Rick was amazing from the start. I called him over the weekend when most people wouldn't pick up and he answered right away in penciled me in for the day that I needed. The location that I need the job done was definitely quite a drive away and I'm sure most people would not be very enthusiastic to drive that far but Rick came out very quickly helped get the job done and the locks changed on the property I needed, he even went back to the property a second time leaving his kid's birthday party just to take care of me. I have used Rick twice since I moved to Sonora. The first time, he came out and replaced an old door knob/lock and added a deadbolt. Rick definitely saved our day. We lost our rental car key sledding Yosemite and only realized at 4pm Sunday, with work at 8am Monday in SF. Rick was the only locksmith within 100 miles, and we called with a not-so-subtle hint of desperation around 6 after searching a half dozen hills for the illusive keys. After chasing down another locksmith in Stockton to retrieve the modern electronic key necessary for our 2015 kia, he drove what totaled 180 miles, over some sketchy icy roads, to meet us deep in the valley by 10:30pm. Fingers, arms, and eyes crossed, the car-key handshake worked, and we were stranded and freezing no more! Horrible. I called this business, as it was the first one that popped up on google, and a guy answered the phone as "locksmith". I told him my situation, and he gave me a quote, which he said would cost more because it was on a Sunday. I told him i'd give him a call on Monday because I was in no hurry and it would be about $50 cheaper. He then called me back about 5 minutes later and told me he was close to my house and he would give me a discount because I knew a locksmith. He came to my house and I told him I had a lockpick set of my own that I was using and I know my way around locks ( as a hobby, im a novice ) and he proceeded to tell me its illegal in CA to possess a lock pick set. I informed him it was not illegal to posses in my own house, and he told me "cops dont care" I then told him that i've done my research, im not an idiot when it comes to locks/lockpicks/ca laws/ ect. and to not bullshit me. He got pissed and left. Horrible horrible person. To misinform his clientele about the legality of his profession which is false, completely unprofessional. read more

What a life saver Rick was!!! We had a blowout on 120, took AAA almost 3 hours to locate us to which they could not help so they towed us to Sonora. Tire shops that were open couldn't help us with our locked lug nuts so we felt stuck until a tire shop that might be able to help would open the following day. We had a family member recommend calling a locksmith to try and help. After calling a few #'s and them all saying they couldn't help we were pleased to have Rick answer and say "Yes I can Help You" but he was on a job in Yosemite and it would take him awhile to get to us. He not only checked in with us during our wait but he also recommended picking up certain supplies from the auto store before it closed. Once he arrived he dove right in working on getting our lug nut off. He had to go get his bigger truck which was pretty quick and in no time at all he had our lug nut off and helped my boyfriend change the tire too. What a great guy, super helpful, honest and friendly. If that wasn't enough he called us the next morning to make sure we got home ok on the spare tire which we had a 3 1/2 hour drive home after our long ordeal. I called to see if I could get some keys made for two tool chests. Rick suggested I look for numbers around where the key goes in and call Sears since both were Craftsman. I did that and was able to purchase those but not for the older tool chest so I called Rick back and gave him the numbers, he said he would check and call me back the next day but if he didn't to call him so I did and he wanted me to check the numbers again so I did and he said he would check for them and call me back. I received a call back and he had located a locksmith near by that had the blanks needed to make the other set of keys and gave me all the information to give the other locksmith. I think it was very nice of Rick to do the research and give me the information. I will use Rick again if I ever need anything and will recommend him to anyone needing a locksmith. read more
