They lost my mom's antique furniture. Who cares if it's insured? It's not replacable. Non-existent customer service.

The airport is fairly small, and can get pretty congested during busy times, but that is legit any airport at this point...good thing with DCA is it is fairly well laid out, thoughtful with the restaurant and shopping options, clean, and in good condition for an aging and busy airport. Getting to and from is easy as well. The ride share areas is easy to find and as long as everyone follows the lay of the land, getting scooped up or dropped off is not a big hassle. While I usually do not take advantage, the Metro is available here and is easy to navigate to and from. Security for the terminals was easy to navigate and did not take long at all, especially for pre-check. Overall, DCA is a my go-to airport when flying in and out of DC, especially when Atlanta or Nashville are on the other end of my flights. Always easy with solid flight schedules.

It was easy to get to Baggage Claim. Once I got my luggage, though, there weren't any signs inside the airport directing where the Uber and Lyft pickup was. It was only when I walked outside when I saw the different zones to wait. Overall, from deplaning to getting my luggage at baggage claim to waiting at the curb for Uber, it was no more than 30 minutes. The wait for the Uber driver was extra. Not bad!

Well how nice that Terminal A has its own Yelp page! I have no idea how it has so many stars though…read moresince I don't even want to give it one. This is the smallest, most cramped and poorly laid out pitiful excuse for a terminal I've ever been in. It appears to have not been updated since they built it. The bathroom is narrow, small, and dirty. There is one restaurant. There is one bar, with hardly a variety of severely overpriced drinks. There is no store but items for purchase are laid out along the walls of the hallway out of the central pit area. There is nowhere to walk to if you have a long layover in the same terminal, unless you want to go through TSA again to get back into it. To top it off, the effing HEAT was on in this tiny cesspool while it was 80 degrees outside. This is one of those places that need to be just entirely torn down and started all over again with a completely different layout. It's a disaster. It 100% fits in perfectly with the catastrophic mess that is the entire DC area currently. A bit too on the nose. I'll be avoiding it at all costs from now on and advise everyone else to do the same.

The flight attendants were especially helpful and professional making this a great experience. I did experience a snafu on my most recent AA and missed an international flight connection with the delay. Am I mad? No, because this seems to be the new world of flying. Plus the delay is attributed to the recent air disaster in MIA. They have flight restrictions. I recommend American and will continue to use them in the mix. But I'm not loyal to one line any longer.

Now, it's American Airlines that I frequent, along with past America West Airlines and US Airways patrons. I find that, as with any other airline, customer service is often better than not, but there are always a few hiccups. With American Airlines, you can get someone on the phone, on a chat, on social media, or in person to assist, and with some respect on our part, we can often get what we need. I rarely have luggage issues, though there was one time when my bag was damaged, and American Airlines gave me a replacement while they repaired my original. I regularly fly in and out of the American Airlines gates at Phoenix Sky Harbor and frequent hubs like Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago O'Hare, Philadelphia, and Charlotte. I even make it out to Washington DC on occasion, having either visited the area or have a layover through as I did today. Often, my travels require a connecting flight, and my flights are, more often than not, on time and without delays in departure or arrival. With status, an American Airlines credit card, and membership in CLEAR and Global Entry, I do not pay for luggage, receive priority luggage handling, board early, speed through security, sometimes receive upgrades, and access lounges. Traveling has become more of a hobby and a habit, and with American Airlines as my go-to airline, I accumulate miles quickly while also earning status and Loyalty Point rewards. I have two travel premium credit cards: the AAdvantage Executive Mastercard, which offers complimentary Admirals Club access, and the American Express Platinum card, which offers lounge access, travel credits, and complimentary CLEAR and Global Entry memberships. With these two credit cards, I can access the Admiral's Club at Orlando International Airport or The Club at MCO. I may even be able to visit the Plaza Premium Lounge, though I've never checked. Also, through T-Mobile, I received free Wi-Fi on American Airlines flights (though now it is free for anyone with an AAdvantage account). Through my American Airlines AAdvantage status, I get upgrades or free paid snacks and drinks on flights, along with other benefits. To retain status each year, you need to earn Loyalty Point through flying, credit card spending, and promotions. You can also earn Loyalty point rewards after hitting 175,000 points, 250,000 points, and so on. While it is difficult to receive upgrades due to the large number of people at the Executive Platinum status tier, the benefits I do receive are worthwhile. I have also experienced technical issues on flights, but not enough to cause me to abandon American Airlines, especially when every other airline faces the same challenges. All in all, American Airlines is a great company and does as well, if not better than, any of the other major airlines.

The terminal is as limited as the flight options, no real outlets or places to spend your time, especially when delayed, but when making a quick entry and/or getaway, it gets the job done. Both directions I was sadly delayed, which is odd for SWA, at least for me. Nothing more than an hour one way and 30 minutes the other, but still noticeable. Gate agents were standard and friendly, and the flight crew was okay. Overall, not my favorite spot or leg of SWA flights, but when in need, SWA at DCA works.

Or perhaps it was the way they just THREW my bag onto the conveyer belt right in front of me (no hiding the bag brutality). Yes. I think that's what it is - the utter disrespect for one's property in your face. Before the purchasing seats it used to be quite disorganized with the onboarding process (cat herding) but now with assigned seating (cattle herding) it seems to be better, however the gate agents always appear to be angry and speaking loudly to toddlers all the time. On the upside, the planes appear newer but if the FA's also seem angry and annoyed with their job, it's all moot. Ticket fares are affordable. I guess you get what you pay for.

Sitting in the middle of the nation capital,…read moreit offers flights that provide easy access to the center of the city due to the location and this means often times the quickest way to get into the city when you're traveling there or leaving there. Our complaint would be utilizing the rental car service at this airport is difficult if your hours are not during standard operating hours. If the flight is an early departure, it can be difficult to get around because the airport does not offer shuttle service from the rental car area to the main terminal area during early hours. Additionally, we found rental cars were sorely underserved and were forced to wait more than two hours upon arrival to get our rental car. This was the same across all major rental car brands. So much so, that customers in each of the different brands were seeing cars picked off as they became available by the other rental car counters. It was a strange and inconvenient if not aggravating situation.
