I wish i could say something positive, but unfortunately not. We got a preliminary quote for labor a few years ago for our old "new" Beetle, and finally got around to having the money to get it fixed. We took the car in with the old quote and asked for a new quote with parts included. I thought, all good and well. Then, out of the blue, when i called in to get an update on the quote, the guy, DJ, was yelling that he thought that we were bringing the parts and that there was "oil all over the garage." I'm thinking, ok, how is that my fault exactly? Plus, when my husband took the car in, he initially came out and said the guy had the parts all ordered already! We took it in and knew it needed repairs on the power steering and also needed an oil change and the hood latch repaired. My husband showed them how to open the latch with a tool he had made (and yet on the estimate sheet he had written to his young and very inexperienced looking assistant mechanic "Work with it!"). While on the phone with DJ, i then asked if we could get an updated quote with his parts included. DJ REPEATED that he expected that we would bring the parts! I then said, well, could we get a quote with his parts included and then if it was too expensive, could we get a parts list and then we could get some parts to bring in (thinking that was apparently what he wanted?) He then shouted at me again, and claimed that "wasn't a very good way to do business," that it wasn't "ethical!" And i'm still sitting there with my head spinning. So much for him being unbiased toward women! It felt like a total run-around and jerk around that i still do not understand. Yes, the garage does look very clean, but when was all that mattered a clean-looking garage? Do they actually still do work here? We immediately went and just picked up our car to have re-evaluated and worked on elsewhere. My guess is, his initial diagnosis of parts needed was wrong and based on him wanting to make money (that was when he was in his old cramped garage in Darien) and wanting to buy a new garage, so he was cheating people. I especially think that since we have two Beetles and the other one has identical problems but the diagnosis for parts was cheaper and completely different. So i'm thinking this guy is not nearly as "honest" as people are supposing or indicating. Or, he has changed now that he has his new, clean garage! (Seriously??) read more

After a motorcycle accident in October 2012, I spent the winter at my sisters home in Richmond recuperating. While I was there I picked up a 2003 Jeep Cherokee that needed attention to make it reliable, including a new rear end. My objective was to make it a good vehicle to tow a 24' trailer full of my motorcycles and stuff back to my home in California in the spring. My brother-in-law, Tom recommended All Tech as a good, dependable place to do my necessary repairs. He actually found them by accident after breaking down right in front of the place one day! Well, I usually do all my own mechanical work but since I was busted up pretty bad from the accident, it took everything I had pride-wise to let someone else work on my vehicle. I just can't believe my good luck in going to All Tech and hiring the owner, D.J. to fix me up. He takes great pride in his work and did an absolutely top-notch job for me! He is a super friendly guy, an ex-Marine (always hire a vet!!) and just a great mechanic! The prices were always fair and I found that I never needed to worry about double checking his work, it was always spot-on! This guy is an absolute GEM in the auto repair business and I would recommend that everyone in the area should go see him for their auto/truck repair needs. After all the stories you hear about ripoffs and bad repair work, this place is a breath of fresh air for sure. I would also especially recommend that FEMALE customers should go there because D.J. would never be condescending or take advantage of you as a lot of other shops tend to do (unfortunate but that's the reality).
