She is genuinely interested in helping me find a bike that fits my age, mobility issues, and budget. (I think there's still a chance she's a bot.) But she seems to care about my needs and texted late Saturday she early Sunday. Who does that? I drove nearly an hour to get to some powersports place on the other side of the metroplex yesterday. Those people couldn't tell me anything. They knew what I wanted before I left home and still didn't have answers when I got there. (I was a tough question: "what's the out the door price on a as particular motorcycle"?) Second girl went to the office to get the information. She was still there when we gave up waiting and left. I have great confidence that Sophia would quickly find out whatever information I needed. Heck, she's provided insight to motorcycles I've looked at at other dealers. This place has unbeatable customer service before you ever get there.

This only applies to the service department. I called them on Thursday to see if the "first come…read morefirst served" deal was still on starting at 9am and a friendly female assured me that it was. I showed up at 8am with wifey's Buddy 125 with a flat for repair. Cameron came out and first asked me if I could pick it up Tuesday or Wednesday since they didn't have a tech to mount the new tire. I explained that I already called and she needed the bike that night for our monthly club ride. Cameron then explained he should have it done by 2pm and it would cost $95 (i supplied the new tire). 2 hours later Cameron called and said now the price would be $165 because they had to remove an exhaust part. I said yes because we needed the bike back for our planned ride. Mind you, Moxie Scooters in Grapevine said they could do the exact same job for $60 dollars but it was too far away to get the bike there on such short notice. I called later to speak with management and they agreed to honor the $95 price but no real plausible explanation for the sudden price increase. She said they had techs with circumstances that kept them away from work at times and I guess customers just have to bear with them. Anyway, when we picked up the bike Cameron said the work did not take as long as he thought so HE bumped the price back down to $95.... the whole thing sounded very shady. I bought BOTH our bikes there but just can't trust them anymore. Moxie Scooters in Grapvine has given us awesome service and that is where both our scooters will go from now on. The Saturday claim of "first come first served" is highly questionable... not the first time we had this sort of issue. After wanting to charge me almost 3 times what Moxie would charge me simply to mount a tire, no more. Can't take our bikes for maintenance to a place we simply don't trust. Respone to GM: 1. I doubt your tecs are almost 3 times better trained or have almost 3 times the expertise than John and his crew at Moxie based on Cameron's attempt to bilk me for $165 to mount a Buddy tire when Moxie qouted me $60 for the exact same job. 2. If you are going to promote "first come first served" on Saturday well you better have the tecs there that can do the work. Customers really don't care about the excuses just like you would not care if a vender or customer skipped payment and then just gave you excuses. Those whose bikes are their only form of transport may really be counting on that Saturday to get to work Monday morning. 3. Had it not been for your intervention I have zero doubt Cameron would have stuck my wife with a $165 bill for changing a tire.... we were stuck and at his mercy. 4. At our group ride two different newbies asked where we do service.....I completely filled them in. This debacle was a topic of discussion with a number of riders. Scooters are probably small potatoes for you guys but word does get around. It's nothing personal... you're sweet and all there are always nice. But we've spent thousands in your store on bikes and service.... you better take good care of those folks because when the leave they won't be back and they will relay their bad experiences to all who will listen.

I asked for a better price or discount and was told that the best they could do was to match the Polaris website. I told them that I had been given a discount in the past since I was shopping local and was a loyal customer. I was told they don't do that anymore. I asked for a manager and was told that there was no manager at the business, this was Thursday afternoon...a regular work day in the middle of the day, and when I questioned where the managers were I was told they were off. I requested that the employee call a manager and he agreed but then walked off so that there would be no chance I could speak to them. Later talked to a manager and he stated this was not a store for me. I agree. I will spend my $ elsewhere.

Mike, the owner is very sharp, knows his way around just about any bike out there. They have always been quick to diagnose my issues, and with a full shop, have tried their very best to get my bike back to me quickly. The shop has that old school vibe, you won't find a fancy waiting area here, or tvs set up to sit around. The front show room staff have that good ole boy vibe, and will make sure that if they don't have the part I'm looking for, they will find it for me. The building is a little older, easy access from 2 streets, and a quick turn around on oil changes and tire jobs. Don't listen to the bad reviews on here, people have bad days, and nobody is perfect. If you want a shop that has the parts in stock, especially for older models, can do the service work at an honest price, then this is the shop for you. If you want the fancy waiting room, with couches and coffee machines, then go to the stealership and expect to pay more than twice the price. ​

Upon arriving at the dealership, I was greeted by the H-D Riding Academy Instructor Zakk Zaccagnini, who showed us around. Could not have been nicer! Worked out the deal with Pedro and Sales Rep. Turns out I had a faulty rear cam phase wire. Unfortunately, I am out of warranty with only 3100 miles on my bike. Maverick service team stepped up, got it fixed and sorted it out with Harley Corporate. It appears all the guys in there are GS enthusiasts so we're super knowledgeable. I met Steven as I was wondering around, he wanted to know if I needed help or had any questions. Super low pressure. So took this bike for a ride and fell in love with it. I wasn't able to purchase that day so I put alittle money to hold the bike. When I was ready to buy he sent the app and by the time I got there it was all ready to go. We were able to work out a deal and the rest is history. Here is the really cool part! I felt really welcome, he talked about riding and everything in between. These guys are not salesmen they are enthusiasts! I can't stand sales people but every single guy I met in the store is happy saddle up and ride with! Knowledgeable, friendly and real. I never once got any pressure to close a deal just to find the right bike and make sure I was over informed and fully prepared! Steven kinda ruined every motorbike sales guy for me! Finance manager Cole was awesome! His big thing was making sure we left happy, if we could get a deal fantastic but again his love of the bike and brand as well as integrity for his work and company shone through. Big D has a fine collection of different Norton, Triumph and other assorted bikes from the late-60s to the early-80s in immaculate restored condition. For the uninitiated, there is a slight learning curve involved in transitioning from a modern electric ignition bike with standardized shifting to a classic euro bike. First, there's no electric start. You'll be getting vigorously acquainted with a kickstarter on most of the models. Second, there is a variety of shift patterns, some are left side, some are right side, some are 1d5u, while others are 1u5d. Best of luck remembering. The last thing to remember about riding around on a loud, fast cafe racer from England is that the bikes of yesteryear shake. And how. It is not uncommon to arrive at a destination to find out your taillight is barely hanging on by the last thread of only one screw as it has backed out and is now trying to leave you. This is part of the allure of fun old bikes. You get to tinker. And who better to ask how to trick out your cafe racer than the staff of Big D. These guys regularly swing down to the Saltflats and have run streamliners and set records. They have bikes in fully restored conditioned, and in rolling frames. If you've got questions, they've got answers when it comes to the classics. This is a must-stop on a Saturday ride around the Metroplex.
