If you live in Boston, be aware that you can chose from several different Early Intervention…read moreproviders. You can find this list at: http://www.massfamilyties.org/directory/ei.pdf I did not know this when I started using Criterion and now regret not researching other providers. I have had a difficult time getting services for my son and have learned from others that there are better programs in Boston. They may be a good fit for you, but I would advise making sure before committing to this organization.

I have to echo the other (somewhat hidden) review. I regret not taking more time to investigate all…read morethe Early Intervention options available to me in Boston. I chose Criterion based on geographic proximity and the fact that they were the first to return my call. Very foolish, as I now realize. There are many negative things I could write about my experience with Criterion: the very patronizing, passive-aggressive manner of the woman in charge, the complete lack of follow-up as we were forcibly transferred out of Criterion and into another Early Intervention program...but for now, I'll just focus on the absolutely adversarial relationship between my child and her feeding therapist. It got to the point that my child cried as soon as this person came into our house. This "expert's" method of helping my child advance in feeding consisted of placing my child in a highchair and letting her scream indefinitely. Eventually, I realized that my child was reacting so negatively to this person because my child, the one with the label, the one with the cognitive delays, was fully aware of the fact that this therapist did not like her. When my child did make progress, she'd turn to the therapist for positive feedback, only to find her completely unaware and disinterested. I would have to actually tell her to pay attention and give some praise. After far too long, I wised up, canned the OT, and started working WITH my child, not against my child. And that, in a nutshell, is the problem with Criterion. Too many of their employees have adopted the attitude that the children and their families are the enemies, and they are continually in battle with them. I had colleagues with similar attitudes when I worked in the Longwood Medical Area, and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out why they had chosen these professions. We have switched our feeding therapy to Boston Children's Hospital and couldn't be happier. It's like night and day. The therapist actually seems to like children and I don't have to deal with the Criterion bureaucratic BS. Do yourself a favor -- look elsewhere. Your child will not be well served by Criterion in West Roxbury.

Oh where to start. Reached out to this firm based on a recommendation. All correspondence was via…read moree-mail. Determined that the price for a return was reasonable (estimated around $450-$550) plus whatever extra complications. Sent the partner my previous turbo tax file (per request) and then asked two questions regarding my tax situation. This turned into a bit of an exchange over email, even had to send some additional papers. Mind you, this is all going on way before the actual tax return. One question answered, another not, but it did not matter because I figured once the actual tax prep began I can get all the information. Get a bill a few weeks later for $400 for "emails". Yeah, brutal. Turns out that answering two questions and going over some papers will run you four hundred bucks. Naturally, I resisted as that is crazy. So he offered a discount to $300, but that was still too much. I am being charged for emails what people pay for basic tax returns? Mind you at no point whatsoever do you get warned or that you are on the clock. Few months later collector comes knocking, I explain the situation and seemingly everything is quiet. Nope, they sue me in small claims. I figured why not, there is no way this is reasonable. Feels like a giant firm fleecing the small guy. Court will surely rule in my favor. Nope, clerk magistrate barely cares about my story and rules against me. Best part? The lawyers (yes, two ) had two cases that day. Apparently I am not the only one who finds the practices of this firm shady, underhanded and sneaky. However they still got their money from me one way or another, too bad it was via the courts and not actual services. Stay the hell away folks.

Excellent work, trustworthy and reliable. After filing taxes on my own for a number of years, I…read morewish I had reached out to Stevens and Ciccone sooner! Communication was professional and thorough and they made the tax filing process easy. I can't speak highly enough of their service.

Kristin Weberg is a professional, talented and kindhearted attorney whose abilities saved my close…read morefriend from 9+ years of "mandatory sentencing guideline" imprisonment. My friend was found with guns in his dorm room that he brought from Texas (Texas-sized guns). We needed someone to help him through the court system, especially after he had fully cooperated with his investigation and his time was all but guaranteed. I interviewed multiple attorneys, and came across Kristin. Kristin helped reverse my friends "dangerousness" decree and had him bailed with zero deposit. Kristin immediately helped un-impound my friend's motorcycles, so they could stop accumulating fees and I could take them off the tow lot. Kristin understood that community engagement from our school would be important: Kristin and I coordinated 20-40 people per trial date, she solicited student support letters and more, all of which moved the court to greatly reduce my friend's sentencing. Kristin has also continued to communicate with our university to delay administrative punishment until well after the trial, when my friend will be able to represent himself with a clear mind. Thanks to Kristin, with good time my friend could be free in approximately one year with no felonies, down from 9+ of mandatory sentencing with multiple felonies. Personally I found Kristin extraordinarily kind and professional. She was able to achieve a plea bargain against a prosecutor who seemed uncommonly difficult to negotiate with, and help save my friend's life from going completely off the rails after his stupid mistake. I highly recommend Kristin Weberg to anyone looking for a defense attorney. Best, Alex

As a defense attorney, Attorney Weberg is exactly what you want on your side and in your corner:…read moresomebody who is thoughtful and experienced with the system but also genuinely cares about their clients from a deeper principled standpoint. She brings her A-game to the table, a professional for whom the work is not just a job. It's hard to convey just how important this is if you are not familiar with the inside of a court room: interacting with our criminal justice system can feel like being faced with a dispassionate uncaring brick wall, with bored court reporters, a prosecutor with her own career considerations who won't put her phone down and stop texting people from the courtroom, and bailiffs making laughing comments to each other as we all wait for the judge who is off doing something, and all the meanwhile the giant system is grinding along toward potentially doing something painful for someone you care about. In that context, when faced with an enormous unfamiliar system that is designed to dispense justice dispassionately and disinterestedly from behind a bored blindfold, what you need is a professional in your corner to help you navigate, someone who thoroughly understands the system backwards and forwards and who also cares about your best interest and wellbeing as a person. Attorney Weberg is that person, and her job feels incredibly challenging. The rule of law is imperfect and is also designed to remove opportunities for personal connection that might bias a decision. Feeling that from the inside can feel like getting sucked into the gears of a giant ticking watch, and her role is to speak truth as a thoughtful person of principle to a giant bored grinding imperfect system, and articulate to that system in ways it understands that you or someone you care about has made a mistake, but is still a person at the end of the day. It's a rare breed of person who can do that day after day and year after year for thousands of people and amass the experience needed to be a useful advocate without growing cynical and jaded, and yet Attorney Weberg has done just that. Hopefully we will never need her practice again, but if we do she is the one we will be contacting.
