Butitta Auto

Butitta Auto

Helped me in a jam. I found myself with a Bad alternator for My Nissan Altima V6 (this will make…read moresense why this matters later)This was confirmed by another auto shop. (Please look at the review of Andy's Auto repair). In a place I just moved to 3 weeks ago for work. So before taking my car over to the Butitta Brothers, I actually asked a gentlemen who is from here and knows everything about Janesville. He said the Butitta brothers is the only place his family, going back to his father has ever taken their cars. He said they were honest and upfront and guarantee their work. I called them up and spoke with Guy, the Service manager in Janesville. He said if I could get it over before noon they can get it done today. He already had explained that it was 4 hours of labor. This was fortunate, because obviously being away from home and my normal shop. I got it over to them at about 11:15. He gave me a reasonable and guaranteed quote for the work and said he'd try and help me out with a coupon, Guy understands that not everyone is prepared to pay for an alternator. He said we'll get it done as soon as we can but it will be today, but late. If we see anything else that really needs fixing/ replacement, then we will and we'll try and keep it close to the original quote.(The concern was the battery since the alternator wasn't functioning correctly). He also explained that if I had a 4 cylinder it would only cost half as much. (fun fact Nissan V6's are a pain to get repairs done on). Well i got a call nearly 4 hours later around 3:30 and it was Guy saying the car was ready, he said he put a guy on it right after I left. He also let me know over the phone that they had to replace the Serpentine belt(which drives various other supporting items, power steering, air conditioning, water pump). But he assured me he was going to keep it around the original quote. I got their and we discussed the condition of the serpentine belt. Glad he replaced it because I'll admit in 173,000 miles I never have changed it. The final out the door coast was less then my original quote. Guy and this shop was my savior. Explained the 2 year guarantee on parts and labor and explained their road side assistance/ towing plan if something happens in relation to my repair. Just an awesome first time experience with a shop and their people. (also when i was back at the coffee bar after i dropped off my car, the person who originally recommended them, other customers in the coffee bar said, this was also said that they were the only place they take their cars also) Butitta Brothers doesn't need my Review, they're word of mouth reputation speaks for itself. They're great and professional. I will recommend them to everyone as long as I am here.

My daughter was going out of town for the weekend and I wanted to see if she could get her brakes…read morechecked/worked on before she left. Thought I would give Mark's a try. Mark's said they were available for my service request online and let me schedule an appointment through yelp. Was for a simple brake estimate. Said it would be free for the estimate. Dropped off my vehicle early. Sign outside says "free estimates". On arrival, staff said they had no knowledge of my appointment or request (awesome!). Said it would be no problem and they would take a look at the brakes. Said if I decided to move forward with the repair, it should be able to be done today, in a couple hours. Dropped off vehicle around 9:30 am. 1pm comes around, no calls or updates. I was about to give them a call, since it was nearing the end of their work day. I finally get a call. Staff says they did a visual inspection, but it would be $50 for them to take the wheels off and give me an estimate. I'm like you had my car for hours and you haven't even started looking at it, and now you want to charge me for an estimate? I told them I would just pickup the car, because they haven't even worked on it. On my arrival back to the facility, my car hasn't moved one inch, from where I left it. If you are so busy and have so much business, why even bother wasting my time, by saying you could work on it the same day? Hope it was was worth it, because I will never be back or refer anyone here.

(Holy cow, I just realized that I've had a draft of this review sitting unfinished for over 2.5…read moreyears. I'm a terrible Yelper. Anyway, better late than never...) So after an unfortunate meeting with a large piece of metal on a rural road, I rolled my poor Nissan Sentra over to the only auto repair place in Freeport that I knew about (thanks to its distinction as the "best repair shop in town," according to a local newspaper survey). Even though I hobbled in just minutes before closing time, they took their time to check out the damage and then gave me a quick assessment of the situation (which ended up with a gathering of employees staring at the underside of my car in amazement that something could have done so much destruction without resulting in a complete breakdown (or an explosion (seriously))). Ultimately, my auto was toast, and it couldn't be put back on the road without significant work. Dave, the owner, stuck around to help me figure out a rental car, and then actually offered to drop me off on his way home! I don't want to make it sound like this should be expected as standard practice, but this level of customer service -- even in a rare exceptional situation -- is pretty much unheard of. All in all, the work that they did was perfect, they went the extra mile personally and professionally, and I'm still happily chugging along 60,000-or-so miles later. I'm going to need some more work done again soon, and it's too bad that I wasn't able to take the Auto Repair Specialists with me when I moved back to the Chicago burbs.

Dave and his crew always do a great job. Friendly people and a comfortable waiting room. I would…read morerecommend ARS.
