Duke Electric

I contacted Duke about wiring and installation of 3 fans…read more Of the 4 different electrical contractors that we contacted he was the most responsive and understood exactly what we needed, even though I sent the same message via Yelp to the other contractors. His pricing was similar to the others and he understood that I didn't want any drywall damage. The others could or would not accomodate this request. He was flexible about the day and time for installation and worked around remote work meetings schedules and separate fan delivery from Home Depot. He was able come by on a Friday and his crew were able to pre wire in everything in a couple of hours without any holes in the drywall by pulling the wire through the existing conduit. The fans arrived the next day on Saturday and he was able to again accomodate the remote work meeting schedule and able to install these very nice fans in a couple of hours and even immediately corrected the tilted rod that one of his crew had installed incorrectly. I am a perfectionist and one of the most difficult people to impress and gotta say I was very impressed. We were impressed by his communications, punctuality, and flexibility. We recommend Duke Electric for any electrical jobs whether they are large or small.

Knowledgable team but beware of up-charges…read more Duke and his team were able to detect the problem quickly in our home when other electricians had failed so I give him due credit for it. However, we discussed in detail over the phone that his initial fee would cover diagnostics and repair if done within the first hour. As soon as the team found the issue (10mins) they figured a socket needed to be relocated. Immediately an upcharge of $100 was mentioned on grounds that it was too much additional labor. They put a new socket and plate but it did not feel justified for the up charge. They were out within the hour. EDIT: Within 10mins of the neutral review I got a text message from the owner threatening to report to the city on some work where they had no knowledge of how/ where/ what was done. I responded that they don't need to blackmail and that it will posted on yelp too (screenshot attached). Immediately I got a call where the owner started to put up a fight. Never seen such practice. Just for this I have taken a star off!

We had a great experience with Kenneth (Ken) from DalCon Electric. He was professional, patient,…read moreand very helpful throughout the entire process. Ken worked with us over three visits to make sure we ended up with the right solution. He first came out to provide the estimate, and after an initial option didn't quite meet our needs, he came back and installed an outdoor motion-sensor LED security light that works perfectly for what we wanted. The new light is impressively bright--even during the daytime while Ken was installing and testing it, we could immediately tell how much light it puts out! The motion sensor and light intensity work very well for our needs. What impressed us most was Ken's attention to detail. He added a box between the wall and the light so the wiring could fit properly and the installation would look clean and professional, and he did it at no additional charge. We really appreciated his patience and willingness to work with us until we were completely satisfied rather than just getting the job done and moving on. We're very happy with the final result and would definitely recommend Ken and DalCon Electric.

They have a good YouTube channel, which is how I was referred to them. Christian came for the quote…read moreand was a true pleasure to work with. The main electrician who first came was a bit rough around the edges and used a Sharpie on my main panel. I appreciated that Christian came back to properly label it. I also enjoyed scheduling with Steven. The process took a while; they're very busy, but it's worth the wait for my subpanel and EV charger. There were a few idiosyncricities with my installation. Cupertino has a very rigorous inspection process with a 3rd party vendor. I initially failed the inspection, and then the city realized that they had overreached. It caused some confusion on Dalcon's end, and communication became spotty, but the job was basically finished so it was all ok.

Trout Electric did an excellent job for me replacing my 3 flourescent light units in the kitchen…read morewith the newer LED type. The pricing was fair, and the employees were prompt, profesional, and courteous. Definitely recommend this company.

We needed new electrical panels installed because our HOA was super paranoid about getting dropped…read moreby our insurance. First it was Willow Glen electric & now it's Trout. I didn't appreciate the urgency (she said I needed it done asap, when I had at least 4 to 5 months). Aside from that, the communication from the project manager was competent & efficient. When Trout took over communication went haywire. During the city permitting process they said in their letter to me that I just needed to be home for (think the window was 8:30 to 9:45am). They said nothing about having to keep opening and closing my garage door access. Well, I refuse to use my PTO from work because they're not sure how long they're going to be, or the start and end times. So around 3 PM at work I got a frantic text from another (different) project manager asking me to open my garage. Well, hello, there is no power, so how can I open the garage? Finally, they got that sorted out and around 5 PM one of their techs asked me to open my garage. I never got a response back from him when I asked to confirm if he was done and I could shut it again (by the way, I was doing this remotely from work since I have an app.) Communication needs to greatly improve in order for me to recommend this business.
