The original timeline of 3 weeks ended up being close to 6...and the job still isn't done (they disappeared after receiving final payment.) The owner of the company was rarely on-site to work or to supervise. When he did show up it was always hours later than promised. Many serious (and stupid) mistakes were made during the renovation process. They were corrected in the end, but not without ramifications (e.g. a hole in our OTHER bathroom and a leak in our roof.) Get It Done Home Improvements promised to secure all permits and arrange inspections, as is standard. Neither was done. And when we questioned him, he lied to us. Overall the work was sloppy, rushed and not completed as promised. And now we have to hire another contractor to finish the job.

Scott's was the only firm that just said, rip it off and put on a new one with GAF roofing. He said that he in good faith could not recommend replacing the tiles, about 50 of them, because he was not sure if it would be fully repaired. Other roofers said they would replace the 50 tiles. When I asked if he'd guarantee that replacing the slates would work, they hedged and one implied that since I was moving, it only had to work for a brief time. Ignoring that, I decided to use Scott's to replace the roof. And their prices were highly competitive. Unlike other roofers, they complete each piece of the roof that they are doing that day, and do not use tarps. They said they don't use subcontractors, and Scott's son was the foreman of the crew. They arrived on time and cleaned as they went. Under the slate roof was a cedar shingle roof. It turns out that one portion of the roof did not have cedar underneath, so they just had to remove the slate. They refunded the difference in the price. The window sills on the third floor were rotted on one side of the house, but not on the other, so only half of them had to be replaced. There is no way I would know any of this. I wouldn't know if there were shingles where and which window sills were rotted. The fact that they handled these issues they way they did shows their inherent honesty in their business processes. I now have a beautiful, GAF covered roof. I only wish I had done it years ago. I cannot recommend this firm highly enough. They are one of the best, if not the best vendor, I have ever used.

I am not one to usually leave negative reviews, let alone ANY reviews, but my experience with this company left me no choice but to leave one. I have a bulkhead up on my roof and, prior to calling this roofer, I went up myself to inspect it. There was absolutely no visible damage. I reached out to them simply to get a quote for general roof maintenance and to add a layer of silver coating. However, the quote I received back included multiple "areas of repair" and alleged damage that was supposedly extensive and required immediate attention. The issue? This "damage" was non-existent before their visit. James, the person who came to do the inspection, performed both a drone and physical inspection. After his visit, I was shocked to see that several areas he claimed needed repair looked tampered with. I did not have before photos to prove my point, but based on my own prior inspection, I am confident that these so-called problem areas were not there beforehand. It truly feels as though damage was created during the inspection in an attempt to upsell unnecessary work. This is not only unethical but incredibly disappointing. I called for an honest maintenance quote, not to be manipulated into paying for repairs I didn't need. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company to make sure you take detailed photos of your roof before any inspection or quote. My experience has completely eroded my trust in their honesty and professionalism. Save yourself the extra cost and go with someone else.

If I had a smaller job in mind that might not have mattered to me but when I do a large job I like a company with support staff. (For me, two talented guys in a van and a wife who answers the phone is just fine for most work). I can attest they do upsell but I had no work done I did not need. I had made an effort to research roofing and gutter materials beforehand. I strongly advise interviewing other roofing/ gutter companies first and asking questions about installation and what *exact* materials they will use. Dior will send out a salesperson who will review the work you want done and the materials they will use. I was offered a discounted price for making my decision the same day and would not have felt comfortable accepting that discount if I had not spoken to several other vendors first. I don't like to make that kind of decision under pressure. I had looked at Dior because my usual preferred vendor would not install any shingles to replace those that might break when they removed them to install flashing up the sides where different roofline levels met. Dior will work with siding shingles as well as other siding. My site supervisor came each day, reviewed the job when it was done and sent a crew back for a minor adjustment. My only complaint was with the container company that drove over my lawn and sidewalk, cracking the blue stone sidewalk and leaving a tire impression in the lawn.

Morris Renovations was referred to me and they came out immediately. I have had other roofing companies come out and this is the first time that a thorough check was done and I got real answers. In the past, I was told "you need a new roof" and I knew I had about 5 yrs left on the roof, I have paid for "patch jobs" and still I knew something was wrong because I can see the plastic buckling on one section of my wall that had been repairs before. Luis came out from Morris Renovations and he found active leaks that I didn't even know about and no one else saw. He also saw that instead of the leak I knew I had being properly fixed, tar was placed over the leak. When he came back to do the repairs he took pictures. There was a hole in the wood under the shingles; a large hole. So the "tar" which should never have been used, actually did nothing. We had snow the next day and then pounding rain on 1/9/24 and I was not worried about water dripping on me as I slept! Great, thorough, honest work.

Morris Renovations kept blaming the delay on the factory and on covid. I find it very hard to believe because this was late 2021, the first half of 2022 when covid wasn't that big of a deal anymore. Also, I picked Marvin windows which are made in the US using Canadian lumber. Regardless, during those 8 months, it was incredibly tough to get in touch with anyone from Marvin who could provide me an update. My "project manager" Roman was nowhere to be found and would not return my calls. The guy who answers the phone just said he didn't know anything. For "security reasons" he would not provide me a direct number for Roman so I basically had no way to reach my supposed "project manager". You can't just take a 7K deposit and go MIA. Anyway, I was just about to lose all hope, when, miraculously, after 8 months, my windows were finally ready. On the day of installation, however, it turned out that one of my windows had been "misplaced" and no one could tell me where it was or when I could get it. 2 weeks later, they "found" my window. We set up a new install date, only to get it rescheduled with less than 24h notice. I didn't even get an apology. I'm still waiting on that missing window.... Now, as to the installation itself, it was far from top-notch workmanship. I had to go around and ask the guys to add more insulation foam in spots they had missed. They scratched and damaged the new windows in a couple of places, and they broke the molding on the interior so now I have to get that replaced too. Their caulking looks like a 2-year-old did it. To top it all off, they almost yelled at me for picking a big bow window with fixed panes because it is harder to install without specialized equipment that Morris does not have. All in all, my experience with Morris Renovations was extremely disappointing. After spending the equivalent of a new car, I was expecting to at least get quality to match the price. Sadly, all Morris has to offer is good salespeople. Once you've signed on the dotted line, you will get nothing but frustration and disappointment. Learn from my mistake and find a better contractor. UPDATE: I finally got my missing window. After reading my original review, the guys really tried their very best this time. Their best is just not good enough, unfortunately. They didn't use house wrap to prevent water intrusion. They didn't shim any of my windows. They somehow managed to over-tighten some screws and had nails popping out on the finished side of a 10K bow window. Not to mention all the scratches and dents they managed to put in. Their caulking is still deplorable. And they should not be allowed to touch moulding or any finished carpentry. I am mostly mad at myself because instead of going with the contractors I know, I decided to spend a little more for "professional window installers" thinking they would actually know what they are doing. I know how hard it is to find good contractors. I really hope this review helps prevent people from doing the same mistakes I did.
