When I went to Covina Hills Sports Medicine, I expected the same experience I have had at other therapy centers. Unfortunately, in most places, the therapist evaluates you, performs some manipulation during the first visit (and maybe the second), and then leaves you in the hands of assistants or students for the remainder of the treatment. That was not the case here. From the very first day, Dr. Wigboldy conducted an extremely thorough evaluation. She took the time to understand my condition in detail, performed the necessary treatment, and clearly explained both the cause of my problem and the plan to resolve it. At the time, my condition was quite severe--my shoulder pain was intense enough to wake me up several times during the night. After nearly two months of treatment, I am very pleased to say that the pain is completely gone. The entire staff is highly professional, knowledgeable, and kind. They make you feel welcome and confident that you are in capable hands. Kim and Keyla, in particular, stand out for their dedication and the quality of care they provide. I can only assume they have been trained by Dr. Wigboldy, as they reflect the same level of kindness and professionalism. This is a place where you receive consistent, hands-on care from experienced professionals who truly care about your recovery. I highly recommend Covina Hills Sports Medicine to anyone seeking effective and attentive physical therapy.

I would highly recommend another physical therapy practice…read more #1: they told me my insurance would cover the visits and I had a copay which I paid every time. After going 2x a week for a few weeks I asked again, does my insurance cover this and the front desk assured me yes again. I continued my visits and then got hit with a bill for $600 in November. I paid it off thinking I'd be done but then 6 months later I receive another bill. #2: their heat neck pads smell like mildew and they charge $30 every 10 minutes you use it. #3: 90% of the time I was with students/interns. I maybe only saw a PT Two times. #4: the head PT had no regards to anyone else. I was in the middle of an exercise on the bar and he told the intern to have me move for his patient. He couldn't acknowledge me or wait until I finish my exercise or at least a set?

My kids play soccer, baseball, basketball, and football, and with any injury, SSR is the first (and only) place I take them. I know without a doubt that they will properly identify the issue, treat it correctly, and get my kids back to playing safely and confidently. The owners, Ryan and Roger, are completely hands-on and truly the best in the business. You can tell they care deeply about every athlete that walks through the door. On top of that, every single staff member is knowledgeable, professional, and clearly passionate about what they do. The environment is another huge win. There's always a great vibe--choice music playing or live sports on the TV, sometimes even featuring their own clients competing, which is incredibly motivating and fun. It feels energetic, positive, and never like a boring or intimidating physical therapy clinic. What really sets SSR apart is how they treat people. Everyone treats you like family. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm "what's up." The **front desk crew--Tina and Wit are awesome--**and everyone in the back makes you feel welcome and cared for every single visit. I'm also extremely grateful they opened a La Verne location, as it's so much closer for us than the Corona spot. The convenience alone is huge, but the quality remains top-tier. SSR is the perfect combination of elite knowledge, hands-on care, and a fun environment that athletes actually enjoy. Who knew physical therapy could be so fun? Highly recommend to any parent or athlete looking for the best.

This place is hands down the best - particularly for anyone living an active/athletic lifestyle. Roger and Ryan are genuine experts in their field. So knowledgeable. Firm but encouraging. Some of the exercises were not intuitive to me, he would try different ways to explain to me. He would take the time to answer my questions of how things work. The demonstration videos that were attached in he home exercises also helped a lot. He genuinely cared about his patients' well being. I really enjoyed working w/ him. Even though at the end my hip was shown in the x-ray to have advanced arthritis and cannot avoid surgery, other areas of my body have really improved due to his care. I highly recommend Ben and his team.

How do you know if your body is silently breaking down if you never get a proper diagnosis? Through…read moreDr. Benjamin Yu, I was able to see exactly where my weak points were--and more importantly, the 'why' behind them. It was a classic case of: 'I didn't know I needed therapy until I got therapy.' I booked an evaluation not because of an injury, but as preventive maintenance for my physical well-being. It's the same logic I use for my car: you don't wait for the engine to fail before you take it in for service. A standard annual physical checks your internal chemistry, but it doesn't check the health of your skeletal architecture. If you want to live a long life without a wheelchair or chronic pain, this is the missing piece. It's just science. Dr. Benjamin listens with extreme patience. After just watching me walk, he could tell me exactly what I needed to work on. He didn't just explain the root cause of my back pain (the classic millennial struggle); he explained the chain reaction behind it using simple analogies and actionable steps. He treats the cause, not just the effect. Since the exercises are all bodyweight-based, I can do them anywhere--at home or while traveling. Before this, I didn't realize my back was aching simply because it was compensating for my hamstrings. I've moved away from the linear mindset of 'stretch what hurts' to a deeper focus on strengthening the right muscles for longevity and performance. It's about unlearning a lifetime of bad habits and replacing them with proper form. This has completely changed how I approach my training. I've stopped relying on 'primal intuition'--doing whatever it takes to finish a movement--and started using the muscle groups that were born to do that work. Instead of burning out my strongest muscles, I'm finally using the whole system. Be who you were designed to be. I don't know why this isn't a routine checkup for everyone yet, but I am sure it will be once we start to value our bodies as much as our technology.
