New HVAC system: Quote to Installation - seamless & smooth We recently decided it was time to replace our HVAC system which was installed in October of 1996. This 26 year old system was also installed by All Temp Systems and so we opted to stick with them for our new system too. They're a local business and have always been quick to respond when an emergent need arose. I requested a quotation via their web site and received a response from the owner the same day that he would prepare a quote. A day later the quote arrived for the new system and we were pleased as it was a few thousand dollars less that we were anticipating. We also compared it to two of our neighbors who had similar systems installed by them in 2018 and 2020 and found the price difference to only be about $200.00 more. (We were pleasantly surprised to see that they were holding their prices steady and offering fair and competitive pricing in a time when everything else seems to be increasing by leaps and bounds.) We took advantage of the Mass Save heat loan program and obtained a zero % heat loan to cover the cost of the furnace which also qualified for a rebate too and scheduled the installation of the system. The 2 technicians arrived on time as scheduled and were very friendly, polite and worked diligently on disassembling and removing the old system and getting the new system installed. In quick order, the system was ready for the gas fitter to hook up the furnace and the electrician to make the electrical connections and install the new thermostat. Within 6 hours, the new system was tested, up and running and all of the work space in the basement and outdoors was cleaned up and all of the old system components taken away. From quotation to installation, the whole process was very easy. Everyone I interacted with (Mr. Zagame, the owner, and the installation technicians) at All Temp Mechanical Systems, Inc. have been very easy to work with and answered any and all questions/concerns I had. I also have to commend All Temp Systems on keeping their prices reasonable given that it seems there's a fair amount of price gouging going on everywhere. Like any business, they're entitled to turn a profit...but it's nice doing business with someone who's giving their customers a good value for the money with fair pricing. I will continue to use All Temp Systems for my future HVAC needs and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a HVAC company. Great company, great People and fair pricing. S. The system designs, installers and techs are solid. The problem is customer service. There is one person there that does the majority of the calls and scheduling, and you have to decide if you can deal with how he treats you or go somewhere else. We were customers for over 15 years and I just read all the other reviews. Read the details about customer service; it is how we were treated also. I had these guys over to service the central air conditioning in my house. Our system is nothing special, just your run of the mill split system with the condenser outside, just like most folks who have central. Setting up the appointment was a breeze and they were about to come out in one business day. The service engineer turned up on time, took a look at the components in the attic, changed the filter, cleaned the drip pans and checked everything. He then proceeded outside and looked at the condenser unit, charged it and inspected it etc. After all the work was done, he provided me with an invoice which detailed all the work they did. He recommended that we get on their Preventative Maintenance plan and stated that he'd have someone from the office send it out, haven't received anything. All in all, I would say their service is just "OK". I've not been blown away by them and I will try someone else before I settle on a longer term provider. read more

We had an issue with our A/c and contacted all temps and spoke with the owner. He had someone come out within hours to see what was wrong and found out it was a simple fix that we were able to address right away. Excellent customer service! Glad we won't be sleeping by a fan for another 90 degree night. read more

The ultra worst customer service I have ever encountered. They charged me over $42000.00 for a new Heating System and Plumbing in a 2800 sq ft 2 1/2 bath Colonial now about 13+ months later I am having a problem with my heat and they told me they don't service my area and suggested I contact Angie's list to find someone to fix it. If I was aware that they wouldn't service their work I would never had used them. Should have read the other reviews before I hired them, Lesson Learned. read more

I wanted to provide some feedback for people looking into All-Temp for the installation of a home Air conditioning unit. All-Temp quoted and installed a AC unit for my home last year. The initial visit of the sales person to review and quote the work was professional and to the point. In addition, the sales person suggested a option for AC outputs that was clever. The other two firms we had quote did not impress us with their thoughtfulness to meet our requirements. A quote was provided to me on time as promised. I was very pleased with their installers; they cleaned up and were pleasant when they performed their work in my house. The work was done in a timely and professional manner. There were follow up calls by All-Temp to make sure my wife and I are content with the work and if we had any questions. Finally, the function of the AC unit is flawless; no issues as of this date. A few things I will suggest you think about; 1) Pony up the extra money for 2 zones of control if you have an upstairs and downstairs that need to have AC. It is expensive as you need another controller, but my wife and I wish that we had done this, as it would have been nice to independently control temps in the different zones of our house. 2) Also purchase the cover for the AC unit, its $100 bucks but it will protect the outside unit during the snowy months. I was a long time customer, but I recently had a plumbing emergency. I called, was promised they would come the next day. When the day wore in I called them... was treated rudely by the woman in the office, who said the plumber would call back right away.. they never called back... basically was treated like crap...no courtesy of a return call, no estimate on when they could come, they just didn't care... there are other places with better service; I'd pass over these guys... read more

We needed our entire HVAC system replaced including new duct work. Bob was extremely patient with us and walked us through the job and quote numerous times. We received approximately 8 quotes from other companies and All-Temp was the most competitive. Their guys were professional during the entire install and so far everything is working really well. read more

Saved me from a broken pipe on a Sunday afternoon during a Pats game, professional, reasonable, what more can I say?

We had a thermostat that was having intermittent problems but was working for the most part. The technician came and removed the thermostat leaving us with no air conditioning at all to sweat. Lied and told us its a special thermostat like we're stupid. Then put it on order to maybe come the next day. We asked doesn't Home Depot or Lowes carry it and lied again that's it's special. It's just a cheap thermostat you can buy anywhere. Avoid this company!! read more

All-Temp has serviced our heating and AC systems and our experience has been excellent. Always on time and always professional in all aspects. As a result of this we contracted to have them install a Mitsubishi mini-split heat / AC unit in our finished basement. Their quote was very competitive and their work was excellent. Very neat and all aspects, including the best placement of the unit, were fully explained. The electrician and the installation crew left the area spotless and made sure we were satisfied before they left. The basement is now comfortable in all weather. A great experience from start to finish and I highly recommend them. read more

I hate to throw the entire operation under the bus because of one person who talks on the phone but is the man the customer service rep hands the phone to to trouble shoot the service call the most condescending person alive? Today was the third time I spoke to him. Twice in the past which was as grueling but in the end a very capable technician was sent, arrived on time-answered my questions-all good. Today I call to say my upstairs AC is out. As soon as I hear this guys voice I remember the last time. I explained to the man that this AC issue has happened before. No one seems to know why, The condensor works fine and goes on but no air coming out of the vent. The HVAC installer is out of business and my heating guy has not had much luck nipping the problem. The man on the phone asks well do you maintain your HVAC service. Yes we change the filters. Service the furnace. They give me an apt 11 days away. I said wow that's a long way out--then he gives me appt a week away. I say well let me check around--that's still a along time to wait. He says is this an emergency? He said YOU JUST TOLD ME this has been going on for years. It was working 2 days ago sir but yes it has off and on maybe once a year for 5 years stopped working and many times it fixes itself but I'm tired of wondering when my AC might decide to come on when I need it on and it doesn't. And Well yes its summer, my AC is out, my elderly mom lives with me now and I think I have the right to see if someone can come sooner. He then says well if its an emergency you can pay time and a half and I said no I was just hoping to get someone here within a week-then I think? he starts offering me something a bit sooner but by this time I'm sick of playing games with him and I hung up. I'm not dealing with someone who power plays their schedule but then can suddenly give an appointment sooner. I was about to say if I have to pay time and a half I will and call you back but let me see if I can get someone in here sooner.......but just not worth the feeling that someone is not being honest with you and would rather play hardball. How about first come first serve? How about first available service appointment? How about stop over analyzing the issue and get a service man out there asap? The reason I calling again is I obviously liked the first technician and I'm looking to fill a life long HVAC relationship. Easy Peasy. If he's the owner he is turning off new customers. If he is not the owner should stand by and listen to how he speaks to people. I am a real estate agent and property manager. I deal with contractors all the time. Unfortunately the one contractor I don't have for my self is a consistent HVAC person. I will not be calling these folks back. JC read more

Could not be more disappointed. Been using for a few years and pay for maintenance contract yet still get attitude when furnace is down and need to schedule service. Agree with other reviews that the guy that schedules appointment is miserable. I no longer trust their assessments as they continually get more expensive and vague. Done with this company. read more

Have been using them for short time, but their service has started to go down hill fast and I won't be using them anymore. The worse person is the guy we speak to to schedule an appointment, You call up and a lady patches us over to someone who clearly doesn't like his job and not meant to be speak to customers on the Company's behalf. Schedules a couple of days out just to get an estimate. Canceled and then when we call back, he says he will call us if something becomes available. What about scheduling to get something on the schedule? A day later and still no call to even schedule something. I have to say, I will not be calling them again. We used this company twice within the past 2 years. On a positive note when you make an appointment with them, they come at the exact time they say they will be there. They work hard at correcting the problem. The down side is that they are expensive and I think recently were overcharged. 2 years ago we paid $46 per pound of R22 to recharge are AC. This year we were charged $150 per pound which amounted to almost $800 in total expense including a sealer. I guess they didn't correct the problem the first time. I called around to 6 different HVAC places and was told I should have paid a max of $75 per pound. Shame on me, I should have done my homework. Will never seek anything from this company. Felt ripped off. Called the company and asked to speak to the owner, still waiting for the phone call. Will find another competent HVAC company to do business with. We had our gas heater serviced by this company recently. We were fairly certain that we needed a new expansion tank. I started comparison shopping first for service calls and then for specific replacement parts. Most companies would not give me an estimate without a service call first, the companies that did were quite high. All-temp did not give a number but said it should be under 500 which was I was hoping for and less than the companies that gave quotes. The service man was prompt, polite, and honest. He did recommend that we replace the tank as we had expected. He did not have the correct parts so they would have to come out an additional day. Initially when I asked they were scheduled out a few days but, I called the service manager and he sent someone back later the same day. Two technicians came this time, again prompt and polite and fixed the problem. An issue arose and they needed to replace an additional part, they did not charge us any additional labor fees for the time to replace the part and were very courteous. We ended up having needing paperwork from them for the sale of our home and they were very helpful and polite. read more

Exceptional Service, Quality and Value: -Quick and friendly responses to questions made through email and on the phone. -Did not waste any of our time quoting the job.* -Professional quote received by mail within a couple of days. Nicely presented in a folder, with all information printed on resume quality paper (sure beats a quote scribbled on a dirty scrap of paper). All information included: BBB accreditation, insurance information, permit information, equipment to be installed, services to be performed, and price. -Work was scheduled and performed on time. They said they would be at the house by 8am and I was surprised when they were on time (I'm use to contractors showing up when they feel like it). Worked for two days straight, and finished on time. -Workers were friendly, cleaned up after themselves, did not cut any corners, and respected the property (took shoes off when walking on carpets, and laid down canvas when drilling holes). -They Installed quality equipment at an exceptional value. -All electrical work included, no need to hire a separate electrician.** -Price quoted was final price paid (no nickel and diming) -They even mailed in the warranty cards in for me and sent me a thank you card. Looking forward to continued years of service. Footnotes: *The other 4 contractors spent hours with us making used car salesman like pitches. Two of contractors never sent us a quote, one contractor quoted so high it was laughable, and other guy was priced right but stopped responding to calls after we left an email asking him if the manufacturer warranty would be valid as he did not appear to be an authorized installer. ** This was important to me as I wanted the job to be the responsibility of single contractor from start to finish. Our attic furnace was deemed "compromised" by a local HVAC company (other than All-Temp) due to a bad heat exchange. Consequently, it had to be shut down per state laws. This happened on a Saturday afternoon in December. Given the recent snap of arctic air we've been experiencing I was in a panic to get the heat back on in our home as soon as possible! I spoke with Bob from All-Temp that day and by Tuesday he had a crew of his guys over to our house installing a new heating system and new air condition condenser. Bob was patient, knowledgeable and informative as we worked through all of the options and how to use the Mass Save program. I would recommend Bob and his All-Temp crew to anyone in the area in need of HVAC service. I know that I was given A+, prompt, honest, reliable service at a price point other companies I contacted couldn't come close to. For the life of me I find it hard to believe any of the negative reviews posted about this company. My experience was nothing short of fantastic.
