I absolutely recommend and love Board and Brush. I have made five projects a Board and Brush and they have all turned out great. I most recently made a clock and cant wait to get it up on the wall. They have 56-7 different stain options and about 50-75 different colored paints for you to use. They print the stencil for you so when you show up to class you check the spelling and make sure it is the right project. You distress and stain your wood slats and there are staff on hand to help you all along the way. Amy and James Evans run 4 stores I think and they do a great job at taking care of their customers. Oh and brush in Mansfield and Arlington are wonderful places to relax and be creative. I have been there a lot and pack my entire Christmas with sport and brush stuff that I made and customize for my family. It went over big-time. Love this little place! We had such a fun night creating our boards. The staff was super helpful and instructive and the product options were really cute. Would highly recommend. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that masks were optional. I would've felt safer if masks were required (unless eating and drinking, of course) during these COVID times. read more

Though we had an amazing time at Board and Brush, I do have one major complaint. The chairs you use are honestly unacceptable. We were women in our 60's and three of us left in severe back pain. I understand that the metal is friendly for what you do but you must consider a back to them. We walked down to the Flying Squirrel and outside they had some chairs like yours, they also had a nice metal chair with a back and a wider seat. I would hate to think that we could not come back because there is not a moderately comfortable place to sit. I also thought the lead could have been more helpful and certainly friendlier. I can get past a bad attitude. read more

Guys! There is wood, sand paper, saw dust, hammers, nails, screws, wood stain, rubber gloves, measuring tapes, small power tools, sports on the tv, and a little bit of paint. First time there and it was a ton of fun!! My coworker found it and at first I was skeptical but I'm glad I went. It's BYOB (you can bring food as well) and they walk you through every step from sanding and distressing the board to finishing and sealing. If you have a multi board project you actually assemble it! You can pick your own project and design (or bring your own, the owner will facilitate, she is amazing)! They did tell me that in the summer they have a different line of designs they offer. The staff is super fun and knowledgeable. They provide all the tools you need from the sand paper to the brushes. They also have a large variety of paint colors and glitters and if you have an idea you want to do like fading or marbling they can help you with it. Overall a lot of fun! read more

If you're one those individuals who likes to pay in excess of $65 to someone to make a sign from scratch that you could probably purchase for $40 and in the process be rushed and verbally treated like a kindergartener with a disability, then this is the place for you. Some of the art assistants should just work for the IRS instead of here. And mind you this is my SECOND time to attend a party at this location so my mind is made up. Mind you, if you consider that what you are truly paying for when you sign up is a celebratory environment with your friends and family making something adorable but also making memories to celebrate a special occasion. So when that experience is tainted with "you better hurry up because your piece is huge" and "let's not include your piece in the picture because we don't want anyone else to choose that motif", the purpose is defeated. My assistant split my board while drilling like Yosemite Sam on Aderol, then messed up my front surface and told me to just flip it over and it will be fine, knocked over my stain cup-TWICE while flipping my art piece over. I had to walk away and go to the bathroom to stop myself from screaming. Board and Brush is a wonderful concept and experience- just pick a different location if you want the full awesome positive experience. read more
