I worked with B. Jowers Painting and have NOT had a good experience to say the least. In the…read morebeginning it was going great; he sent over a bid to "prepare and finish cabinets," which consisted of touching them up and painting them. Sounded reasonable so we setup the times of when he and his workers would come in. The first day he sends over contractor1, WITH NO TOOLS. We sent him home and asked him to come back, prepared. Monday rolls around and contractor1 arrives, does his work on the cabinets. Next day painter2 and painter3 (all under B. Jowers Painting Co.) came and said that the work contractor1 did was not good and still needs more work. Wow. So contractor1 comes, to my assumption finishes the work, and leaves. Painter2 and painter3 then need to BORROW OUR TOOLS (orbital sander and sanding disks) to prepare the cabinets more. They paint and leave. All looks good. However, 2 days later I'm ready to put my food and plates away in the cabinet and what do I see? Cracks all throughout the wood. Why? Because they painted over the contact paper. If they're supposed to be prepping cabinets, wouldn't removing the contact paper be part of prepping? Very very very disappointed.

The team at Dejer Tile did a fantastic job installing large-format thin porcelain tile for our new…read morefireplace surround (a 5' square area). My wife and I are extremely pleased with the high-quality result. Because this type of tile is still fairly new and less common, I noticed that a lot of the tile contractors I contacted here in the South Bay didn't seem to know how to handle this job. Many other contractors proposed techniques that were clearly wrong. In contrast, Jonathan from Dejer Tile stood out by observing upfront that this type of tile is fragile and the installation needs to be done delicately. He knew what to do, and gave me a lot of confidence in his experience and expertise. And the entire job went very smoothly. The team were very careful in their templating for the tile cuts, paying a lot of close attention to both aesthetic impact and practical considerations. And they performed the installation two weeks later, with top-notch results. I was very pleased with how well they handled all the little details, including tiny but uniform grout lines (1/16") and clean edge finishes. I will definitely call upon Dejer Tile again for future tiling jobs, especially anything that involves thin porcelain tile.

He didn't have one so I gave him one and his response was I thought Covid was over. This is important to me because I am on active chemo and a 4 time cancer survivor. Frankly, I can't believe someone would be that ignorant. Then, I asked for current copies of business license, Worker's Comp. contractors, license, etc. to which he presented me with copies that had expired in April of this year. I asked him if he could please provide me with the current copies. He then got copies from his office again acting like he was annoyed and said well is it important? Yes it's important. I asked him if he could please email me the copies of the current licenses to which he refused and said we'll go find them on our website I said can't you just email them to me you have them right there he refused. He then refused to give me the quote, and just just left with some cryptic and cynical remarks, and said I'm not gonna quote you As far as I'm concerned, time is money and I arranged my schedule to be there for this appointment if they're unprofessional on a quotation estimate, I can only imagine how negative it would be if I was to hire them. Furthermore, when I asked for the address of their business I was told they're located out of Los Angeles. I inquired if they didn't have a location in the bay area he finally admitted that they did have a location in the bay area The whole thing was extremely unprofessional, and did not reflect well on the company. I should charge them for MY time. Personally if that sales person were my employee I would fire them.
