I was surprised that their quote was about 15% less than the best quote I had received. The quote was extremely detailed which I appreciated. I had a few questions and United answered them on the spot. The United team arrived as scheduled. I was a rainy day and they were going to need to move significant amounts of hardware over a muddy back yard. Within a few hours I had a fabulous HVAC system installed and everything is working as needed. It's a fabulous system. They even went out of their way to leave the area cleaner than it was when they arrived. I appreciated that.

I am not a roofer and had leaks at both ends of my front roof line on my house. This residence has a gutterless roof that doesn't slope correctly. I explained my problem to the service rep and he listened carefully to my concern and sold me an amazing product that not only cost less than I expected but also repaired my problem 100%. The product was Karnak Amphibicote. It can be applied wet or dry and work great. Thank you to Mr. Johnny Thompson for your friendly and knowledgeable customer service on this matter. If you have roofing issues talk to SRS first avoid those big box stores with bad service and bad advice.. Thanks again

Not greedy or grouchy…read more The story with these guys started last Friday at 4:55PM. Not knowing they close at 5, I called to ask about some roof patch tape. They were busy, so they took my number and called me back after 5. Great help, so they got an 'A' for the day in customer service. The roof tape is hard to find, and there are like 90 different variations of the product in different length and width. "Johnny" at the store was really great and helped me find the one I need (Eternabond RoofSeal, if you're interested). Calling them back today (the following Thurs), someone at their store didn't think their product had the sufficient UV rating, so I called around elsewhere. To my dismay, every other store charged upwards of $80 compared to their $68. I looked at the product manufacturer's website again and had an "I swear I remember them saying..." moment, so I called Stoneway back again. It turns out that the non-Johnny was mistaken and they did indeed stock the product with the high UV rating. Bored yet? My gorgeous wife is on her way there now to pick the stuff up. She has our baby with her and was kind of reluctant to spend time shopping around the store, so Johnny rung up the order and kept it hot on his screen so wifey just has to swipe her card and be on her way. Bottom Line: Great service, great prices, friendly guys. I always expect to be treated like an outsider by specialty contractor supply shops like this, but, again, they earn an "A" for the day. Plus, it's in Fremont rather than on the shady south end or nasty North Aurora. Yup!

I'm genuinely surprised this company doesn't have more reviews given that they've been in business…read morefor more than 30 years, so I'm posting my experience here to help more people know about them. My roof project was unusually complex. The roof was a combination of shingles and torch-down roofing, and I also wanted to build overhangs around the entire perimeter of the house to protect the foundation and exterior. My house was built in the 1940s without eaves. I contacted 12 major roofing companies, and only three had the knowledge and skills to take on the project. Even then, all three needed me to hire additional contractors for parts of the work, and their quotes were extremely high. Affordable Roofing & Construction came highly recommended by a friend's neighbor who had hired him several times. Anthony evaluated the roof and immediately understood what needed to be done. He explained the process and was very easy to work with throughout the project. Anthony always responded to my questions, showed up when he said he would, and finished the work as promised. The roof looks great and my neighbors have commented that the new overhangs look like they have always been part of the house. The smart vents he installed reduced my cooling costs, made the house much more comfortable, and reduced the strain on my HVAC system that was immediately noticeable. What impressed me most was that Anthony addressed several issues he discovered along the way, including problems with the gutters, a massive ant nest under the roof, a downspout issue, and chimney repairs. He is clearly very skilled and detail-oriented and he went well beyond the original scope of work. I've worked with many contractors during my home remodel, and this was the only times I felt comfortable not having to supervise every step of the process. Anthony sent daily progress photos and patiently answered all of my questions along the way. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I highly recommend him for all roof needs.

Anthony clearly knows roofing at an expert level and, as…read moreothers have said, focuses on helping the homeowner rather than maximizing sales/profit at any one job. Where most roofers were only interested in re-roofing our entire roof, even though it didn't need it, and of the several that came out, only Anthony actually spent time on my roof before providing an estimate. Anthony walked the entire roof, took and showed me plenty of pictures, and explained everything thing he felt necessary, a good idea (but optional), and other options for then or the future. His crew was timely, professional, skilled, reasonably (very competitively) priced, and did a great job. I'll be calling Anthony for my future roofing needs and highly recommend them!
