Two fish in one reel in--Puget Sound, WA

Thank you, Captain Eric and All Star Fishing Charter Edmonds for a perfect day. From the welcome text we received the day before our trip to the excellent directions to free parking to the beautiful boat and knowledgeable Captain--it was a 5 star plus day. We had enviable conditions--warm sun, calm Puget Sound and abundant fish! Captain Eric was a great teacher--we moved from one excellent spot to another and caught our Coho limit before 8 am and then caught our flounder limit! Of all the positives about the day, I think the most vivid was that Captain Eric's enthusiasm matched ours. Though he has spent his life fishing, he shared the joy we felt as beginners. We'll be back--hopefully for King Salmon season which begins in July! And we'll be requesting Eric once again!

What can I say other than the captain was very knowledgeable on Salmon swimming patterns and was able to get us to the right place at the right time. Our party of 5 caught our limit within the first hour and a half. Cleaned the fish and was very friendly.

What a great Charter! We came up to Seattle for a wedding. My son and I had to try some salmon fishing as we're from SoCal and haven't done it before. I can't say enough about Gretchen and Nick. Amazing crew as were the other anglers on the boat. We left at 6 and limited out by 8. Whaaaaat?! Even if we got skunked I'd still be writing this review with 5 stars. Beautiful day with beautiful people. Great time on the boat. Definitely looking forward to booking again with them next time I'm here

My son and I went out with Lenny (I believe that was his name) and a third person who joined us--that was a little bit of a surprise for us so you might want to get clarification if it's just your group or others joining your fishing party. We went trolling in Puget Sound. Left out of Everett. Fishing for salmon. Fished from about 7:30am-12:30pm. The first thing we had to do was pick an order of who would go first. We had two rods in the water. I said I would go last because I wanted my son to catch something. The gentleman who joined us said he would go second, and we were off. This was on Sunday, March 12, 2017. We trolled for 3 hours before we got our first bit of action. The captain pulled the rod off the holder and said there was one on there. My son reeled in a very small fish (picture attached) that we had to release. The other guy was up now, and it wasn't long before he caught one that was a keeper (picture attached). It was now my turn. We trolled around for two more hours without a bite and headed into port. The captain was very nice. The boat we used (they have multiple apparently) was fine. The fishing sucked which is certainly not their fault. I didn't really like the third person being added to our group without us knowing about it, and $420 was a lot of money for a long boat ride.

Really didn't care for the requests for tips when the skipper and captain ( one man show) owed the boat.

EWA is more than a fly fishing shop. This is a community-driven business staffed by extremely…read moreknowledgeable, kind, and attentive people who love their sport and truly want to help. I lost an irreplaceable rod on a river yesterday. I never would have found it without the incredible help of Muaaz, one of the staff members, who was so exceedingly caring and attentive that he voluntarily managed to track down the person who grabbed it from the bank. Thank you, Muaaz! Many fly shops are intimidating. Most are uncomfortable to hang out in. Plenty of them employ "experts" who are outright disdainful and rude to customers who don't know what they're doing. Most other shops aren't designed to foster a real community, let alone bring a positive force to the larger community of the neighborhood. There isn't a single employee here who won't go above and beyond for you, whether you're an absolute novice, intermediate to expert angler, or just have a friend or family member who's into fly fishing. Need a gift for the angler in your life? Curious about why people are so obsessed with this sport? Want to understand why matching a rod with the appropriate reel, line, leader, and tippet seems so complicated? Want to know if that piece of equipment is really worth the price tag? Maybe you don't really need anything, but you'd like to hang out in a comfortable space designed for customers like you to relax and socialize. Maybe you're tinkering with the idea of getting into fly tying but have no idea where to start. Or perhaps you could really use some expert advice based extensive experience -- without being told you have to buy $2,000 worth of whatever. If any of the above rings a bell, this is the place. No upselling, no uptight attitudes, no joke. This place is invested in making a real contribution to the community of West Seattle. If you live closer to another shop, give this one a shot. It's worth the trip, and you might not go back to that other place. The junction is lucky to have EWA at their new location on California Ave. I shop here instead of buying directly from vendors because there's no price gouging or elitist vibe, and because I honestly want this business to thrive. Most of the other customers who frequent this place do too. Moving this shop from 42nd and Oregon to the heart of the junction took an enormous group effort. There's a good reason so many of its customers volunteered to help with whatever was needed. There are also plenty of good reasons I've spent this much of my time and this many words writing a yelp review. Come see what all this fuss is about.

I've been to plenty of fly shops, but EWA will have my patronage as long as I live near Seattle…read more Staff is incredibly friendly and excited to get people out on the water. The shop's dedication to be carbon-neutral and support Patagonia's upcycled wader program is really commendable, and the fly-tying materials are excellent.
