I brought several items here for alterations and was very disappointed with the results. The workmanship was not at a professional level--hems were uneven, seams were puckered, and the overall finishing looked rushed and careless. Unfortunately, a couple of the pieces were altered to the point that they're no longer wearable, which is incredibly frustrating given the cost of both the clothing and the service. I chose this business expecting basic tailoring standards and attention to detail, but that wasn't my experience. I brought pants to be tapered. The cost was a little high but the workmanship was terrible. All of the extra material from the tapering was left in the pants and caused a terrible bunching. I returned them for the shoddy workmanship and they rather haphazardly made a form of correction. In all honesty, I could not recommend this establishment. The laundry services are a bit on the high side too as them send out all of the laundry. read more

I paid for $50 for the alterations on two dresses. the first dress was to be hemmed. when I went to wear the dress it had not been hemmed at all. the second dress needed straps reinforce. the straps were sewn twisted. AWFUL & no accountability! Although they were in pristine condition without any defects or stains, I brought my grandmothers leather gloves to be cleaned as they had been in a box for years I thought i should get them cleaned & conditioned. Owner told me she sends them out to a top notch leather cleaner. I asked if they would shrink or anything I need to be concerned about, she clearly indicated "no no no, this company is very good & they will not shrink". I picked them up & they were covered in stains, torn & two sizes smaller. When I asked her what happened she aw they were like that when you brought them. I firmly told her they were not & then she came up with another excuse saying I told you this might happen. I firmly replied that you never told me but to the contrary, you told me this would NOT happen. She then proceeded to charge me 60$. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

I've only had one experience with them, and I'll say it was extraordinary. I was getting married in Asbury Park the weekend of the Nor'Easter, and I needed to have my dress pressed since I live 3.5 hours away and it had to travel with me in the car. I dropped off an ivory colored wool coat and my fiance's white dress shirt to be cleaned - both came back with large purple stains (what I assume is dry cleaning fluid) both abstract and in a distinctive dot/grid pattern. The cleaners refused to admit that they stained the clothing and blamed us, then wanted to still charge for the items. That coat was $450 and was my only formal winter jacket. read more

So disappointed! After reading the few reviews on here, I was excited to have them alter my bridesmaid gown. When I dropped it off (for it to be hemmed and cups added) they told me it would be $80. I was a little shocked at the price since those are two simple tasks. Anyways they were packed when I picked up my dress and I was unable to try it on there. When I got home I was so disappointed to find that it was too long still, it wasn't pressed and the cups were not placed correctly and my chest looked very strange. Luckily the cups were barely even sewn in and one of them actually popped right off as I tried it on and the other one was easily taken off. What a waste of money! Terrible service!!!! Was a great costomer of theirs for three years. They used to pick up and drop off my clothes. One week i couldnt find a sweater of mine, and when i kindly called them to ask about it they insisted on telling me that they "handed" it to me. Two weeks later a very nice man from oakhurst vet( who allenhurst cleaners does buisness with) called me and dropped off my sweater which was dropped off accidently by them. When i then called allenhurst cleaners to explain to them that it was their mistake and it was found the lady would not even utter the words " I AM SORRY". Instead she continued to tell me that i was lying and not do buisness with them ever again!!! What kind of buisness woman is this?? All i was looking for was an apology ! It was that simple!
