally confusing at first, because I was shifted around from person to person and back again, such that I had no idea who my contact was when the project was starting. The workers did a lot of standing, sitting and lying around during installation, which the rep claimed was necessary for drying, but My Word it was excessive. Lots of sleeping on the job, in my view. The final result was very nice, until it rained, the sprinkler system sprayed water over it or otherwise got wet. Right in front of the patio, there is a dip or low spot, which collects water and does NOT drain. Three months later, this has resulted in dirt embedded in the grout and overall staining of that spot. It has drastically marred an otherwise beautiful result. Their response? It will cost you $500 to fix and likely won't solve the problem, plus the color will be different. I am quite sure I'm not the first person to have this issue -- and they haven't found a workable solution yet? Unbelievable. Unacceptable. A warning to anyone who wants to hire this company -- make them thoroughly wet it all down before you sign off so you know if there are any low spots. Make sure you see it draining off. From start to finish, we could not be happier with our entire experience with Allied. Ryan came to our home over a year ago to give us an estimate for the cost of redoing our driveway, and he made a great impression. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our many questions. Right away, we felt at ease, and we immediately trusted Ryan and the rest of the company he represented! We had to delay the project when we had some unplanned expenses after a 2019 hail storm totaled a car and destroyed our roof. He checked in with us a little over time, but never in a pushy way, which made us like him even more! As soon as we were ready, we spoke with Ryan again to establish the details of the project. Once we planned to do the project, Noah, the project manager, met with us to discuss details. (And in a mask, which we appreciated!) He was also very personable and helpful in answering our questions and telling us what to expect for the project. Next, the crew came out to demolish our old driveway and sidewalk. They put in the rebar to protect our driveway from the tree roots that had destroyed the original. They then completed a beautiful cementing job on our driveway, sidewalk, and an additional sidewalk leading to the house from the driveway. I never thought I would be so excited about cement! Our driveway and sidewalks are beautiful, and very high quality. The entire time, we felt like we were in great hands, which is reassuring for such a big project. We have even had neighbors we don't know compliment us as they walk by and ask us who we used. We recommended Allied to them, and we recommend them to you! Use them and you will not be disappointed! STAY AWAY - Take your business elsewhere If I could give zero stars or even negative stars I would. This is probably the most unprofessional company I have ever dealt with. They even lie to your face. When we bought our home, it came with a carvestone patio and pool deck that had been installed by Allied Outdoor Solutions. After a few years, the patio had a few cracks and had lost it's shine, so I contacted the company to have them come in and do some repairs and reseal it. Even though their price was higher than others, I decided to go with them because they are the ones who had installed it to begin with, so I scheduled the project. They send some instructions, telling you to clear the area of any furniture and objects and that they will be arriving on the scheduled date between 8 and 10 AM. I recently had surgery, so I had to hire someone to move my furniture to my driveway. On the day that the work was scheduled to be completed, which was a Friday, they called me to cancel due to weather. It was in fact forecasted to rain, so I told them it was not a problem and scheduled the project for the following Monday. I also mentioned that I was going out of town on Tuesday, and they said that everything would be finished on that day. Monday came. I waited for the crew to show up. At 10:30, when no one had arrived, I called the maintenance supervisor whose number had been provided as well as the main office. No one even picked up the phone. I sent an email asking what time the crew would arrive, at which point they told me that the project would have to be rescheduled. Not only did I have to chase them down so that they could tell me that no one was going to show up, but they did not provide me with any reasons. They acted as if it was no big deal. I told them I thought this was extremely unprofessional. I told them that we had agreed on a date, and that I had to hire someone to move everything and that I was traveling the next day and had been assured the project would be completed that day. I also told them to cancel the project unless someone could perform the work today. Once I threatened to stop the project, the immediately said that someone would be doing it and should arrive by the early afternoon. When the one man crew finally showed up, he mentioned that he would only be power washing the area, and that all the repairs would be done the next day. I explained that that's not what we had agreed on, and he said those were the instructions he had received. What they were trying to do was trick me! They were going to start the work so that I could not cancel the project. They lied to my face and then tried to sneak one past me. Needless to say I ended up cancelling. Please, please do yourself a favor and find another company. Not only are they unprofessional but they also lie to your face and try to trick you. read more
