I called for assistance and his Voicemail clearly stated he was busy for the day and would not be able to respond until the following day. But, he called same day (exceeded expectation) and was able to fit me into his schedule. he showed up and kept me informed of how the locks worked, what he would need to do and accomplished it quickly. So nice and competent. We had a specialty lock on a living room double door that was supposed to be fixed by seller before leaving but we walked into holes in that lock/deadbolt side of the door and wind blowing through on the first day after closing. Only had the old handles and faceplates, new lock case and new deadbolt assembly. Spoke to Allen - sent pictures - NO SCREWS or BOLTS of any kind had been left behind. Could not put the new parts into the door. He suggested calling the manufacturer on the paperwork of the replacement hardware that was left. We called Baton Lock and got a lot of advice about what might be needed. They referred us to a 'hardware expert' in Scotts Valley (3 hours from where we are) and he was informative as well but too far to physically help. Allen continued to follow up with us about the status and offered to come by and see what he could rig up so at least we would have a door that closed, even if it didn't lock. (We had been using bricks against the inside panel to keep it from opening spontaneously at night.) Well, Allen had the parts and was creative about the deadbolt placement and need to increase the height of the deadbolt hole on the other side so it would insert properly (dremel cutting, filing, etc). There was only one part he did not have in his truck and we found a solution at the local hardware store. Really had no idea how to get it all to come together until Allen appeared in person and step by step, got this specialty lock to fit into place on this metal double door with glass inserts. I asked this guy to help me out with new locks and keys on a cabin in the mountains. He was busy with some other job, but because I told him I was time constrained, he left the other job, drove an hour to meet me, and did the work quickly and well. I wanted to get an additional deadbolt installed on my office door for added security. Allen returned my call within an hour of my voicemail to him and was able to come out the next day - even though I am located in Angels Camp! My business is located in a historic building so my door is a little unique in dimension, but he knew how to work with that and gave attention to every detail, such as matching the existing lock brand and color perfectly, and suggested an added plate detail to match the existing door knob style. Then he re-keyed the new lock to match the current so I don't need 2 sets of keys. I thought his price was wonderful and I couldn't be happier. On top of that, he was very nice and professional.
