Repair crew came and pulled off shingles and then said the shingles on the whole roof were bad. After some heated discussion (feeling blind sided) I OK'd the Re shingle of the entire roof for $11500. The crew came 2 days later as agreed and began removing all the shingles. They then tell me the plywood is dried out and won't hold the nails. Will need to either replace all the plywood or install a water shield over all the existing plywood after replacing any rotted sheets for an additional $6500. What am I supposed to do. I wasn't able to get further estimates in the middle of all the work so I was stuck with whatever they said was required. Once they started I noticed the GAF Timberline shingles as stated on the estimate were switched to Atlas Pinnacle. Said the color I chose wasn't available so they swapped for these. The color was not the same but the shingles were already delivered. Anyway, I don't like all these sudden changes and the pressure tactics. I had to scramble to come up with the $18000 total. They should've done a more thorough inspection so I could've gotten a couple estimates to make sure this was all necessary. Oh well...they did the work in one day and cleaned up nicely. Hope it all lasts a good long time with no issues.

What was presented as full mold removal turned out to be limited "dry-out" mitigation, an important distinction never made clear at contract signing. A job estimated at 3-4 days stretched to nearly three weeks, with unfulfilled appointments, late arrivals after I took time off work, and understaffed crews. Communication was poor. Technicians repeatedly cited insurance "approvals" as an obstacle, despite my carrier stating this was solely my responsibility and after I had already authorized full remediation. I was told the work was complete, only to discover visible black mold still present inside the wall cavity of my toddler's bedroom (see photo), requiring double the amount of demolition. They also charged for work that was not performed, such as detaching appliances that had already been moved to discover the leak. Third-party post-work air testing showed elevated & unsafe mold levels, and Restoration 1 never provided a clearance report, invoice, or written confirmation that the home was safe for habitation, despite multiple requests. It later became cleark they were working only to the initial insurance estimate rather than fully remediating the mold. Project management was disorganized, the project manager never identified themselves as such nor inspected the site in person, and coordination with the referring plumber did not occur - leaving time sensitive logistics up to me. Nearly a month later, I had not been contacted about reconstruction and I now have to hire another company to complete both remediation and reconstruction, so I cannot recommend Restoration 1.

With the Thanksgiving holiday and rain coming he had over a dozen workers on the roof and knocked the job out. The most important point is Donald the owner. He is a roofer and not a salesman. My home is old and had 45 year old skylights that were an odd size. The replacement required a skilled contractor and Donald the owner was on the roof directing the replacement. PERFECT. During the project a few issues that were not anticipated cropped up. They were ALL corrected and no change in price. It does not get any better then the work they did on my home.

Most recently a basement overhaul to use the space as a social/entertaining area. As with earlier projects, we are totally pleased with all aspects of their work. They tiled the entire floor area, painted the walls and installed new lighting. They even installed a large wall TV. While I have no reason to doubt the negative reviews, that has never been our experience. I would not hesitate to contact them for projects in the future.
