Small hill near the beach. Bungee Jump and other actions happens here... After done with Langosta beach, we headed towards Tortugas beach. It is 2 km far from Langosta beach towards south and more knowns for Isla Mujeres ferry and Bungee Jumping. While entering the beach, lots of restaurant staff will bother you to use their service. As this is a very small beach with one small hill, not much area to explore, we decided to sit in one restaurant. I am not sure of even name of the restaurant. we ordered their mango margarita, local beer and their catch of the day fish. Fish was great and so was their mango margarita. Beach- as I said, there is not much are to explore, I was wondering why people even swimming on this beach with so less space. There was one pier where bungee jumping was happening. Also, Isla Mujeres ferry departs from here. Can come for actions but not for a swim.

Playa Tortuga is one of the really nice beaches in Cancun. Not as nice as the beach in Isla Mujeres, but you get some of that nice clear blue water. On one side you have the local beach with an amazing restaurant that we had the pleasure of eating called, Restaurante familiar playa Tortuga, which I highly recommended and to the other side you have all the resorts. You can go either side no one owns the beaches here. Only thing is you can't use the beach resorts' beach chairs or facilities. In the local side you have people that work for the local restaurants who will rent you chairs, table and umbrella if you wish to do so. If not you can do what we did and bring your backpack with your beach gear and find a spot. I recommend you walk towards the resort and find a spot. The local hang out is loud and it gets pretty packed. The resort side is a little more quiet and spread out, but you will hit a-lot of rocky areas. We had no problem setting up our port by some rocks. Our main goal was to enjoy the water and people watch as they took about a million selfies, lol.

Playa Tortuga (Turtle Beach), I did not see any turtles, btw. Its very beautiful. There are a few bars that serve strong drinks, that were delicious. People jump from the tower in the picture that is behind my sister, not us. You catch the bus from your hotel, which cost less than 1 US dollar, (I believe 12 or 13 pesos), Playa Tortuga is where you catch the ferry to Isla Mujeres.

Although the hotel is little old and not as much activities like the other hotel offers we definitely have a wonderful experience and we love that our room is located just outside of the pool and beach area . They also have a convenience store which was nice and we can buy eggs, bacon, bread etc for our breakfast. The room has a good size kitchen, stove top, microwave , toaster and kitchen utensil which was very good for us since my son likes simple things and we can easily make it and less expensive ad well:) One thing I like most also is because of our room location we can just have breakfast in our balcony and see the pool and the ocean and walk while see my son in the balcony which is amazing! Today is our last day but we are definitely coming back to Cancun. The one thing we don't like so much is the pillows and the bed little hard it hurts our neck. Other than that we had a great vacation :)

Breakfast buffet was included which was amazing. The down side is that the hotel faces north. It blocks its own sunshine. So the pool doesn't get any sunshine until about 11am and then it's in the shadow from 4:30pm onwards. The beach outside the hotel is very shallow. The water will reach your knees for quite some distance until there's a drop. I'm not sure if this is naturally occurring or man made. It is also far from the other hotels where they typically provide water sports (jet skis, parasailing etc). They provide airport transportation at 350 pesos per trip. This is much cheaper than hiring a private car.

Exactly how a beach on your vacation should be!…read more Two words: Tranquil & quiet! If you truly like quiet beaches that are peaceful and away from crowds, head here. Xcacelito is a sanctuary and beach for nesting turtles which is open to the public. The entrance 'fee' is a donation. The beach is breathtaking and one of a kind! The water was warm, pristine and crystal clear. You will not find a lot of folk here all at one time, which is a good thing. You practically feel like you're on a private beach that you own. I couldn't find anything wrong with this destination, except that the beach closes at 4pm and doesn't have much shade. We got here around 1pm. Next time, I would come earlier in the day (it opens at 10) and bring an umbrella but the few hours we spent here was amazing and this was the best beach of the trip. The only thing missing was booze and food. The only food allowed is fruit and water but that is all you really need I guess. Another highlight with this destination, is that It is very close to Dos Ojos Cenote so you can go to both places for a fun day trip. After your Ocean bath, you can enjoy a fresh-water-dip in a beautiful cenote (fresh water sinkhole) situated in the middle of the forest. That is what we did and it made for a perfect ending to our trip. In all, a top quality beach experience. No vendors, no crowds, and no hassles. Definitely leave Playa del Carmen and come here for a beach day. For the nature-lovers out there, this beach and sanctuary is paradise! Tips, Bearings & Points of Interest to keep in mine: * The North end is sheltered for turtle nesting and you will find the coral reefs here perfect for snorkeling. Lots of fish and sea-life to see. * The South end you will find the Cenote and cannot miss the signs.

All I can say about the people that were at the beach was that they were *interesting. The beach also had a lot of seaweed on it. This is not the beach where you want to be if you're visiting Cancun. My fav beach in Cancun... long and wide strip of white powdered and cool sand post card scene…read more.. Right behind Plaza Forum Shopping Mall, at Kilometer 9.5 of Cancun's Hotel Zone lies Gaviota Azul Beach. It is one of the favorite beaches for tourists due to its long and wide strip of white powdered and cool sand as well as the many bars and beach clubs around it. In Cancun, I have been to 8-9 beaches from north to south and found this beach very beautiful. I had been to Playa Norte but due to storm reef-seaweed was all over the shore so could not enjoy there. And I found this beach next to Playa Norte. It is right behind the Hard-rock café-coco bongo nightclubs. You can go inside the water and still you 'll find yourself till waist height. There is one small hill and you can have perfect postcard picture from here with turquoise beach, building, sun and sand. Vendors are there to rent you out reclining chairs and umbrellas for 200-300 pesos. It gets pretty crowded during Spring Break as many events take place on it. Even though most of the time the water is calm, when the wind blows hard the waves get pretty big; an opportunity not missed by local surfers. As this is in the hotel zone, you 'll have to find an access point. Right down to coco bongo signboard, you can find small street going towards the beach. Take that. We found it that good, we even came In the evening to sit on the hill. Breezy wind, waves, sunset, making the time more beautiful. If this beach is not better than not even less than Playa Norte beach.

The view is breathtaking, the service from the staff is superb, the weather is perfect, the gentle breeze is very relaxing, the swim up bar is part of the all-inclusive price with premium liqour included, and the food by the pool is very tasty as well. AYCD and AYCE by the pool, cant get better than that, and if that isnt enough, theres a buffet located right next to the pool. Yup, I never want to leave this place. In fact, Im actually writing my Yelp Review as Im laying in one of the pool chairs, while sipping on a Black Label and Coke. I was sitting out in the patio area when it was raining and even that view was gorgeous. You can order drinks, food and anything you want from any of the restaurants. They have a menu for the pool deck but you can basically ask them whatever you want and they will make it happen. The view from upstairs is beautiful too because you can see the layers of two infinity pools with palm trees in the back. I've seen this at Amankila in Bali but it's a different feel. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Cancun.
