Allen responded very quickly to my inquiry for a quote on Yelp. He gave me a quote for steam cleaning and deodorizing the 2nd floor of my home as well as the stairwell. He was not the cheapest carpet cleaner I spoke to, but from our call I could tell he was passionate about what he does and that he would do a great job. Our carpets were very beat up and had stains and smells from the previous owners' pets. Allen was very professional- he gave me tips on how to maintain our carpet and also how to restore and maintain the other types of flooring throughout my house. I also asked him about steam cleaning the tile in my laundry room because I could smell that a dog had peed there before, and he was honest with me. Although he could have tried to sell me additional services, he said that the smell was probably not coming from the tile, but rather the carpet in front of the laundry room. He pointed out the discoloration on that carpet section from where the previous owners used strong chemical cleaners. He suggested I try to steam mop the tile myself rather than try to sell me on having them do it. Overall, I am very happy with the results of the steam clean. The carpets look brand new, but unfortunately the pet smells have not completely gone away. I don't think any steam cleaner could have helped as it is likely soaked into the carpet pad. I sent Allen a message as I was impressed with all his amazing reviews. I was debating between going with Hi Tech or one other company. He responded and said the information I gave him wasn't enough and I should give him a call. No answer, but I sent him a message and asked him to call me back at his earliest convenience. Once he gave me a call back I told him exactly what I had said in the message and asked him for the pricing. He quoted me $165 and asked when I wanted to book the appointment. I mentioned that I was quoted a slightly lower price at another company ($150) and I was going to move forward with them. Then he very rudly mentioned how they wouldn't do as good of a job. Feeling awkward I just mentioned that I was just getting a few quotes for my grandmother and trying to keep in a budget. He then said "Oh you don't care about your grandma". In shock I asked him to repeat himself (as maybe I didn't understand what he meant). He then said because I didn't want to pay an additional $15 I didn't care about my grandmother. So weird and extremely off putting. Wish he would have just given me the price over yelp so I didn't have to have that awkward interaction.
