A wonderful and beautiful place for walks during the day and in the evening. One of my favorite places, there is a market nearby where you can eat delicious food.

Floating dock

Pier 62 is a relatively new rest area along the waterfront. Majority of the space is at street level, which is elevated from the water. There is a ramp on one side that you can walk down to be at the water level; it's a floating dock with a good view (see photo). If you walk onto the floating dock, you can see fishes swimming in the water (see photo). The space is normally set up with chairs. It's a good place to just relax if you need a breather from sightseeing, shopping, or just to have a snack. Along the waterfront, you might find entrepreneurs selling their foods, so this is a good place to sit comfortably and rest, too. Not to cause any misunderstanding, if you are a tourist and wondering if this is a good place to add to your itinerary, chances are the answer is no. There is normally nothing here, except as a convenient place to rest. There might be porta-potties here, if you need a restroom. Not sure if it's always available though. At other times, mini fairs and mini concerts are held here. I had come here during the summertime because a Korean fair was being held here (July 16th, to be exact). It was a very good use of this outdoor space.

Relaxing place to get some fresh air and have an amazing view of the bay, mountains, and the city in the background. There was plenty of outdoor red seating to relax on lined along the pier. It was a refreshing time playing some outdoor games like, chess, soccer, and cornhole, with the family. The pier was spacious and full of plenty of seating to soak up some sun.

I'm so happy the construction of this pier is complete; it offers an amazing view of the coast!! It's really clean, and offers ample seating to enjoy the coastal air. There are several hand sanitizer stations, hands free game areas, portable potties (if you absolutely can't hold it,) presence of downtown ambassadors (to ensure the pier remains family friendly,) and easy listening music playing (courteous of Amazon Music.) If you're in the area ,and looking to take a break from walking definitely choose Pier 62!!!

If you need an escape from downtown Seattle, come to Pier 62. It's a long pier overlooking Elliott Bay with tables and games set up. If you need a more quiet spot, walk down to the pier where the boats launch. It's open to the public and so peaceful.

It was a fun filled weekend. We got to watch "Grieves & All Star Opera" live. While celebrating Bae's Birthday. Just vibing and enjoying the good music .

Piers 62 & 63 are a perfect destination for an evening stroll if you live up on Queen Anne, Capitol or First Hill. There are always a lot of tourists in the waterfront area but I think this makes for good people watching, plus it is always fun to drop a 'Guten Tag' on the German peoples. If you are one of those people who do not wear shoes or travel exclusively by skateboard, I would steer clear of this park since it is a huge platform made of untreated wooden planks.

Get up close to Elliott Bay. Great view of West Seattle, the Cascades and the downtown skyline. You also get an closeup view of all the development nearby like the residential high rises. I was mesmerized by this place as the sun set. Definitely worth the walk down from Pike's public market.

Simply beautiful and breath taking! I left my heart in Seatlle. Clean and spacious. It is a Great place to be at anytime of the year!!

The best place in Seattle for quiet and views of the city, Mt Rainier, Elliott Bay and the Olympics.

Ask the Community - Pier 62

Are there bathrooms available, or just HoneyBuckets during events?

You can use the ones inside Miner's Landing.

Can you fish?

Yes, it is ok to fish off the Pier 62 floating dock, as long as you do not impede access for other park goers (keep your equipment to a small area, don't block pathways, etc.). Have fun!

Free activity in Seattle, Washington…read more.. When I was at the Post Office, mailing some postcards, the friendly clerk suggested that I go to Kerry Park to view in person, the city skyline as depicted in these postcards... OK! My niece was surprised at the size of "the park". It seems to be more like a strip of lawn instead of a park. Well... we were there for the beautiful view of Seattle and were happy to get a free parking space on the street! There also was an interesting steel sculpture called: Changing Form. It's 15 feet tall and can be used as a nice frame to photograph the Space Needle and its surroundings!

The viewpoint is thoughtfully designed so many people can line up against the railings without too much trouble instead of photographers trying to jockey for space. If you didn't bring binoculars, there's a few coin operated telescopes to help you look at things in the distance. There's also a cool statue here if you're interested, and if you go down the steps there's a small playground. I'm not sure if I've ever seen anyone use the playground though, since there are no bathrooms associated with the park and small kids can have bathroom emergencies. There are businesses nearby where I guess you could technically ask to use the washrooms, but it's just another hassle. Note: street parking only.

A Seattle Gem with Breathtaking Views!…read more Discovery Park is hands down one of the most beautiful spots in Seattle. My husband grew up in Magnolia, so he took me here for a hike last weekend, and I was completely blown away. We explored the south side and walked the Loop Trail. The path is well-maintained and offers stunning panoramic views of the Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains. It's hard to believe you're still within the city limits! It's the largest park in the city, so there is plenty of space to enjoy nature. Whether you want a serious hike or just a peaceful stroll to see the water, this is the place to go. Don't forget your camera--the scenery is post-card perfect!

From an urban park perspective, the only other experience that comes close for me is when I moved to the Old Town Manchester neighborhood in Richmond, Virginia, and had Belle Isle in my backyard, which offers access to hiking, large flat rocks for sunbathing, and whitewater rafting on Class II, III, and IV rapids on the James River right in the middle of downtown. Okay, back to Discovery Park. I spent an entire day exploring the park. I started by ordering a carryout lunch at Damoori Kitchen, which is now closed according to Yelp. I then walked to Discovery Park and hiked the 4.4-mile Discovery Park and Lighthouse Loop. A map for that trail can be accessed using a trail app. The loop trail took me through several ecosystems such as coastal meadows, tidal beaches, forest groves, sand dunes, and vast stretches of thickets with wild berries. Once I finished hiking the loop, I walked back to Damoori Kitchen and caught a rideshare back to downtown Seattle. Highlights from my Discovery Park adventure included eating lunch at the tidal beach, exploring sea cliffs, seeing jaw-dropping views of Mount Rainier, hiking past the West Point Lighthouse, and experiencing the sights, sounds, flora, and fauna of the park's majestic landscape.

If you want to see a good view of Seattle, check out the Volunteer Park Water Tower's observation deck in the southeast corner of Volunteer Park right on top of Capitol Hill. There are bars and fencing at the windows though, which does detract a little from the experience. Between the windows are informational signs about Seattle's history.
