I am upping my review to four stars, when I picked up my mom from the rehab she was very content, she really enjoyed the place and she said everybody was so nice, she said the PT was really good and the staff was very sweet. It's important for you to know that if you are considering Elizabeth Seaton rehab, please read this. My father was there for rehab. He developed an infection and there were no medical providers available. Despite this fatigue and shortness of breath from the infection, he was brought to PT. As his performance was not great given the infection, the PT pushed him and appeared annoyed that my father couldn't do what they wanted. The nurses are incompetent and the aids spend most of tgere time on there phones. Call lights are rarely responded to. Speaking with the higher level administrators was eye opening. No one is competent there. I am a medical professional and know what adequate care is. This facility was reported to the authorities. read more

I could not be more disappointed in this skilled rehab rehabilitation center. My loved one was under their care from a Friday afternoon to a Tuesday evening. As a diabetic, his sugars were out of control. Last night he needed to use the restroom. Two staff members were assisting him and getting there. There were items on top of the toilet and one staff member let go of him to move the items And he fell, requiring readmission to the hospital. The Emergency Room physician said he was severely dehydrated. I don't understand how this happens under their care. I happen to know their physician put eyes on him on the same day he readmitted. How she could not tell he was dehydrated I will never understand. I can tell you the nurse manager did not want to talk to me this morning, she wanted the report from the staff. But here it is. If I were you and my loved one were going into skilled rehab, I would not go near this rehab if they are in any way medically complicated. And please know I asked two people in charge if they were in a position to handle his medical complexities, and I was assured they were. read more

I found the 1 star review for the Elizabeth Seton Rehab facility in Wellesley to be unfair or at least contrary to my experience. I was in post-surgery rehab at Elizabeth Seton for two weeks in the summer of 2023. I have also done post-surgery rehabilitation at the Spaulding Rehab facility in Charleston (US News's number 2 ranked rehab facility in the country) as well as Encompass Rehab facility in Braintree, so I have a basis for comparison. I found all three rehab facilities to be excellent. Elizabeth Seton cannot compare to Spaulding in terms of the elaborateness of the physical facilities and the amount and scope of physical equipment. It is smaller, older and does not have the same amount of physical equipment. For lack of a better description, it is not as grand as Spaulding. Also, while I had a medical doctor following my progress at Elizabeth Seton, Spaulding has a wide range of medical specialists from Mass General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital immediately available (although the ambulance service from Elizabeth Seton to Mass General would provide any needed medical care available on short notice). If I needed particularly complex or intensive post-surgery rehab care, I'd choose Spaulding. But that said, the physical facility at Elizabeth Seton itself was quite nice. The attention that I received from the nursing staff and from the physical rehabilitation specialists at Elizabeth Seton was excellent (and I got quite the PT workouts). The general surroundings of the facility in Wellesley are quite pleasant. If I had to give it less than top marks in one area (and one area only), I've got to say that the food at Elizabeth Seton is not exactly fine dining. I've just undergone surgery (again) at Mass General Hospital and will again need rehab. For insurance purposes, my case manager at Mass General Hospital asks me to list three choices for a rehab facility. I am listing Spaulding (although that is probably overkill for my present rehab needs), another rehab facility in Wellesley and Elizabeth Seton. I'm listing Elizabeth Seton as my top choice, primarily because I live in Wellesley which makes it easier for my family to visit. But based on my actual experiences with both Spaulding and Elizabeth Seton and my present post-surgery rehab needs, the care that I anticipate needing and getting (again) at Elizabeth Seton is no less than the care that I received at prior stints that I've had at Spaulding. For these reasons, I give Elizabeth Seton a five star review. read more

I guess it's a question of priorities, but most people go to rehab for the therapy, not the food. And the therapy is consistently excellent at Elizabeth Seton. The OTs and PTs at Elizabeth Seton are top-notch--skilled and compassionate. They know the right balance to strike between pushing patients to progress and keeping them safe and free from setbacks. They create a realizable plan for each patient and then ensure continuity by having the same OT and PT work with the patient most of the time. I was very impressed with the results in my mom's stroke rehabilitation. In addition, the therapists provided ample encouragement, and importantly did so with a sense of humor and a friendliness that my mom and us siblings deeply appreciated. As far as the nursing staff, If you treat them with kindness, I guarantee they will more than repay your kindness with compassionate care. I found the nurses to be friendly and detail-oriented, excellent with requests and follow-through. The nurses' aides varied a bit more, but the majority were attentive to my mom's needs, others were decent, and one or two less so. And, for the record, I ate the food several times when I was visiting my mom in rehab, and it was consistently fine. If you don't like the choice of entrees, you can always ask for something else. And if you're going to a rehab for a gourmet food experience, you're probably there for the wrong reasons. The enthusiastic activities staff is like the rest of the staff--friendly, encouraging, and caring. read more

This is the best. My mother has been a resident for two years. She receives excellent care. If you are unhappy with ESR, you are suffering from unrealistic expectations since this is one of the few 5 STAR rated senior care facilities in Massachusetts. read more

Elizabeth Seton Residence provides superior care and assistance to residents. Each room is private with it's own private bathroom.

Terrible non-English speaking staff who dont give a darn about you whatsoever. The place is not in great condition, and the food was inedible. I left and would never ever go back! Very unhappy - and frustrated with such a negative experience. read more
