Whether you're traveling with family, your partner, or solo, this park is worth every penny. Yes, the admission price may seem high at first, but it's truly an all-day experience. Plan to arrive early and spend the entire day exploring everything the park has to offer. I also highly recommend renting a locker to keep your belongings safe while you enjoy all of the activities. If you love the water, don't miss the snorkeling! You can bring your own snorkeling gear or rent it at the park. The underwater world is incredible you'll see exotic tropical fish, sea turtles, stingrays, and so much more in the crystal-clear water. The zoo and wildlife areas are just as amazing, showcasing Mexico's native land and sea animals. And keep an eye out for the adorable coatis (Mexico's version of a raccoon)! If you're lucky, you'll see a whole group of 10 or more roaming around. They're completely harmless, but they are expert snack thieves, so don't leave your food unattended! Even so, they're absolutely adorable and fun to watch. Be sure to enjoy the daytime attractions, but whatever you do, stay for the spectacular two-hour evening show. It beautifully tells the story of Mexico's history and culture through music, dance, and breathtaking performances. The talent of the performers is truly award-worthy, and the show alone is worth the visit. My only suggestion for improvement would be to keep the venue fans running continuously during the nighttime performance. They cycle on and off, and it can get pretty warm especially for children, older adults, and anyone sensitive to the heat. Bringing a personal handheld fan is a great idea if you want to stay comfortable. Overall, Xcaret is one of the most unforgettable experiences in Mexico. I've visited three times, and every trip has been just as magical as the first. If you're planning a trip to Mexico, put Xcaret at the top of your list you won't regret it!

The resort is okay, but if you see reviews rating it higher than three stars, I'd be skeptical. We noticed employees, including lifeguards and other staff, taking scenic photos around the resort throughout the day, which made some of those glowing reviews seem questionable. We were treated well, and the resort technically offered many of the amenities it advertised, but most were at a much lower standard than expected. Food During our stay, only one restaurant was available. Breakfast and lunch were buffet style. Dinner alternated between buffet nights and menu service in the same buffet area. We were able to eat in one of the specialty restaurants only once, and that was because they were repairing the air conditioning in the buffet area. Unfortunately, there was no air conditioning in the main dining area while we were there. The doors were often left open, allowing birds to fly in. The staff did their best to keep them away, but they regularly tried to eat food left on tables and occasionally attempted to get to the buffet. The nights with table service were noticeably better. The food presentation was attractive, and the quality was much higher than the buffet meals. If you're looking for multiple restaurants, lots of variety, and an upscale dining experience, this isn't the resort for you. If you're okay with basic food and limited variety, it may be acceptable. Pools & Water Park The pool tiles are literally coming loose. Our kids spent part of their time collecting loose tiles they found under their feet. We also visited the smaller pool near the condos, which was quieter. The "water park," however, was very disappointing. It has visible rust throughout, one slide was closed our entire stay, and overall it would never pass inspection in the United States. If the water park is one of the reasons you're considering this resort, I would look elsewhere. Activities Kayaks and paddleboats were available, and we saw people using them. We tried miniature golf, but the course is entirely concrete, badly overgrown, and only had two usable golf balls available which didn't work for our family of four. The tennis/pickleball court was flooded and in poor condition. Basketball was available, but during our seven-day stay we only saw that area used once. If activities are an important part of your vacation, this resort will likely disappoint. Beach Volleyball & Beach Soccer Beach volleyball is offered daily near the main pool, but you'll need to pay close attention because the entertainment staff simply walks down with a volleyball without making any announcements. Our small group had fun playing, but the entertainment staff never joined in and rarely kept score when they did, it was often wrong because they were really paying attention. We ended up keeping score ourselves. Even more surprising, when the ball rolled toward the entertainment staff, they stayed seated and had us come and get it instead of tossing it back. We've stayed at several all-inclusive resorts, and this was unlike anything we've experienced. Normally the entertainment staff actively plays with guests and creates an energetic atmosphere. Here, they mostly sat on beach chairs talking with one another or looking at their phones. Beach soccer was another activity our kids enjoyed, but again, guests had to organize it themselves. Rooms The staff worked hard to keep the rooms clean, but they're definitely showing their age. The furniture was worn, the couch had noticeable stains, and the pillows were extremely firm. I didn't sleep particularly well during our stay. On the positive side, the beds were clean, housekeeping provided two bottles of water each day, they brought us a rollaway bed for our fifth guest, and our ocean-view room had an absolutely stunning view. The view did not disappoint, the room overall did. Game Room The arcade games and foosball require payment, but when one of our kids paid to play, a staff member told him the machines didn't even work. The air hockey table was so worn that the wood was splintering near the goals. The ping pong table was uneven, and the paddles were in rough shape. The pool table wasn't bad, but it was clearly older. If the game room is one of the reasons you're booking this resort, don't expect much. Entertainment Each afternoon there were two simple games by the pool, such as throwing a ball into a bucket or knocking over bowling pins. Winners received a "prize," which was usually a "free" photo shoot and printed picture (something that is available to everyone anyway), along with a couple pieces of gold-foil chocolate. The bathtub was disgusting, it looked like it had been broken, glued back together and painted on top. It was an overall mess. And the "beach view" was not worth it. Then we were "upgraded" to a "junior suite". If this is the best they can give than the hotel needs to update a lot. They had tube tvs. Like we are in the 21st century. At least this room had what we needed. The bathroom was still disappointing. It was really plain and nothing "wow". The bed felt not clean. We were very disappointed. The food was ok. Sometimes it was cold when it was cooked food. The playroom had four tables to play with. Two of them were broken. The pool had rust and some corners were chipped away. It did not look appealing. The "free" wifi was not always available even if you were at the lobby. The hotel had nothing more to offer that we were bored most of the nights after dinner. It was very boring. The kids were bored. It's not worth your hard earned money for a vacation. It's falling apart. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I wasted my money on this vacation. So disappointed.

I am writing this review because I believe Paradise Beach needs to seriously address a safety issue…read moreand the way my concerns were handled by management. I have been to Paradise Beach before and understand how the all-inclusive package works, including the alcohol service. My concern is not that alcohol is available -- my concern is what happens when guests are drinking to the point that their safety may be compromised. My 25-year-old daughter is currently visiting Paradise Beach with her boyfriend and a female friend. Based on videos posted online, they were taking shots and participating in the "rainbow" drink challenge over approximately five hours. In the videos, they appeared severely intoxicated. They were impaired to the point that I was genuinely concerned they may not have been able to make safe decisions for themselves, especially while in another country and participating in activities such as water excursions. A person who is extremely intoxicated around water or in an unfamiliar environment can be at serious risk of injury or even death. This is not a minor concern. What concerns me even more is how my safety concern was handled by the manager, Manuel. I called the beach club because I was frightened for my daughter's safety and wanted someone on-site to be aware of the situation. Instead of listening, showing concern, or acknowledging the seriousness of the situation, Manuel was rude, dismissive, and told me that I am her mother and she is my responsibility and can drink as much as she wants. That response was extremely disappointing. I understand that adults are responsible for their own choices, but an establishment that promotes unlimited alcohol also has a responsibility to recognize when a guest may be dangerously impaired and vulnerable. A manager's response to a legitimate safety concern should be compassion, professionalism, and a willingness to help -- not dismissal. At the time of writing this, I do not even know whether my daughter made it safely back to the cruise ship, and I am left worried about her well-being. Paradise Beach needs to review both its alcohol service practices and the behavior and training of its management staff. The issue here is not simply that someone drank too much -- the issue is that a safety concern was raised and was not taken seriously by the person responsible for managing the facility.

We…read moredidn't book an excursion through the cruise line but found a great option right at the pier before reaching the Cozumel sign. A gentleman had a booth for Playa Mia. You can purchase the $15 day pass to access the beach. There was another package that included food, but it seemed unnecessary since we didn't plan on staying too long. My goal was getting a spot where the kids can play with sand. The weather had been iffy too. It was raining on the taxi ride there, but thankfully it let up by the time we walked to the beach area. Once we arrived, we did have to pay $6 for an umbrella to use with our beach chairs. The umbrella kept closing so we had to get somebody to keep opening it back up. Finally, they told us they had to close the beach umbrellas for 30 minutes due to the wind that was coming. That was my sign to leave since it had already poured on our way there. The bathrooms are located to the left of the open buffet area. They have a feet washing area in front of the bathroom. There are two entrances. The left is for the toilets and the right is for the showers. Inside the shower area they have the baby change table. The beach area itself was clean and well maintained. Once you get there, keep going all the way inside. There were will be stores and excursions you can purchase. The ticket area to show you paid and to get your wristband will be on the left. We purchased a sand bucket that came with a toy from a store there for $10. They offer fun inflatables in the water for the older kids and banana boat rides. We apparently had a server who was helping our area. The gentleman who served us was friendly and attentive. My little one was thrilled to have chicken wings. We asked for the sauce on the side and the wings were crispy. We also tried the fajitas and they were pretty good. The salsa had a nice kick. I would definitely skip on the bean and cheese nachos! Overall, it was a great, affordable way to enjoy some time at the beach without committing to a full day excursion. I'd recommend this for anyone looking for a low-key, budget-friendly beach day with the kids.

We came in on a…read moreDisney cruise and I checked before booking and only 1 other cruise ship was in port on the day we visited and that ship was a more adult oriented cruise line. Because of that I was fairly confident Playa Mia would not be overly full and I turned out to be correct. After doing some research before going there are other offerings that are better for pure adult visitors and Playa Mia strikes a good middle ground for everyone. We picked this beach park because it was the only one that didn't nickel-and-dime you on every little add-on: for example the obstacle course/water park is included with the all-inclusive package we bought. As I mentioned, we did get the all-inclusive package including travel. Some of the other guests were not on all-inclusive visit and most opted for their own travel. Having already been once, next time I may handle travel myself as I am an experienced traveler and the taxi's were very friendly, however with a young one in tow I must say the friendliness and helpfulness of the people who met us and arranged our travel in both directions was amazing and I absolutely do not regret paying a little extra for the included travel. Ultimately they did just put us in a taxi that they paid for but they met us super close to the boat exit and walked us all the way to the taxi stand and dealt with telling him where to go, etc. That was nice while we dealt with our hyped up kids in a new environment. I can't speak to the non all-inclusive experience but if you don't plan to drink a lot (including water/soft drinks for the kids) I think it can be a bargain. However, with the full package we bought, the only thing I ended up paying for was a deposit on the towels that we ultimately got back. I did tip our server (Alberto was awesome) decently well because of how much work he did during the almost full day we were there - so tipping is an additional expense that happens in any kind of place like this. One note, I did go for the top level all-inclusive package and with that the adults got a Tequila tasting and the kids got a chocolate tasting. Obviously the intent of these is to sell some goods but don't skip out on these if you get them - both tastings were delicious and even though we never buy anything at these things, in retrospect we still wish we had picked up some coffee Tequila. Because the day we visited wasn't super crowded, we had such a great time. The facilities are on the older side and the landscaping isn't perfectly manicured but it's on a beautiful beach and there was at least a little something for everyone: from 5 years old to 40. If it were considerably busier, that might pose an issue but they have a lot of room for people to spread out so except for the buffet being busy, I think it would take a lot of people for it to ruin your day.

All of the employees here were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the park itself is very nice! Our manatee swim was such an incredible experience! We had a party of 9, so we lucked out and had only us in the group . Our girl who was with us was so kind, patient and very knowledgeable. The manatee was seriously such an amazing experience I'd definitely recommend for everyone to try! While I'm sure photographing kids and even adults during this experience isn't easy... the photographer did an AMAZING job with the pictures, and I love that they have an app where you can download all of the pictures right there when you buy them! The lunch buffet was GREAT, they had the most amazing potato tacos and they really did have a great variety of options so even the pickiest of eaters can find something there! After our the lunch we went and swam in the beautiful beach area where the sand was amazing and so were the bar tenders. My oldest got stung by a jellyfish while we were there and the bartender was so friendly and got us some vinegar to put on it (who knew that helped? Not me!) and a couple mariachi gentlemen came over and sang to her to make her feel better . One of the men from the shop right by there helped me locate Benadryl from the pharmaceria in the park. Overall I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about this place and if you're traveling to Cozumel this is a great experience and park to consider. Purchased through a cruise line. The tour guide met us at the port, separated us into groups, and…read moresent us to the park in separate Taxis. Once we arrived, the guide gave us a brief rundown on our schedule for the day, then showed us to the lockers to put everything away. We were told we could not take sunglasses or anything else out to the dolphin encounter. They really don't want you to take anything that could have a camera in it to take your own photos. We were given life jackets, and before going out to the pier, a photographer asked if we were interested in photos. We chose to get them with the dolphin and the Manatee. They had a security guard checking wristbands and for cameras before you go on the pier. Our group was taken down in the water to stand on a small ledge that was maybe 18" wide, about 3' below the surface of the water. This was in the ocean with constant waves coming in, pushing us. There was a green fence behind the ledge, and you could tell by the way it was bent all over that people had been hanging onto it for years to stay on the ledge. It was just a normal wire chain link fence with lots of sharp edges, so you had to be careful where you held on. I believe the purpose of the fence in the water was intended to catch the seaweed floating in the water. With as much money as this place makes, you think they would be able to afford an actual rail for people to hold onto. They brought out the dolphin, and the whole encounter felt very rushed. We were given a few seconds each to pet him as he went down the line. On the next pass, we got to rub his head, those who chose to buy photos got a little more time for the photographer to get pictures. We took turns rubbing his belly, and then those who were comfortable swimming off the ledge got to swim and splash with the dolphin. Many stayed on the ledge and skipped this due to the waves. I had to pull a couple of people back in myself who had trouble getting back to the ledge. The last activity was putting on a mask and listening to the dolphin squeak underwater, only 4 people felt comfortable swimming in the waves to do that. We got out of the dolphin area and got into a similar enclosure with the Manatee, which was also rushed. The only people who got to spend time with the Manatee were those who opted for photos prior to getting in. The changing rooms were nice in the locker area. We went in to look at our photos and were told to choose our own photos from the group. I was wearing a similar sun shirt as the guy next to me, and I somehow chose several of his photos while selecting from the thumbnail photos. The person assisting us became upset, claiming I was trying to get pictures for the other people. The price for the Dolphin photos was $140, we were given the option of choosing 1 photo with the Manatee for $40 or all of them for $60. We ended up paying $200 for all photos, and they printed 2 of our choice. To get your digital photos, you have to download their app and get the photos while connected to their WiFi. They took so long processing our order and then showing us how to get their app to get the photos that we missed the only Sea Lion show. We walked around the rest of the park and found the Snuba counter. We would have put our swimsuits back on to do that, but there was no one at the counter and no signs saying they were closed for the day. We saw signs for massage, but when we asked, we were led to an area behind a bar, nowhere near the signs. That seemed a little sketchy, so we walked away. When I looked at a map later, it showed the massage area was near the lagoon, not where we had been taken. We had lunch at the included buffet, don't recall what it was. There was a very nice server going around taking drink orders and bringing prompt refills. After lunch, we walked around in the gardens and the Mayan exhibit until it was time to go. To get back to the ship, we were split into separate Taxis again. We got back to the port on time, and we had plenty of time left before we had to be back on the ship.

There were some experiences that she was not allowed to do (which the age limit was NEVER communicated to us). So we then told the trainer that my husband and I will pass on some of the dolphin tricks to allocate that time for our daughter instead to repeat some of the dolphin interaction that she can participate on. The trainer said yes but didn't do any of that. All of this was communicated in clear Spanish so there was no "lost in translation". We ended up paying to see the dolphin interact with the other family that was in our group. We complained and was rudely told that we can file a report (that we all know goes to nowhere) and nothing else can be done. Right after that moment, a family of 8 asked us if the experience was worth it and if they should do it. We said absolutely not. That's all it takes to lose 8 paying customers. Word of mouth from unhappy, disrespected, uncompensated customers. On a different note, we also noticed that our dolphin's nose had a scarred nose that looked like a result from their tricks (that we took a pass on). One of the trick is the dolphin pushes your entire body with a boogie board with the base of your feet using the tip of his nose. A lot of tension and weight for this animal to do - everyday at every hour.

Finally arrive they give my child a broken life vest and I ask for another the guy says no he's fine. We then have the dolphin experience which was lovely. Carla and Angelina were great. Then no further directions we squeezed in the bathroom to change and paid the $7 to rent the towel. Then finally we are shown the beautiful pictures. We wanted one group photo and they said the price is per person not photo! Insane there is 6 of us at $89 a person is ridiculous! We tried to negotiate a deal... his deal was $105 for just the digital photos of the kids. I said I just want one photo of our group and he said they can't do that. Walked out. Why would we pay $89 per person for a photograph. And digital at that. The whole thing is money money so overpriced for the 15 mins we spent with a dolphin. Do not recommend for families on a budget.

The weather for this excursion prevented us from going snorkeling, so they just let us cruise in the fast boats for 2 hours thru the marinas, bays, shorelines and mangroves of Cancun. So much fun. Alex our guide did a great job, even though one of our boats in the party suffered a propeller malfunction, they replaced the boat quickly and made up our downtime. Great time, and will do it again.

We spent the morning getting ready for our noon tour, then took the bus to the location. Through a bit of overzealousness on our part, we arrived 45 minutes early, only to find out the tour was cancelled to do...maybe the wind? The boats and snorkeling weren't possible to go out. A few of us cancelled, but some decided they wanted to still do the trip the following day (our last day), but we asked them to please notify us in case it was cancelled beforehand so they didn't have to take another bus ride for no reason. I emailed the morning of, because of the strong winds all throughout the night. I did receive an email back, saying they hadn't heard if the tour was going to take place but I'd be notified in case of something had changed. Welp, those that were going had no choice to leave and hop on the bus for their tour...only to find out, the snorkeling part was cancelled, but they could do the boat ride if they wanted. Since snorkeling was their main reason for going, they decided to cancel. It would have been great to know this before hand. The refunds were processed pretty promptly and we were grateful for that, but it's a shame there wasn't much communication that wasted time (and money) that could have used for something else both times.

There was free parking before arriving but the small fee at Cancun Bay resort was WELL worth the hassle of parking further and walking. Juanito met us out front and escorted us to the check in desk. We showed out prepaid receipt but still had to pay the $15 per person marina fee (which was advised prior to arrival). We all received a sealed snorkeling snorkel and Jose passed out the Mask to all that needed. Jose and Juanito were super! While on the Jungle Tour one of our boats lost power after we arrived at our diving spot. Jose called for a replacement boat and they switched boats before we had finished snorkeling. It was a bummer at first but Jose handled very quickly. I would recommend this tour for families and first time snorkelers. You get about 45 minutes of snorkeling and about 45 minutes of a great boat Tour. Back at the Marina all employees had on mask, social distanced, hand sanitizer and the bathrooms (banos) were clean and in great shape!!! There was a bar and restaurant but we didn't patronize. They also have locked lockers to rent for a very small fee and there is a free area storage on each boat that will hold a standard tote bag.

They provided us with refreshments and made us fresh fish ceviche. We spent the day cruising, and sightseeing then swimming in clear waters and snorkeling. It was an amazing time that we will never forget!
