My favorite things here was looking at all the different birds, observing the wildlife, and sitting by the ocean. It was so beautiful everywhere you went! We also saw so many wild lemurs here throughout the park which was cool. However, since the park was so big, we ended up spending a lot of time walking to each experience. There is SO much to do that you genuinely can't fit it all in one day--underground rivers, beaches, snorkeling spots, wildlife exhibits, and cultural experiences throughout the park. Everything is beautifully maintained, super clean, and very well organized. The staff was helpful from start to finish, and the whole place felt safe and easy to navigate. Food options were plentiful with something for everyone, and it was a huge plus that meals were included. There's also plenty of parking (we didn't have to pay), which made getting there stress-free. A few helpful tips: * Bring water shoes - you'll thank yourself in the rivers * Bring a waterproof phone pouch - must-have for photos * You'll need to sign a waiver at the start * You'll receive a wristband + locker key with a chip (included, no extra charge--just don't lose it!) * There are plenty of showers and changing areas, plus parking within the park Be prepared--there is a LOT of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and pace yourself. Overall, this place is a must-do if you're visiting Mexico. It's the perfect mix of adventure, nature, and culture all in one unforgettable experience.

If anyone wants to visit a dying water park, this is it!…read more More than half of the attractions were closed on a Saturday in June. It looked like there wasn't anywhere near enough staff to open the rides. All of Aaahventura was closed the entire day except for the zip line for 1 hour. They'll tell you to keep coming back later in the day (4pm) so they can get one large group in, then shut the ride down again. All of the large water slides were closed. I've never seen an empty lazy river in the middle of summer until I came here. You have to rent inner tubes for $150 MXN so anyone who ventured in there just swam it and ignored all the signs saying not to do that. The lifeguard was cool about it. Don't waste your time at this park unless you're getting free tickets and you can drive out of there once you've had enough!

Half the rides were closed. The zip lining was cool but only opened for a few hours. So you had to plan between that and the water park. The lines were short, so that was cool too.

Like all the other reviews say, it was a little run down... and pretty dead. There were not a lot of options for the slides, and we went through it basically the first hour. We went because we basically had to in order to get in to the Dolphin swim activity. It came with a package we purchased from the hotel using our resort credits. The price itself, I guess since we used resort credits and we got admission to both wet n wild and dolphin swim, it wasn't too bad, so I wouldn't know what the real price is for getting in here by itself. Also, it comes with lunch, but the lunch itself was really bleh. I guess my expectation at the time was really high because of the Sun Palace food that we've been getting, so it's not necessarily a fair comparison. So yes, basically after our dolphin swim was over which was at 2 pm, we took a taxi and left the park right away. Didn't care that there was a bus that was coming to pick us up at around 430pm. Sad to say, my time was better spent in the hotel napping and lounging rather than in this park.

After a 30 minute boat ride to the park located right on the beach, we arrived to see seaweed piled on the beach, giving a terrible sewage like smell throughout the entire park. There are only 3 main slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. The park opens at 10am but the only thing open was the wave pool. Everything else opened 10:30 and later. From booking with Moon Palace, a voucher for 3 drinks and 1 meal were included. Meal choices included tacos, pizza, or burgers. Out of everything I think the burgers were the best however food is only barely edible. I thought other reviews were over exaggerating, but they are true. Birds are flying everywhere around the park trying to pick at the food, even from the trash can. Bird poop is all over the lounge chairs. And metal is rusty everywhere. You get through all the activities in the first hour in the park and then you wait around for the boat to take you back to your resort. I would give this place zero stars if I could. One star for the 3 free alcoholic drinks I had to bare with this place.

Quick tip for anyone going: when you walk out of the port and head to the taxi line, don't just jump into the first one. Our first driver tried to upcharge us quite a bit. We kept walking and were able to negotiate. I had heard it's usually around $15 per ride (not per person), but we ended up paying $20 -- and honestly it's a bit of a drive, so I get it. Also... those taxi drivers drive like we're in GTA. Once we arrived, the vibe was totally peaceful. Yes, the chairs are fairly close together (similar setup to Mr. Sanchos), but Paradise Beach felt much calmer and less of a party scene, which we really appreciated. The food and drinks were actually really good for an all-inclusive beach club. We tried quite a few things: * Nachos * Quesadillas * Blue cheese burger * Grilled shrimp * Coconut shrimp * Grilled mahi tacos -- which were the highlight The beach was nice, the pool was great, and you basically pick your "home base" (pool or beach) so your waiter knows where to find you for food and drinks. A few other things worth noting: Great bathrooms and changing rooms Lockers available (extra fee) Inflatable water park for kids (extra fee) Paddleboards and snorkeling (extra fee) Would I go again? Yes.

This place came highly recommended on social media of moms who have littles in swim diapers. We…read moredidn't book an excursion through the cruise line but found a great option right at the pier before reaching the Cozumel sign. A gentleman had a booth for Playa Mia. You can purchase the $15 day pass to access the beach. There was another package that included food, but it seemed unnecessary since we didn't plan on staying too long. My goal was getting a spot where the kids can play with sand. The weather had been iffy too. It was raining on the taxi ride there, but thankfully it let up by the time we walked to the beach area. Once we arrived, we did have to pay $6 for an umbrella to use with our beach chairs. The umbrella kept closing so we had to get somebody to keep opening it back up. Finally, they told us they had to close the beach umbrellas for 30 minutes due to the wind that was coming. That was my sign to leave since it had already poured on our way there. The bathrooms are located to the left of the open buffet area. They have a feet washing area in front of the bathroom. There are two entrances. The left is for the toilets and the right is for the showers. Inside the shower area they have the baby change table. The beach area itself was clean and well maintained. Once you get there, keep going all the way inside. There were will be stores and excursions you can purchase. The ticket area to show you paid and to get your wristband will be on the left. We purchased a sand bucket that came with a toy from a store there for $10. They offer fun inflatables in the water for the older kids and banana boat rides. We apparently had a server who was helping our area. The gentleman who served us was friendly and attentive. My little one was thrilled to have chicken wings. We asked for the sauce on the side and the wings were crispy. We also tried the fajitas and they were pretty good. The salsa had a nice kick. I would definitely skip on the bean and cheese nachos! Overall, it was a great, affordable way to enjoy some time at the beach without committing to a full day excursion. I'd recommend this for anyone looking for a low-key, budget-friendly beach day with the kids.

I want to caveat this review straight away - we visited on a pretty quiet day. We came in on a…read moreDisney cruise and I checked before booking and only 1 other cruise ship was in port on the day we visited and that ship was a more adult oriented cruise line. Because of that I was fairly confident Playa Mia would not be overly full and I turned out to be correct. After doing some research before going there are other offerings that are better for pure adult visitors and Playa Mia strikes a good middle ground for everyone. We picked this beach park because it was the only one that didn't nickel-and-dime you on every little add-on: for example the obstacle course/water park is included with the all-inclusive package we bought. As I mentioned, we did get the all-inclusive package including travel. Some of the other guests were not on all-inclusive visit and most opted for their own travel. Having already been once, next time I may handle travel myself as I am an experienced traveler and the taxi's were very friendly, however with a young one in tow I must say the friendliness and helpfulness of the people who met us and arranged our travel in both directions was amazing and I absolutely do not regret paying a little extra for the included travel. Ultimately they did just put us in a taxi that they paid for but they met us super close to the boat exit and walked us all the way to the taxi stand and dealt with telling him where to go, etc. That was nice while we dealt with our hyped up kids in a new environment. I can't speak to the non all-inclusive experience but if you don't plan to drink a lot (including water/soft drinks for the kids) I think it can be a bargain. However, with the full package we bought, the only thing I ended up paying for was a deposit on the towels that we ultimately got back. I did tip our server (Alberto was awesome) decently well because of how much work he did during the almost full day we were there - so tipping is an additional expense that happens in any kind of place like this. One note, I did go for the top level all-inclusive package and with that the adults got a Tequila tasting and the kids got a chocolate tasting. Obviously the intent of these is to sell some goods but don't skip out on these if you get them - both tastings were delicious and even though we never buy anything at these things, in retrospect we still wish we had picked up some coffee Tequila. Because the day we visited wasn't super crowded, we had such a great time. The facilities are on the older side and the landscaping isn't perfectly manicured but it's on a beautiful beach and there was at least a little something for everyone: from 5 years old to 40. If it were considerably busier, that might pose an issue but they have a lot of room for people to spread out so except for the buffet being busy, I think it would take a lot of people for it to ruin your day.

Even the taxi drivers tried but we decided to buy tickets at the entrance. Taxis are $5 pp. It's about 15-20 minutes from downtown. Vendors tried to sell us tickets again but we ended up walking up to the booth and a guy came by to help us. We were able to bargain the price a bit. He handed us to another man who lead us to the beach lounge chair area. We brough our own gear and we were able to get free life vest (they keep your id until you return it). The ocean is so salty so we were super bouyant. You wouldn't even need the jacket. There were fish but not a big variety and they were clustered in sereval spots. Water is clear but overall same same most of the area. So don't expect much in terms of snorkeling. Water temp is nice in beginning of April. Shower and bathrooms were clean. Botanical garden is like a small forest with some trees. No flowers. I spotted a big iguana. Sea lion show was short and entertaining. All in all a good way to spend several hours off the ship. Linda's snack bar- We were lead to this area by the man at the entrance. Apparently there are several food stalls and where you end up sitting is where you end up eating/drinking. Server was super attentive and kept coming by to ask if we wanted to order more. Lots of chairs and hut like umbrellas for shade. Their hammocks as located set back from the beachfront by the restrooms. There are outdoor showers. At the beach you can walk down the stairs to the corals and snorkel. We ordered: Beef tacos: carne was much better than the place in costa maya. Beef nachos: 5/5 big portions, chips piled high with real melted cheese (not nacho cheese), beans, guacamole and meat. Very good! Chicken nachos: 5/5 just like above but with diced chicken. Several buckets of beers: comes with a plate of chips and salsa. Other alcohol.

The photos online are old and even some of the slightly more recent photos from reviews just months ago do not match what you actually experience. We went for the manatee swim. Booked directly through Chankanaab. Get there early as requested for our 10 a.m. swim and were told that despite our confirmation stating 10 a.m., we were scheduled for 2 p.m. Ummm no. Thankfully, they got us in at 10:20 (which actually took place closer to 10:40, so we were relieved. The Manatee experience was great for what it was. We learned that of the 4-5 manatees there, only one is a rescue, which is disappointing. Our instructor, a woman (don't remember her name) was soooo sweet. I felt like we spent a great amount of time with Edgar, the manatee. We pet, fed, swam with, and kissed him. I'd say it was well worth the price but them forcing you to pose and repose in an effort to sell the $75 photo package was crazy. No phones allowed. They mislead you into paying $14 to rent a raggedy, dirty locker, but when you get to the encounter area, you see there are free boxes for your belongings. After, we grabbed food and headed to explore the park and this is where things went downhill. The service in the food areas immediately by the encounter area was okay: rice (undercooked and more bland than you'd expect), two "charcuterie" options, fruit (not quite ripe or sweet enough (no mango), tortilla chips, refried beans (these were good and I don't like refried beans normally), salsa, corn tortillas, Mexican pork, and fish ceviche (actually not bad). To be included, it wasn't bad, but had I paid extra for food, I'd be underwhelmed. The service at the eating spots was good. Very attentive. Drinks were also included and avail in eating area. I stuck with the Blue Lagoon (sprite, vodka and blueberry). It was tasty but weak... UNTIL I got to the pool. HUGE SHOUTOUT to Jonathan at the pool bar who actually brought some life and vibes to the pool and whole damn park. Jonathan made the day great. He was a fantastic bartender!!! Now, for the rest of the park: wow, this place has gone downhill. I don't know if they got hit by a storm or what but the amenities are in bad shape. Have of the walkway area is not accessible and they've moved statues and photo opp spots to weird places. The lagoon looked crazy AF. The beach and snorkeling area was very laughable. It's covered in sargassum and rock and is tiny. What's worse: you have to "consume something" from a private and aggressive vendor (not included) to sit in the chairs at the tiny beach. It's this same vendor who provides the high-pressure tequila tasting. Snorkeling gear was another add-on. Ohhh, and no towels are included. You rent those, too. Honestly, outside of the encounters and pool bar, this place sucksss. Do your encounter, grab a couple drinks, then dip. Or... go to KUZA.

The pools are great and the lazy river was a ton of fun for the kids. There are so many options of things to do both inside and outside of the resort. One of my favorite things is that activities just kept coming to us! There's water Zumba and a water fitness class. There's a fun competitive sport in the pool every single day. They set up a really cool obstacle course in the pool for kids. We had a dance party, a foam party, and most importantly for the adults - a swim up bar with bar tenders that made excellent margaritas, daquiris, pina coladas and caipirihnas. The staff here were super friendly and that goes for every part of the hotel. The service at the restaurants. the towel person, the entertainment. Everyone was friendly and attentive to our kids and to the adults in our party. The only negative I would say is the food. But honestly, Ive never had good food at an all inclusive resort so thats just something that is par for the course. There's a grill where you can request freshly grilled meats and fish, and if you stick to that, you'll be good. Otherwise, it was all subpar food. I didnt take a star away because I dont expect food to be good at a resort, and this is based on my experience. how relaxing it felt, how much fun the kids had. the cleanliness of the beach and pool and resort in general. the fun and entertainment, and of course, the well made and delicious drinks. A 5 star experience all around. We will definitely be back!

I am going to do my best to provide a fair and honest review. However, this resort is a classic…read more"lipstick on a pig" situation. If you value any of the below, reconsider booking here. - Customer Service - Value for your money - Food Quality I will touch on the aspects of all below. First I must say, with customer service, if a tip is expected or you are in a situation where a tip is appropriate your service will be exceptional. However, if it is simply an issue you are having, they do not care. For example we are 1 week in to our 2 week (12 day) stay, and the internet died In our room. Not really a big deal, but when brought to their attention they assumed we simply didn't know what we were doing, and didn't know how to connect. They made us feel like idiots for an hour, before they finally looked into the issue. Despite multiple screenshots being sent that we were indeed connected, but had no internet connection. It's so wonderful to pay $35,000 to stay here and be treated like a moron. For my next example, the "service" at the buffet. Breakfast service is fantastic, never have we had poor service at breakfast or lunch in fact. However we have been through now 3 dinners where a server never appeared. I had to get my own water canisters from the serving stations so that my family and I could have a drink, and our plates were never cleared. Once we were sat with 6 place settings for 7 people, and they actually argued that there were 7 there. I am not blind, and I can indeed count to at least 10 regularly. Finally the host set down a single fork, knife, and spoon and tossed a napkin at our 7th guest. Again, merely two examples of continuous bad experiences. - Value for your money ties into service and food. The food on the buffet is subpar, and always cold. It appears there is a lot of options, but they repeat frequently and a lot of the time dinner is what's for breakfast. For example the day before yesterday I had mushroom stew, which wasn't bad, but then it was what was for breakfast the next day. Not many fruit options, in particular for a tropical destination. We have more variety in the middle of winter in Canada on a fruit tray from the grocery store than what they offer here. - The food ... ah the food. I chose to write this now because my daughter seems to have gotten food poisoning from here. Initially I was going to wait until the end of our stay but I am done. All of the seafood has been overcooked and dry, while items like Lamb and Pork are undercooked. Due to the humidity the cereals are not edible, as they are completely soggy. You can't bite through it even, again we're talking cereal here. Proper storage is for sure not happening in my opinion. Things are readily available here, which is nice, however it does not make up for everything else. We also wanted to plan a beach dinner, and despite the friends and family dinner being listed at 1500 pesos on their own app, they will only offer us the Romantic option, which is over 4000 pesos per person. We were quoted $2300 USD for a dinner for 7. We have had their food, and service so this price is quite laughable. *** Edit to add*** They have now given my full name and room number to total strangers. This is a major safety issue for my family. We are also up to two people with food poisoning now. Just found out accidentally that you need to have a reservation to be able to eat on the 24th, then they told us that we also need one the 25th. So I go to guest services and I am once again told I am stupid (Alfred literally spelled open out like O P E N to me like I'm dumb) because apparently you do not need a reservation to eat the 25th. I am apparently just supposed to take their word for it. ***Second Edit*** The hotel is insistent on doubling down that they are perfect. Please do not waste your money and stay here. We were seated at their Christmas dinner, to a table that quite literally had dirt on it. The food was disgusting as well. Mashed potatoes tasted like smoke, the cranberry sauce (yes labelled was cranberry sauce) was made with Apples. On top of the lack of food safety here, they are going to cause someone to die of an allergic reaction, if not just food poisoning. The room above us continues to scream and move furniture back and forth all night and day (I really want to know what they're doing?!) and the hotel won't do a thing. It took us 2 hours to get bedding and a cot for our son, and then when it arrived it was disgustingly dirty. Now we are trying to finally leave this craphole, and we have private transfers booked. The bell man took it upon himself to come and scream and argue with me that we need to be on the bus, despite us telling him we have a transfer. Please use caution before booking here.
