We had Joe Hanson LLC complete our basement remodel work. This included final framing, drywall, LVP…read moreflooring and then their subs doing plumbing, electrical and HVAC. I had some framing ideas sketched up that they talked through with me but came up with some better options that turned out great. And when some issues came up they worked with me and were able to come up with a solution that I was more pleased with. The cost was a bit more than I expected but they took care of all the coordination with others to get the work done and it was done in the specified time frame.

We added a bathroom, wet bar, bedroom, family room and exercise area. the construction quality and attention to detail was beyond what I'd ever seen before in residential construction. They were always willing to work with us on any timing, construction detail, quality, even custom closet design. They even came back after the construction was complete and they were paid to address a small issue we had - got it resolved quickly and very much to our satisfaction. Incredibly trustworthy - they really take pride in their work and it shows in the final product. The quality of their work is impeccable. Would hire them again in a New York minute!

The crew at Exceptional Exteriors replaced 50 sashes on our windows. This was a warranty…read morereplacement where I contacted the manufacturer to get the replacement sashes. The guys at Exceptional Exteriors said that they had done other window replacements and gave me a reasonable bid. They ran into some technical issues with the pre-drilled and routed holes from the factory but they figured out what to do and got all of the window sashes replaced in two days (in January) with minimal impact to our family (and I work from home). The work these guys did is amazing with no damage to the stiles or jambs. They were neat in their work, cleaned up after everything was done and have checked back in after the fact to make sure we are happy. I highly recommend this team.

Went in a silly idea of building our own deck.... Walked out feeling confident to do so strictly…read morebecause of the outstanding customer service from Anthony Gomez! His knowledge (and patience with all of our questions) was remarkable. He never pushed us one way or another on what to buy, just gave expert advise and a few tips along the way. In a time when we have run into struggling customer service wherever we go... this was an amazing experience. Kudos to Anthony and all the staff at Stoughton Lumber! You now have 2 additional customers for life!

Otherwise, I have a hard time finding anything. They are either out of what I need or don't carry it. It's frustrating so if I need something specific, I go to Ace in McFarland or Menards. Stoughton won't have it. We had Aaron come in and quote new windows and doors. After two weeks, we had to call him and ask for the quote. We got the window quote, but not the new front double door. So we got quotes from other companies. We were shocked at new door prices so we went back to Stoughton. We looked at double doors, talked to someone who said he would talk to Aaron. That never happened so we went with a responsive company. I guess they don't need business that bad. I only go there for simple things. Sometimes they don't even have that. Aaron, you suck.

After speaking with a handful of reputable contractors in the Madison area, we chose Allen Kitchen…read more& Bath (AKB) based on a referral from a friend who had their kitchen recently remodeled. We had our first meeting with Kathy (Interior Designer) within a few days of contacting them. She came out to our home, talked with us about our needs and ideas, and took rough measurements right then and there so she could get started on renderings, material selection, and planning. Within a week, we were in her office reviewing a detailed, accurate work order that was nearly spot-on with our vision -- and at a price lower than we had anticipated! After answering what must have been a million questions from us over the next week or two (and letting us review other materials in the showroom), we came almost full circle back to Kathy's original design. Kathy was patient, kind, and quick to address all our needs as we worked through the initial planning process. Once we officially signed with AKB, it was less than a month before our project was scheduled and the dumpster arrived. Our lead carpenter, Pat, arrived the following morning and got to work right away. Outside of the electrician and plumbers, Pat was our main tradesperson for the project--from tear-out to tiling, he was skilled in all areas. Since I work from home, I was able to greet Pat each morning and talk over the day's work. He also showed a great deal of patience and kindness as I asked questions about the project, materials, techniques, and more. And since he was here for over a month, I got to learn more about him and his family. It was genuinely nice having him here each morning, putting his years of experience to work as he rebuilt our bathroom from the ground up. His dedication to his trade truly speaks for itself--our bathroom turned out amazing! Overall, we are very pleased with our remodeling experience with Allen Kitchen & Bath. Everyone we interacted with was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and engaging. Our bathroom turned out better than we could have imagined--the shower is our favorite part!

I can't say enough good things about my kitchen remodel with Allen. I had a basic idea of what I…read morewanted and Laree helped me find all the right pieces. She rearranged my kitchen floor plan to not only work better but also give me much more storage. Harrison, the carpenter, did a great job - he was not happy with just "ok", but was more of a perfectionist than me. Nino, the tile guy, made my selection of hand made (thus uneven and a challenge to use) tile the highlight of the room. Deanna kept me up-to-date on all installations. Even the inspections went smoothly. I've been thru a lot of construction projects and this has been, by far, the easiest with the best outcome. 5 Stars for Sure!
