Tokyo Station is the sister location to Free Play Arcade, the groundbreaking bar/arcade concept…read more This location used to be a Free Play Arcade but has now been converted to a Japanese arcade theme destination. If you're expecting old school arcade games like Free Play Arcade, you'll be disappointed. If you want to be transported to Japan via Arlington, read on. My Overall Rating - 5 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Food, Return) Atmosphere - Step into the world of the Japanese arcade. As you walk in, you'll notice claw and Gachapon machines tempting you to play and win something. There's Japanese pop music piping through the speakers, and a dedicated room full of imported Japanese arcade games add more sounds. There's also a dedicated bar and dining area. It was relatively empty at 12:30 PM on a Friday. But it's also simply INCREDIBLE if you're into Japanese culture. You're not in DFW anymore. 2 Star. Service - There's a friendly bartender, if you want to order drinks (I did not). Otherwise, you place your order at a kiosk, grab a numbered puck, and then grab a seat. When your puck starts making a sound, your food will be ready at the windows. Heads up, if you leave you table unattended the staff with clean up so others can sit. They're very efficient. 1 Star. Food - Let me first say, if you're looking for the Free Play Arcade experience, you will be disappointed. If you're looking to be transported to a Japanese arcade (me) this place is awesome. The kiosks are very straight forward; you can order packaged ramen to ramen made in house. I went with the Street Tonkatsu. The broth was mild (not overly salty), and the pork belly was very tender. I also ordered the Tokyo Station Tacos. The JBBQ pulled pork was surprisingly tasty, but I couldn't help but long for a Chinese Bao instead of a tortilla. But what impressed me the most was the booth we sat in. It was connected to a monitor, and we could access a bunch of SNES games. 1 Stars. Will I Return? - Yes! Tokyo Station is my kind of jam. The only thing that gave me concern is that it wasn't very busy on a Friday. I hope this concept stays, because it's the closest thing to a Japanese arcade besides flying to Japan. 1 Star.

There were a few games that were the American version but only a few...Galaga and Pacman were the ones that I noticed. They did have a decent selection of pinball machines...however they are NOT included in the free play. I was a little surprised but also disappointed that pinball was extra... The cost for the "free play" is a little pricey compared to Cidercade...if we are comparing size and what's included. I also think that it helps to have an interest in japanese video games, which I do not. This is a really small arcade which did make it hard to move around and there were lines for the popular games, unfortunately, the overall experience was not really that exciting. The service at the bar was the great, the bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. There is a separate area for the free play and the kids working the counter were mostly on their phones unless someone walked up to them.

His actual artwork wasn't there, but the visual effects in the exhibition were definitely sensory triggered; leaving mental images. This alone describes exactly what Van Gogh's art does - leave an image and even a lasting impression on the viewer. Along the tour there are QR codes that provide a link to more information about the artist and his particular works of art. You'll be able to keep and share the information. Example: vangogh.panel.015 and vangogh.panel.007. These will come up differently on your smartphone. Download the app according to your location: Van Gogh Immersive + (city name). There are hands-on activities for children and big kids too like coloring ;) My favorite part of the exhibition was the VR story of what inspired his works. They covered looking up, down, to the sides, behind, and all around. I enjoyed that immensely! This immersion was an interesting way to see and learn about the artist from the exhibit displays, hologram effects and virtual experience of this modern-day museum. Side notes: Being that our original date was cancelled in August from their delayed equipment transport due to the pandemic, we got a free VIP upgrade from the ticket vendor, Fever. Also, the location in Dallas is in Globe Life Park. Expect to climb quite a bit of stairs, which may not be easy for elderly, pregnant women, or babies in strollers. Ask the greeter for elevator access. Lastly, don't skip any exhibits. Take your time to enjoy in wonder and awe!

That is how far booked out they were. We rolled up on a Sunday night; paid $10 to park, and went inside the old Rangers Stadium. I didn't think the signage was all that great, but look for the Diamond Club entrance, and there you are. You get to spend as much time as you want going through the small exhibit, and you can come and go out of the immersion room. The music and imagery are on a 30 minute loop. The room is super neat. Very relaxing. There are a bunch of benches and bean bags to sit, or you can sit on the floor. I am not sure if we just picked a good time to go (Sunday at 7:30) or the crowds are not large because there were not many people there. The two times we went inside the room we found seating right away. My favorite part of this experience was paying the $5 for the virtual reality. You sit in a chair and put the VR machine over your head and you start off in Van Gogh's room and descend down the stairs into a field. I have never done VR before, but now I want to do again. You can look every which way and see the scenes that Van Gogh probably saw when he created his paintings. A man's voice talks to you and describes all the scenery. You're in a field/farm area and then go through a little town with he big moon and stars, and then cruise towards to the sea and then you're back in VG's bedroom to end it. It was really cool to feel like you are floating in a painting. I highly recommend this event.

So, there are different sections and you lay according to what you want to do which, I think, is ridiculous! But we tried them all! We expected about 90 minutes based on the website information and ended up there for 3 hours! Obviously they have a gift shop but very unique and popular where kids line up is the hand wax molding they do. Kids love it as they dip their hands in wax and the employees are very skilled at doing them. Keep in mind, we came with no kids, just 4 adults and it was, not only, interesting, but quite fun! In order of my favorites: By far the "moving theater" was exhilaration and fun. You sit in simulators with 3 D glasses on and have attached hand guns you use like in an arcade. Object is to shoot as many werewolf's as possible for points and the one with most points wins. The guy heading it was also helpful as well as fun and even offered to take a group photo for us. The chairs move and fans blow wind, it was my favorite! -House of Fear- another excellent experience, you walk through and see different types of menacing creatures typically found in horror flicks, very fun and somewhat interactive as you walk through, loved it -wax museum was next fave, so cool all the genres and time pieces, they weren't too lifelike but close enough to be amazed! -the regular Ripley's museum takes the longest only because so so many things to read about, the displays had very bizarre things and people, a little on the twisted side. -my least favorite was the house of mirrors. I just didn't like it, I went in and quickly turned around only to exit out of the entrance! However, this was my mom's favorite!! All in all, a very fun experience, it wasn't too crowded at all and they were a bit understaffed, but a nice experience for the family
