This place is near the south end of the island. Golf cart parking is easy, and since the place was not busy, we parked right next to the entrance. The zip line was the highlight of our visit... bring your own towels, they provide a locker (food and drinks we didn't venture to try, and snorkel mask, like jacket, leaking snorkel, and free parking..

Great place to go and chill out. Is in family plan. There will be open bar. If you buy in advance, can be cheap. Food is ok, (Or bad). But activities are great like snorkel, zip lining, etc. Staff is very friendly and supportive.

I know everyone has different opinions, and I see a lot of negative reviews, but in my case, it wouldn't be fair if I didn't post a positive review. The views are amazing; it doesn't get better than this, believe me. We did the snorkeling activity and had a lot of fun. We definitely enjoyed and relaxed by the infinity pool, just looking at that turquoise water. The workers are very nice and respectful. We didn't get the VIP pass, but the Bucanero buffet (the one we had access to) was just okay. We weren't there for the food anyway. Advice: bring a towel and a full bottle of sunscreen. To make the adventure more fun, book the tour that takes you to swim with dolphins, and the same boat will take you to this park. Enjoy Mexico!

I was very excited to book this excursion with my entire family. There were a total of 22 of us and we all booked separately. The information on the website is a little hard to sift through or to understand but essentially, they really try to upsell you on purchasing the VIP package, which is what happened to us when we actually went to go get our wristbands the day of our excursion, we watched a lot of YouTube videos to understand what to expect and everything look really cool. The lady at the desk knew how old my three children were and still up sold me on the wristbands stating that they could paddleboard and kayak. These were both things that my two girls wanted to do so I of course purchased the upsell. I paid a total of $500, for five of us, this included the fairy to the island lunch, and then I would say the two main activities which is zip lining and snorkeling. When it came time to try and use the paddleboard's in the kayaks, my girls were told that those are for 18 and older. They weren't even allowed to have an adult on them. Then my daughter got in a kayak with her aunt while we were told in line that me and my 14 year old daughter couldn't go on a kayak together , they give you a key for the locker. I miss placed it and understood that I was responsible for the fee to replace it which was five dollars they told us it would either be five dollars in US money or 100 pesos I said of course please unlock the locker and we will go pay it. We go to pay it and they tell us well now it'll be six dollars and I said well. The lady told us it would be five I'm not understanding and they refuse to take the money. Then the staff swarmed us saying you need to pay it. I said we have the money right here no one will take it. I went up to the lady gave her the money and then all the stuff we're staring at us for the rest of the time that we were there. Part of the VIP package is access to the private VIP locker rooms to which they do not tell you about these locker rooms are air-conditioned and wonderful. We were pointed to the locker rooms where there is no AC and is for people who do not pay the VIP package. The drink bar is all the way at the top so if you're down where the activities are or sitting under the shade, you have to walk all the way up, and there was always a long line, making it very difficult to get drinks there. The ferry on the way back was a mess. They heard you on like cattle , we told them that we were waiting for someone to come back from the bathroom as we didn't wanna lose anyone from our party, and they were very pushy and kept telling us to hurry up and get on the boat and we finally told him no, and they were still trying to physically push us into the boat. I've done other boating, excursions like this and the staff are typically very friendly and work very hard you know because they want a tip. This group of staff were all very short, rude, impatient, and expected a tip and walked around with a box like in your face for a tip it was very uncomfortable. I just felt like they really didn't want to earn it was almost expected And after paying $500 for a few hours here at this park, I really would not recommend this to anyone it's a small little area that you get to snorkel and you see very few fish. The zip line is a long wait and the pool was algae green and not fresh at all. That's really all they had to do there.

This is a beautiful place to visit. The boat service ran efficiently and on time. Overall, the VIP package was a decent value. However, there is zero food available until noon and then the actual buffet begins at 12:30pm. The food selection is somewhat limited (I was hoping for plenty of fish but was disappointed). A lot of things are in disrepair (some showers not working, bathroom door not locking, etc.). I was not impressed with the attitude of the servers as they seemed bothered to have to do any work. The ocean and pool water was very warm and clear. There is no sandy beach. You need to wear a life preserver at all times in the ocean even if you have 30 years of diving experience.

The location is beautiful with breathtaking ocean views. The infinity pool allows guests to gaze on the ocean while enjoying the cool refreshing water. The zip line with three consecutive stations was fun and efficiently run. The snorkeling activity allowed us to swim through seaweed (not fun) and see a few fish (fun). The kayaks were closed due to the windy weather, much to our disappointment. The food service was terribly slow and the food itself was mediocre. Checking in was inefficient. We were able to get the youth price for two adults and were thankful for the discount. The location earns five stars and the service earns two stars.

I'm surprised by all of the negative reviews. This was my favorite thing on Isla Mujeres. I was traveling solo in early December, I like activity, and I am not a drinker, so those things may give me a different perspective. I thought the grounds of Garrafon were beautiful. If you are not staying at a resort, but want a day time resort experience I think this is a great place. They have comfortable lounge areas to lay out in the sun, neat huts for shade, and all-inclusive drinks available. The view from their property is stunning. My belongings felt very safe as they have free lockers with keys in their rest area. The restrooms were ok, but the rest of the facilities were very clean and well maintained. The food that comes with the general pass is below average. That is true. But, I didn't come for the food. I had the cheap buffet lunch, and was glad that food was provided as I wanted to enjoy the activities and lay out in the sun. Set your expectation low for the buffet lunch (kids may love it as there are things like hot dogs and fries). The drinks were average. I mainly had juice smoothies (not fresh fruit) and water. It was nice to have there when I wanted it. During my 4 hours at Garrafon, I went zip lining, snorkeling, paddle boarding, enjoyed their infinity pool, and was entertained by people taking their IG model pics. The zip lining isn't super long, but it's a cool experience to do over the beautiful blue water. You get to zip line over the Caribbean! Paddle boarding was neat. I wish the boundaries were bigger to go out more, but it makes sense with the waves. Snorkeling was amazing! I never snorkeled before so this seemed like a great intro. You are not allowed over the rope lines onto the reef, but you can get close. I saw a ton of fish and they got so close. It was sweet. I also went out to the dock to try out the water hammocks (they didn't work super well with a life jacket) and to jump in off the dock. Jumping in was fun, just be careful for the mouthful of saltwater. The pool and the lounge area were refreshing, clean, and comfortable. Great places to relax or soak in the sun. *Note - I did not do the dolphin experience (not included in general admission I got). I paid at the front check in area and it was only $50 (that is cheaper than the deals I found online). That convinced me to go for it. And it was worth it! I think that's a great deal for everything you get for a day at Garrofon. I wish I would've had a couple more hours there. I bought some pictures (but not at full price - as that's too expensive for me) and have some great memories from Mujeres. I'm glad I went for it...maybe you will be, too.

    Not good food
    Diana N.

Its not an easy access to snorkel. Waves are harsh. Zipline is short and mediocre. We purchased the general admission and the food is disgusting... bland and tasteless. Don't recommend...

More pictures advertising the reef. Lies.
    Joshua S.

This is a rip-off and a scam. I visited today based on their website advertising that you could swim/snorkel a coral reef. You are not allowed to actually do that. They intentionally lie to get guests. I requested a partial refund and they refused. I was extremely kind and courteous when I filed this complaint. I spoke with a manager, Ricardo. I asked him for a partial refund because there was no coral reef to view during snorkeling. He told me we do not advertise that you can do so. I anticipated this and showed him the images that I have attached here. They have multiple images of people swimming in close proximity to the reef. They also say, "you will be able to swim around the entire reef". Despite showing him this proof he refused to give me even a partial refund after his associate Oscar lied and said that he showed me some sort of information that said I cannot swim with the reef. I have also attached the information that was provided. He then told me to write a formal complaint on a provided form. I did so. He told me that he needed it to make "the company better". I told him my consulting services in this matter came to $98. He didn't like my joke. I told him again, you want me to pay you $100 for your lies. He still upheld that they were not lying. I submit the images attached for you to evaluate. Oscar did nothing but try and up sell me to their VIP package and explained that I could snorkel, zip line, eat, etc. I thanked them for their time, left, and stopped a four folks outside who were about to go in and told them that there was no snorkeling at the coral reef and they left. Oscar, Ricardo, you could have refunded me $98 and I would of kept quiet, but here you go, Amigos. You thought you would call my bluff. Mistake. You're down $392 already.

Ramiro! Made our day, such a funny guy and a great employee!
    Sammi B.

I went with a party of 8 adults and we all enjoyed our day there. We went with the VIP pass and I'm glad we did! Most of our day was spent lounging on the adult VIP deck, the food was surprisingly good and the service was all around great! We were lucky enough to have Ramiro serve us all day, he was wonderful and made our day! Zip lining was so much fun. Unlike most of my previous zip line experiences this one was faster, as in they prepped you and had you up and going within 10 minutes. We could've gone multiple times but only went once. It was too rough for kayaking or snorkeling which was pretty disappointing but the area looked small anyway. Infinity pool was great, the little grottos looked really cool. Hammocks are a nice touch although we didn't use them. It was a good spot to take a day trip (we were in Cancun at the Hard Rock for 7 days) although I couldn't see myself spending much more time there as its limited to activities.

We didn't want to be running around in the hot sun, and we figured the lines would be lighter in the evening. Surprisingly, it was still super busy! We visited in early January, and the evening temperatures were mild. You can visit as many attractions as you like during your visit. We started out ziplining and moved our way to the amphibious vehicles, cave rafts, and a few water slides. Our faces hurt from laughing so much. The provided dinner is buffet style and surprisingly good! Lots of options, including vegan and vegetarian. The dining hall is huge, so you're not siting elbow-to-elbow with randoms. They spaced everyone out nicely (plus not everyone is dining at the same time). Water shoes are required. You can purchase them on-site for $20, and these suckers will last you a lifetime. They're nice quality and comfortable. I have plantar fasciitis, and my feet were protected and cushioned the entire time. Helmets are required and provided. There are lockers, but the rooms are all co-ed. You will need to bring your own towel. Phones are discouraged, as you need to hold on with both hands when participating in many of the activities. You can buy a waterproof case to hang around your neck if you'd like. YOU WILL GET WET ON NEARLY EVERY RIDE. Wear swimwear and something over it if you don't want your hiney hanging out. The staff are SUPER patient and very friendly. Everyone is bilingual (Spanish/English) so no worries about communication barriers. This place is fun for kids all the way up to (fit) senior citizens. There is a lot of walking, so be forewarned! Taxis are easy to catch here, with the assistance of the outdoor staff. It was about a $40 fare from and to our Riviera Maya hotel (Hard Rock). However, when I arrived, it was a lot smaller and a lot more underwhelming than it was described to be. It was also pretty cold on the day I was going and everything involved water. The zip line was a pretty fun attraction, but was just so short. If you went on the bigger zip line, you went on three different zip lines to get down. At the end, you land in water. It was exciting to see the views about the tree tops. The other fun attraction here was the ATVs. It is a pretty bumpy ride (which you also get splashed with water), but somebody in your party gets to drive. You can drive as crazy as you want or as tame as you would like. My husband drove insanely, and if I did not have my seatbelt on, I would've actually fallen out of the vehicle. The caves were another attraction and you could go through it by walking or/and by rafting. we did both, but the rafting was super slow and difficult to move. We saw some fish in the water and it was cool to see the inside of the cave. We didn't end up going on the water slides, but we finished the rest of park and ate lunch there in about three hours. The zip line in ATV was fun, but if I could redo or Cancun trip, I wouldn't have come to this park.

There is SO much to do that you genuinely can't fit it all in one day--underground rivers, beaches, snorkeling spots, wildlife exhibits, and cultural experiences throughout the park. Everything is beautifully maintained, super clean, and very well organized. The staff was helpful from start to finish, and the whole place felt safe and easy to navigate. Food options were plentiful with something for everyone, and it was a huge plus that meals were included. There's also plenty of parking (we didn't have to pay), which made getting there stress-free. A few helpful tips: * Bring water shoes - you'll thank yourself in the rivers * Bring a waterproof phone pouch - must-have for photos * You'll need to sign a waiver at the start * You'll receive a wristband + locker key with a chip (included, no extra charge--just don't lose it!) * There are plenty of showers and changing areas, plus parking within the park Be prepared--there is a LOT of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and pace yourself. There will be other opportunities to take selfies of you being in the ceiling, standing over a bottomless pit, or jumping towards the ground...it's all crazy in the Pueblo Abajo Town. The Xensatorium will have you enter a totally darkened tunnel where you will have to use the rest of your senses to feel, smell, and listen your way through the cave...cold, wet, warm, breezy, misty, ...finally ending in a cavern. The bird experience is extremely short, but it heads up the way to the heated float pools, and the muddy river, ...bucket showers will clean you off and you're onto the next one. I thought it was fun, and you can stay there as long as you like. The one thing I don't like about it is the Xnack bar isn't free, you have to pay for the food here...unlike the other parks. If you like selfies, you'll enjoy this park.

Very Creative!!! If you are staying at an Xcaret property, this park is included and worth a few hours. They had both day and night experiences. Photo-ops galore.

The 4 wheelers are in very poor condition and held together with numerous zip ties. A couple of them broke down on our ride. The trails are very beat up from over use. They service many hotels along the hotel zone, and their customer service online is convenient and answers any questions as soon as possible. The drive to the site is not too long and upon arrival you're greeted by the extremely friendly and hospitable staff. Once you check in, you are offered to upgrade your experience by paying a supplementary fee to add on a more VIP experience package which consists of a smaller tour group, more hands on, unlimited food, and such. I was by myself so I decided to opt in, and was given a complimentary glass of champagne as well. It was an additional $50 to upgrade which wasn't that bad and after the excursion was over, I felt it was extremely worth it. The other groups seemed very crowded and it would be less enjoyable granted these were all shared activities. You are then given a wristband and taken to the gift shop area where you can purchase items such as goggles for the ATV, scarves and protective gear, snorkeling equipment, and water shoes. You can also buy souvenirs. Then you are lead to the waiting area where you can meet everyone in your much smaller group, instructed by the staff what the rules and restrictions are, and you place all of your belongings (including cell phone!) inside a locker. There are no phones allowed at all- but this is also because they offer a photo package at an additional cost which takes professional pictures of you which they will try convincing you to buy since you have no personal photos of yourself. After the first two activities, you are allowed to go to your locker and retrieve your items to change for the cenote, so you can have belongings on you. Now lets breakdown the activities: First stop: ATV ride. Now this starts the tour off strong and this was my personal favorite activity. It was an incredible experience and you get your own ATV so you really can enjoy it to the fullest. You ride through a mud road and path and get to feel like a pro driver almost! It's incredibly fun and exhilarating and I loved every moment I wish it was longer!!! The ATV is easy to handle and the staff is following you on their own vehicle so if help is needed it's always nearby. Second: Zip line! After the intense atv ride, you get right into the next activity which is zip lining. You are harnessed and strapped up safely and then instructed to wait as everyone also gets securely prepared to zip line. The set up is as any standard course, and you walk from line to line and up steps and such to go through it. This was also extremely fun and exciting- if you have never done it before it is somewhat scary at first but it goes quick and is not very high so even an intermediate can do it! This was a little bit tiring because its two intense things back to back but I loved it as well. Third: Tequila tasting You have a small break where you can hydrate at the locker station and get your belongings to head to the tequila tasting. The teacher was extremely funny and educational, and the walk through the forest is actually so beautiful and scenic. The class walks you through a bunch of different kinds of tequila with many different options for all kinds of drinkers. You are also given the option to buy a bottle of tequila to take home! This was an insightful experience and you get to mix and mingle with your fellow group members! There is a break in between where tacos and drinks are served. Chips and guacamole, and you can eat as many tacos as possible and also order other food if you would like. The food was fresh and delicious, as most of the food I had tried in Mexico. Finale: Cenote! Now this was absolutely breathtaking. After changing into your bikini, you are given a life vest and walk(or canon ball) into the cenote. It is something everyone must see in their lifetime. The natural cave and water is stunning, and there are actually bats inside! Small fish also live inside the water. You are in the water cooling off for about 30 minutes and a photographer is following you the entire time! Snapping cute photos. Once everyone is out, you return back to the food area and are then given the option to buy the photos of you taken during the adventure. They are all digitally given to you if you purchase them and extremely good shots! I bought them and will add them to this review. Once the fun is over(sadly) you return to the front of the park, and are instructed which van to get into that will return you back to your hotel. I was exhausted riding back and it was raining so I was tired but arrived to my hotel around 4:30pm. So thankful for being able to participate in this and very appreciative of the staff and wonderful people of Mexico who allow all these amazing things to happen every day!!!! I strongly recommend this to anyone who really wants to explore and do something out of their comfort zone!

I had the pleasure of having a private tour of the facility during a recent cruise to Mexico. As…read morethis was my fourth trip to Cozumel, I decided to book privately outside of the cruise line and do something a bit different. My tour guide Martin gave me the difference that I was seeking. My day started with a welcome Margarita, which was very tasty. I then saw examples of art and culture from around the country. We then moved into the chocolate room where I was welcomed with another drink, a chocolate margarita. Martin then should be the process of making cacao into chocolate bars. I got my hand on the mill and got to make my own cinnamon and sugar bar for cocoa. I was then treated to a dish of mole with chips and chocolate covered snacks. We then went outside to the dioramas and to see the rain ceremony from the flying dancers. The rain ritual was brave and amazing. My favorite part of the experience was the Jose Cuervo Tequila Tasting. I tried three tequilas, looking for the flavor notes of each level of aging. The day ended with a delicious authentic Mexican meal. The park has many very well-made dioramas which help tell the stories as well as a nice collection of art. Our group also enjoyed "The Joy of Chocolate" tour which explained Mexico's importance in the world chocolate trade. We learned where and how chocolate was grown and how it came to be a key crop and export for Mexico. We tasted a wonderful hot Mexican chocolate as well as the raw cacao beans. We then split in to pairs and were directed to a grinder where we ground our own beans and then massaged the product with our hands until the fat had softened. At this point, we added sugar, cinnamon and some vanilla and mixed until the ball was shiny. We pressed in to a mould, added a unique mark and waited for the chocolate disc to solidify. We later wrapped the disc and had a wonderful souvenir of 40% cacao to take home. Really fun! We also tasted a delicious molé and a chocolate margarita. A unique experience and very nice tour at the Discover Mexico Park!
