Unfortunately, once he got started on it, he realized that what appeared to be the correct wiring between the house and garage was not sufficient to carry the current needed for a 30 amp plug. He was very apologetic, but I appreciated his honesty and that he didn't go ahead and install something that wouldn't be any better than the 125 volt extension cord I was already running.
