Took our Camaro in for an oil change/tire rotation, and to get the handle on the convertible top locking mechanism repaired. Went in thinking I was going to be out at least $400 due to labor involves in fixing the top. So, Oil change: totally reasonable. No surprises there. Top repair: estimated right around $300 due to the labor. Exactly what I expected, so far so good. But then things get interesting. The guy tells me I have different sized wheels/tires on the back than the front, and that they are directional, so they can't/shouldn't do a tire rotation. Fun fact, I have paid for my tires to be rotated while getting oil changes at multiple Madison service locations through the years of owning the car and have NEVER been told this. Further inspection at the house later on confirmed they were totally right. Adding to this, the tires were all in the "correct" spot which means they were never actually rotated previously. In other words, I was screwed at EVERY other place. Then he tells me the halo ring on my passenger headlight is out. And, as would be expected with a newer model car, the headlight is part of an assembly that needs to be completely replaced. The estimate for the parts and labor were what you'd expect if you've gone through a headlight replacement (ouch). But then.... THEN... when I brought the car back in once the part arrived, they informed me that they realized upon trying to install the new part that the current headlights were actually not stock (previous owner must have swapped them out). And that they were just installed incorrectly. So a quick swap of a couple plugs and BOOM they work perfectly!! I was charged only for the 30 min. of labor involved in this. WOOT!! So where they could have easily taken my money for a tire rotation I shouldn't have done, and a headlight replacement I didn't actually need, and gouged me for labor on a top replacement. These guys decided the high road was right, and I ended up coming out with almost $1k in my pocked I was expecting not to have after I paid my bill, and a gigantic smile on my face for such a shockingly positive experience. I don't care how far away you live, if you have a Chevy and need any kind of service, BRING IT HERE!!!!! These guys are legit! Completely on the up and up, with a level of customer consideration and honesty that I can confidently say I have never experienced anywhere else!

Consumer Be Warned: Aggressive Upselling and Defiant Management…read more Every single time I come to this location for a standard oil change, the staff aggressively tries to upsell me hundreds of dollars in completely unnecessary services. When I finally brought this pattern of behavior to the service manager's attention, he couldn't care less. Rather than listening to customer feedback, he immediately became argumentative, claiming the services were manufacturer-recommended before he even bothered to check what kind of vehicle I drive. Save your hard-earned money and take your business to an honest mechanic who respects your boundaries and your wallet.

Further inspection brought up additional issues that we discussed at length. He went over the the associated costs and we agreed on a course of action. This day could have been a total disaster. However, with Dave's assistance in getting my vehicle to the shop quickly, a straight assessment of the situation and an immediate quote, helped me avoid what was certain to be a nightmarish experience. A clean shop with a professional staff are among several aspects of their business that put me at ease. As their website says, 'fixed right the first time', is more than a slogan.

I dropped off the car first thing in the morning, saying, "Inspect the air conditioning, do oil and lube, and inspect all systems." The guy wrote it down. As I picked up the car at the end of the day, I looked at the invoice. They hadn't taken a look at the air conditioning at all. Nothin'. Nada. Duh! Air conditioning had been at the top of the list. How could have possibly have missed AIR CONDITIONING unless they were illiterate⁉ They essentially had done nothin' worth anything that day, and charged me for doin' nothin'. They weren't even apologetic. I was not a happy camper. I was new in town, didn't know anyone so -- fool that I was,-- I gave them another chance. They didn't do any better the second time around. According to my experience, they charged me a pretty penny for doing doodly-squat. Do I recommend them? Not on your life. Not a chance. They s_ck -- is that strong enough wording? I categorize them as "incompetent thieves." Move on. Find another shop. I can say unequivocally that Gary's Wille's was the worst vehicle repair shop I have ever gone to. I would give them "zero stars" if I could (or even a negative rating, like "minus 5"). This shop doesn't deserve one star, but Yelp requires a rating, so fine, one f'in' star.
