When the Red Barn Company opened up in 2013 in Waunakee, I got an ad on my Facebook. I was excited for it to open up, I even thought about applying for a part time job. I never got to that store to check it out until 2023. It was just what I imagined beautiful, so much great & amazing stuff to look at and buy. There was Pandora and Vera Bradley, there store offers home decor, dishware, candles, clothing and accessories. I just was in awe, I know that during the Christmas holiday they decorate the store to the nine's. There is ample street parking, if you want a drink afterwards to look through all your baggies to check out your goodies there are bars & restaurants across the street. I've been a customer for several years, but recently made a major purchase and was extremely disappointed. My wife and I purchased a table for around $2,000.00. We saw it and loved it right away, and an employee quickly told us it was the last one. We are building a new home and thought it would be amazing in our foyer, so we bought it. We have purchased expensive furniture at numerous different stores around the Madison area and at one time we had some issues with an item we purchased in Madison. That store went ABOVE AND BEYOND, telling us they would do anything to make it right. Refund, store credit, sending a repair person to our home were all options they gave us. When we bought this table neither one of us recall anyone saying that the sale was final and there were no returns. However, it does say that in the small print on our receipt. To our shock, we learned the table was too long for the spot we intended it for and we have no other place for it. Due to the cost (almost $2,000.00) we reached out to the store to see if we could return it - and we even told them we would be happy with store credit so we could find another, smaller table. The person on the phone was rather short and to the point, telling us "There are no refunds or exchanges, we told you that when you bought it". When we tried to explain that nobody told us that, and we were willing to just get store credit so they would not lose out on a sale, they told us "You will have to talk to the OWNER" who was not there. So we asked for the owner to call us at her earliest convenience. My wife received a call from another employe who was NOT the owner, and she said "I'm sorry, but there is nothing we can do". WARNING: If you are looking for good customer service and a store that cares about their customers and will stand behind their products, I would suggest you DO NOT shop here. We have spent a lot of money at this store over the years and this was a major purchase. They did not seem to care if they lost a good customer and all future sales from us. read more

Very cute stuff, staff is mostly friendly. The biggest reason for less than 5 stars is that every time I shop there, there's always someone standing behind me and looking over my shoulder. It makes me feel extremely uncomfortable, as if they think I'm going to steal something (and I have been there several times, purchased items each time.) I understand having to protect merchandise, but it is very off-putting and does not make me excited to return soon. read more

Res Barn is my favorite all time store! I live close to Green Bay (about 100 miles) My destination is always Red Barn! They will have every thing you could possibly be looking for. Beautiful everyday household decor, purses, candles, jewelry, clothing on and on. My first trip there I came home with paint , plus many other things. Wonderful colors an a brand I could not find anywhere else. Paint wasn't on my list but after talking with Vicky, she explained how chalk paint works and with such little effort! She is so knowledgeable , can help with every question such as matching jewelry, clothing, home trim on and on. Imagine a friendly helpful clerk now days?! Well you will find many there! The price point is higher than I usually like to spend, but I love coming and seeing all the variety that they bring in! They really know how to target each design and personality style! Their wax melts are amazing, and you can get a great deal by buying more at a time! I've purchased their Lake Life Co tees and they are worth the price! You can also find amazing focal point decor pieces for your home, like I said, you pay more; but it always makes me feel better when I know I'm supporting local. read more

Many people had suggested that I stop by this store and I finally had an opportunity today. I'm so thrilled that I checked it out as it's a true gem. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a friendly, "hello," and from that moment on I was left to shop. I often find myself dodging employees while I browse and that was definitely not the case here. Help was offered but I was free to shop. The store is full of things I would both fill my house with and gift as well. The mix of new and antique was absolutely amazing as you had the option for one of a kind items as well as brands that many are familiar with. If you're the type of person that loves the vintage looking wall art and home decor, this place is for you. The prices were not outrageous either, definitely a place where it allows for a unique gift under $50. I ended up buying a birthday gift for my sister and it was wrapped just perfectly for me to give. Definitely check out this store if you've yet to go; I'll see you there! read more

I just ran into the store quick to buy some candles to have as gifts, 6 @ $21 each. The owner of the store (Vicky) was checking me out and stated, $192.?? I asked her to repeat the amount and she stated, $192.??. I asked her how that could be. Then she looked at what she rang up and realized it was wrong. She had grossly overcharged me for three of the candles. Okay, nearly $60 wrong. And then she proceeded to get mildly stormy and seemed upset for me questioning the amount. She was not able able to print me a receipt, so I asked to see the computer screen. She seemed perturbed by this request. Then, she tried sending me a text receipt, which I still have yet to receive. Be careful!!! While this is a cute store, and I love to support local business....this is the second time in a row, I have received poor service at this store. I thanked her for the candles and left. Let's just all be kind. Take a deep breath and settle down. It will be less stressful to order my next batch of candles from the "1803" company website. read more

Shopped here for many-a-present for my wife. Quality and uniqueness of their goods is impressive. The staff are also very friendly and helpful in making a selection.
