We had to do research before booking an excursion when we went on a cruise. This was one of the places that was offered and we went for it hoping for the best. It turned out wonderful! After we got off at the cruise terminal, the tour guide met us at the meeting spot for the excursion. We had to sign a waiver while we were waiting, which I don't understand why we couldn't have done it on the cruise to begin with to save a lot of time. Our group were separated by sections and we were able to enjoy a taxi bus ride on the way to Chankanaab. We signed up for a time to go in the water with the manatees. While we were waiting, we were able to enjoy the pool with the open bar. Seeing and having pictures taken by the photographers with the manatees is a must. You are not allowed to bring your own cameras into the water. They provided life jackets and we were able to see the dolphins as well. The excursion included a lunch at one of the three places that we were able to go to in the plaza that was next to the pool. We went to Big Fish and was able to enjoy a Mexican buffet. There was a sea lion show we went after lunch and it was entertaining. The one last dip in the pool with more drinks to fill up was a nice ending to the day.

Did some research before the cruise and was debating between snorkeling here or money bar. Ended up choosing this spot because it advertised zip lining, sandy beach, botanical garden and more. When we got off the cruise there were tons of vendors trying to sell us tickets. Even the taxi drivers tried but we decided to buy tickets at the entrance. Taxis are $5 pp. It's about 15-20 minutes from downtown. Vendors tried to sell us tickets again but we ended up walking up to the booth and a guy came by to help us. We were able to bargain the price a bit. He handed us to another man who lead us to the beach lounge chair area. We brough our own gear and we were able to get free life vest (they keep your id until you return it). The ocean is so salty so we were super bouyant. You wouldn't even need the jacket. There were fish but not a big variety and they were clustered in sereval spots. Water is clear but overall same same most of the area. So don't expect much in terms of snorkeling. Water temp is nice in beginning of April. Shower and bathrooms were clean. Botanical garden is like a small forest with some trees. No flowers. I spotted a big iguana. Sea lion show was short and entertaining. All in all a good way to spend several hours off the ship. Linda's snack bar- We were lead to this area by the man at the entrance. Apparently there are several food stalls and where you end up sitting is where you end up eating/drinking. Server was super attentive and kept coming by to ask if we wanted to order more. Lots of chairs and hut like umbrellas for shade. Their hammocks as located set back from the beachfront by the restrooms. There are outdoor showers. At the beach you can walk down the stairs to the corals and snorkel. We ordered: Beef tacos: carne was much better than the place in costa maya. Beef nachos: 5/5 big portions, chips piled high with real melted cheese (not nacho cheese), beans, guacamole and meat. Very good! Chicken nachos: 5/5 just like above but with diced chicken. Several buckets of beers: comes with a plate of chips and salsa. Other alcohol.

3/6/2026: We visited CBAP during our cruise on a snorkeling excursion. The park itself is pretty with the lush trees. The only thing I hate is they offer swimming with the dolphins. I don't understand how this still goes on and people are not educated enough to understand this is an awful activity. I went low for my review since this is something that deeply troubles me and it is a reason I will never go back until they end this activity. I think they have manatee encounters as well. They need to end ALL animals activities like this. I read an article stating that Mexico is supposed to be banning these activities. This needs to happen soon! Honestly, if I had not already paid for the excursion, I would have left the park immediately after seeing the swim with dolphins sign. It makes me so sad. End of rant for my finned friends. As for the park, if you are doing a snorkel or scuba diving excursion, just know you will be guided to a beach area with waiters asking every 2 minutes if you want a drink. I understand they make a living doing this, but I felt pressured. Not that I gave into it, but the pressure made me feel uncomfortable and then I felt bad for the staff. I just wanted to relax. The last time the waiter came to my chair, he started speaking Spanish and I just nodded and smiled. These types of reviews are difficult to do because I want to be honest and informative, but I'm sure it reads rudely. Please keep in mind this review is only for the park. It has nothing to do with the excursion guides. The trails are shaded. The beach was clean. They have several vendors selling souvenirs. They also have a tequila tasting stand. The bathrooms need attention. We went in March and it was super hot. How anyone does this in July is beyond me. There is no ventilation in the restroom and it is very dark. No hooks to hang your items on while you change. This seems to be a common trend throughout Mexico. At least they had toilet seats. Costa Maya did not. Chankanaab boasts about being a eco-archaeological park and nature reserve. While it contains lush tropical gardens that a very pretty, I was expecting more from a nature reserve. I chose my excursion based on the hopes of seeing beauty and appreciate for marine life. I was sadly disappointed. To CBAP, go tell those dolphins and manatees why they have to live in a tiny unnatural tank instead of their natural habitat that borders their tiny unnatural tank. To the people possibly considering CBAP, do your research. There are plenty of places that do better with their space and truly uphold the beauty and wonder of this God given planet. I would have given this place 2 stars if not for the dolphins who have no voice to protest.

The whole experience was wonderful! I did the manatees swim and it was so cool!!! Loved the interaction! The dolphins looked great also but I've come that many times so wanted something different. The whole park is beautiful with lots of cool sights! The lagoon was stunning, the water and snorkeling great. The food at the buffet was delicious! Better than our resort! The ruins were gorgeous. I'm between 4-5 stars because of the pricing which was inconsistent and everything added up quickly! That said, I expected that. But I did purchase the digital photos on advance and they included a free ride back to my hotel and a free buffet so that made it a better deal for sure and I was really excited to have all the photos when we were done so I definitely recommend that option! I did hear some people say that their Manatee ticket included admission to the park but since I did not purchase a ticket in advance I paid separately! I would absolutely recommend stopping here. I made the most wonderful friends on the excursion that I hope will be friends for life! And Christian our server in the buffet was wonderful!

    Exchange rate at the restaurant
    Cham T.

Then they're trying to say the exchange rate is 23 per USA dollars. The current exchange rate is 18. He's like it's right here. Then I'm like, why is it not on your menu? Your can write that everyday. That's low-key manipulation and plus you don't even say it . I was like fine then I'm not leaving a tip and they got mad and " I service you. It's not my fault" So my 2 coconut drink, and a taco should be $35 or around 628 pesos. They charge me 805 pesos $44.85. Even the food is expensive. 3 chicken tacos are $15 USA dollars. Yeah watch out for the restaurants here.

Pepe was absolutely the best. We swam with manatees, laid out by the pool and also had the food. Delicious! (we were on the Royal Caribbean cruise) We also saw a sea lion show

What a fantastic place to spend the day. Departing for the cruise port we shared a ride and only paid $6 each. The entry was not bad to get in. They have many options such as a swim with dolphin, manatees, or with a snorkel guide. You can also choose to pay for all inclusive food at the buffet. We just paid the minimum and enjoyed the views and snorkeling. Everything was clean and the staff was so friendly. They were ready and available to grab us anything we needed. Oh, and did I mention the fish... WOW! I very much enjoyed seeing them. We will be back soon!

This is a decent spot when visiting Cozemel. It is about a $20 cab ride from the cruise port and only took about 10 minutes to get to. We had the VIP dolphin excursion which include admission to the park, swimming with the dolphins, all you can eat lunch, and unlimited drinks. Yes the drinks were watered down, but its free booze, so hey. We added on the photo package which included all the photos with the dolphin, including a family photo, time to swim with a manatee and a cab ride back to the port. It also include done photo with the sea lion that you take after the one of the few sea lion shows. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. My family enjoyed the time that we spent there. The dolphin swim lasted about 25 minutes and the manatee portion was very quick and lasted about 5. they just lined everyone up in one of the water pins and walked a manatee up and down the line. There were no pictures for that experience. They offer free lockers to secure your stuff. The trick with them though is getting them to work. You will find cubbies on the deck by the dolphin bins where you can store your shoes, because you will definitely need them to walk down there because the deck is hot, has nailheads sticking up, and lots of splinters that are ready to introduce themselves to your foot. The park has a nice pool with a swim up open bar. There is also a beach area there with sun chairs. I had no problem getting a chair. If you are doing one of the swims be sure to schedule it around the sea lion show. There are only two of those shows. One major thing that they need to fix ASAP is their boardwalk. It is in bad shape and you should defiently wear shoes when walking on it. Not just because it gets hot, but because of splinters. The place also offers a little gift market of sorts, where they have vendors selling goods and souvenirs. You will also find an ice cream vender (extra cost) here as well. The sea lion show last about 10 minutes and they also offer sea lion swims as well. Other excurinosn include scuba diving. The lunch buffet is ok. Nothing special, but I was not expecting much. They had some pasta, some potatoes, salads, nacho chips, and fajitas. If you are on a cruise ship and planning on doing this excursion I highly recommend checking the ships price for the excursion against the price of booking it on your own. I ended up saving a few hundred dollars booking the excursion on my on and was on my own time doing so. One they to keep in mind while you are there is that this is a tourist trap and they will try to up sell you for every little thing from otther activities, to photo packages, to additional pictures to souvenirs. After all, they are there to make money. All in all, we had a good time, I highly recommend checking this spot out if you get the chance. There is a lot to do there and everything is included.

Chankanaab was a beautiful place. We went there for the Royal Swim with the dolphins which was said to include the lockers and lunch. We sadly had to leave for our next excursion before we got to eat. But would have loved to have tried it out. It looked like there would have been enough to do for the whole day if we had had the time. There is a swimming area, the dolphin interaction, heard there is an area to snorkel which is beautiful, and more. Taxis sit outside in the parking lot so it can be easy for tourists to get where they need to go. Be sure to ask at port how much they are supposed to charge you otherwise they may overcharge you was what we were told at port. Very clean. Friendly and helpful staff.

Picked the all day all inclusive with my excursion through NCL. We honestly had a great time, if you want a nice beach day or drinks by the pool it was really nice. All the staff was very kind, we enjoyed the tequila tasting but it sure came back to bite us but try the margarita in the tequila village, fair price for the experience. Would definitely come back next time we are in Cozumel.

We had a lot of fun here, we went diving and our guide was the best ever. He gave us all of our photos for the price of the SD card. We didn't get any food, and came later in the day so the beach was pretty empty. We also did a tequila tasting which is quite good.

I would give this company 0 stars if I could. Booking directly on the Chankanaab website led us to missing our VIP Royal Dolphin swim which was supposed to be my young children's' Christmas present. We thought we were booking directly with Chankanaab since we were on their website. Turns out Cozumel Adventures was booking on their behalf. We were told and confirmed that for an extra fee they would pick us up at the Hard Rock Cafe and bring us to Chankanaab. The morning of they were confused by this and tried to dispute it even though we had all the details in their email. Our reservation was for 10am we ended up getting a taxi and making our way to Chankanaab. We arrived at the front gates at 9:50 by the time we checked in at the front and made our way to the dolphin check in counter it was 10:10. The Chankanaab employees informed us we had missed our dolphin swim time and we would need to talk to Cristian with Cozumel Adventures since they handled our booking. Again, we had thought we booked directly with Chankanaab. Cristian arrived and was absolutely no help. His only offer was for free snorkel gear rental. We had our own and didn't need that. My children are 5 and 7 and he ruined their vacation and dreams. Book with this company at your own risk. There was another family there as well that booked through Cozumel Adventures that also was having a horrible time and problems. Seems like everyone was having a great time EXCEPT the people who booked through this company.

Everyone was friendly. We did a scuba excursion with shop#7. I'm not a great swim so they gave great instructions and stay with me til I felt comfortable swimming on my on. We will definitely go back with this guy when we return to Cozumel. You can order food, drink, and have it deliver to you. Restrooms and showers are available to change clothes. Enjoy!

I have been to Paradise Beach before and understand how the all-inclusive package works, including the alcohol service. My concern is not that alcohol is available -- my concern is what happens when guests are drinking to the point that their safety may be compromised. My 25-year-old daughter is currently visiting Paradise Beach with her boyfriend and a female friend. Based on videos posted online, they were taking shots and participating in the "rainbow" drink challenge over approximately five hours. In the videos, they appeared severely intoxicated. They were impaired to the point that I was genuinely concerned they may not have been able to make safe decisions for themselves, especially while in another country and participating in activities such as water excursions. A person who is extremely intoxicated around water or in an unfamiliar environment can be at serious risk of injury or even death. This is not a minor concern. What concerns me even more is how my safety concern was handled by the manager, Manuel. I called the beach club because I was frightened for my daughter's safety and wanted someone on-site to be aware of the situation. Instead of listening, showing concern, or acknowledging the seriousness of the situation, Manuel was rude, dismissive, and told me that I am her mother and she is my responsibility and can drink as much as she wants. That response was extremely disappointing. I understand that adults are responsible for their own choices, but an establishment that promotes unlimited alcohol also has a responsibility to recognize when a guest may be dangerously impaired and vulnerable. A manager's response to a legitimate safety concern should be compassion, professionalism, and a willingness to help -- not dismissal. At the time of writing this, I do not even know whether my daughter made it safely back to the cruise ship, and I am left worried about her well-being. Paradise Beach needs to review both its alcohol service practices and the behavior and training of its management staff. The issue here is not simply that someone drank too much -- the issue is that a safety concern was raised and was not taken seriously by the person responsible for managing the facility.

Our family had one of the most amazing days to kick off our summer vacation. This was our first time to the park and I must it is massive! So much to do so be sure to arrive early and plan your day tactfully to take advantage of all they have to see and offer. 2 days definitely recommended if you are wanting to experience everything and not have to be too crammed or rushed. The underground river circuit was amazing and so much to see along the float. My only "quejo" or "complaint" is that they should monitor how many people are in at a certain time as sometimes you can be jammed packed in narrow areas. The food at the Oaxaca restaurant was definitely on point with a wide variety of food choices from vegan to bbq to salad to dessert. They have everything you could ever want to try while in the Mayan Riviera. You gotta try the cochinita pilbil. The Mexico Extravaganza Show was hands down one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life and that says a lot because I have seen a lot of shows in my life so far. The culture and musical growth displayed from various regions of the country. I would recommend you arrive early to try and get a good seat in the theatre and be sure you know it is an open air theatre with a roof so it can get warm. Once seated you can then go to the bar or snack / concessions below. Definitely invest in the photo package as there are so many photo spots and it saves you from wondering if you got a great shot for your trip that day. Xcaret Plus is what we purchased which includes the all day pass to the park, one admission to the buffet or a restaurant on site (Cocktails / Alcoholic drinks not included). We drove ourselves to the park but they do offer hotel pick up and drop for your convenience. Getting and out is easy. They speak many different languages so rest easy knowing that you have help if needed or have questions. You can purchase the $15 day pass to access the beach. There was another package that included food, but it seemed unnecessary since we didn't plan on staying too long. My goal was getting a spot where the kids can play with sand. The weather had been iffy too. It was raining on the taxi ride there, but thankfully it let up by the time we walked to the beach area. Once we arrived, we did have to pay $6 for an umbrella to use with our beach chairs. The umbrella kept closing so we had to get somebody to keep opening it back up. Finally, they told us they had to close the beach umbrellas for 30 minutes due to the wind that was coming. That was my sign to leave since it had already poured on our way there. The bathrooms are located to the left of the open buffet area. They have a feet washing area in front of the bathroom. There are two entrances. The left is for the toilets and the right is for the showers. Inside the shower area they have the baby change table. The beach area itself was clean and well maintained. Once you get there, keep going all the way inside. There were will be stores and excursions you can purchase. The ticket area to show you paid and to get your wristband will be on the left. We purchased a sand bucket that came with a toy from a store there for $10. They offer fun inflatables in the water for the older kids and banana boat rides. We apparently had a server who was helping our area. The gentleman who served us was friendly and attentive. My little one was thrilled to have chicken wings. We asked for the sauce on the side and the wings were crispy. We also tried the fajitas and they were pretty good. The salsa had a nice kick. I would definitely skip on the bean and cheese nachos! Overall, it was a great, affordable way to enjoy some time at the beach without committing to a full day excursion. I'd recommend this for anyone looking for a low-key, budget-friendly beach day with the kids.

Because of that I was fairly confident Playa Mia would not be overly full and I turned out to be correct. We picked this beach park because it was the only one that didn't nickel-and-dime you on every little add-on: for example the obstacle course/water park is included with the all-inclusive package we bought. As I mentioned, we did get the all-inclusive package including travel. Some of the other guests were not on all-inclusive visit and most opted for their own travel. Having already been once, next time I may handle travel myself as I am an experienced traveler and the taxi's were very friendly, however with a young one in tow I must say the friendliness and helpfulness of the people who met us and arranged our travel in both directions was amazing and I absolutely do not regret paying a little extra for the included travel. Ultimately they did just put us in a taxi that they paid for but they met us super close to the boat exit and walked us all the way to the taxi stand and dealt with telling him where to go, etc. That was nice while we dealt with our hyped up kids in a new environment. I can't speak to the non all-inclusive experience but if you don't plan to drink a lot (including water/soft drinks for the kids) I think it can be a bargain. However, with the full package we bought, the only thing I ended up paying for was a deposit on the towels that we ultimately got back. I did tip our server (Alberto was awesome) decently well because of how much work he did during the almost full day we were there - so tipping is an additional expense that happens in any kind of place like this. One note, I did go for the top level all-inclusive package and with that the adults got a Tequila tasting and the kids got a chocolate tasting. Obviously the intent of these is to sell some goods but don't skip out on these if you get them - both tastings were delicious and even though we never buy anything at these things, in retrospect we still wish we had picked up some coffee Tequila. Because the day we visited wasn't super crowded, we had such a great time. The facilities are on the older side and the landscaping isn't perfectly manicured but it's on a beautiful beach and there was at least a little something for everyone: from 5 years old to 40. If it were considerably busier, that might pose an issue but they have a lot of room for people to spread out so except for the buffet being busy, I think it would take a lot of people for it to ruin your day.

If anyone wants to visit a dying water park, this is it!…read more More than half of the attractions were closed on a Saturday in June. It looked like there wasn't anywhere near enough staff to open the rides. All of Aaahventura was closed the entire day except for the zip line for 1 hour. They'll tell you to keep coming back later in the day (4pm) so they can get one large group in, then shut the ride down again. All of the large water slides were closed. I've never seen an empty lazy river in the middle of summer until I came here. You have to rent inner tubes for $150 MXN so anyone who ventured in there just swam it and ignored all the signs saying not to do that. The lifeguard was cool about it. Don't waste your time at this park unless you're getting free tickets and you can drive out of there once you've had enough!

Lockers are $11 for a medium size! Tubes for the lazy river are $9. We thought we were getting a ticket that included everything, but they figure out ways to get you to spend a lot more. Half the rides were closed. The zip lining was cool but only opened for a few hours. So you had to plan between that and the water park. The lines were short, so that was cool too.

Like all the other reviews say, it was a little run down... and pretty dead. There were not a lot of options for the slides, and we went through it basically the first hour. We went because we basically had to in order to get in to the Dolphin swim activity. It came with a package we purchased from the hotel using our resort credits. The price itself, I guess since we used resort credits and we got admission to both wet n wild and dolphin swim, it wasn't too bad, so I wouldn't know what the real price is for getting in here by itself. Also, it comes with lunch, but the lunch itself was really bleh. I guess my expectation at the time was really high because of the Sun Palace food that we've been getting, so it's not necessarily a fair comparison. So yes, basically after our dolphin swim was over which was at 2 pm, we took a taxi and left the park right away. Didn't care that there was a bus that was coming to pick us up at around 430pm. Sad to say, my time was better spent in the hotel napping and lounging rather than in this park.

After a 30 minute boat ride to the park located right on the beach, we arrived to see seaweed piled on the beach, giving a terrible sewage like smell throughout the entire park. There are only 3 main slides, a wave pool, and a lazy river. The park opens at 10am but the only thing open was the wave pool. Everything else opened 10:30 and later. From booking with Moon Palace, a voucher for 3 drinks and 1 meal were included. Meal choices included tacos, pizza, or burgers. Out of everything I think the burgers were the best however food is only barely edible. I thought other reviews were over exaggerating, but they are true. Birds are flying everywhere around the park trying to pick at the food, even from the trash can. Bird poop is all over the lounge chairs. And metal is rusty everywhere. You get through all the activities in the first hour in the park and then you wait around for the boat to take you back to your resort. I would give this place zero stars if I could. One star for the 3 free alcoholic drinks I had to bare with this place.

There were some experiences that she was not allowed to do (which the age limit was NEVER communicated to us). So we then told the trainer that my husband and I will pass on some of the dolphin tricks to allocate that time for our daughter instead to repeat some of the dolphin interaction that she can participate on. The trainer said yes but didn't do any of that. All of this was communicated in clear Spanish so there was no "lost in translation". We ended up paying to see the dolphin interact with the other family that was in our group. We complained and was rudely told that we can file a report (that we all know goes to nowhere) and nothing else can be done. Right after that moment, a family of 8 asked us if the experience was worth it and if they should do it. We said absolutely not. That's all it takes to lose 8 paying customers. Word of mouth from unhappy, disrespected, uncompensated customers. On a different note, we also noticed that our dolphin's nose had a scarred nose that looked like a result from their tricks (that we took a pass on). One of the trick is the dolphin pushes your entire body with a boogie board with the base of your feet using the tip of his nose. A lot of tension and weight for this animal to do - everyday at every hour.

The pools are great and the lazy river was a ton of fun for the kids. There are so many options of things to do both inside and outside of the resort. One of my favorite things is that activities just kept coming to us! There's water Zumba and a water fitness class. There's a fun competitive sport in the pool every single day. They set up a really cool obstacle course in the pool for kids. We had a dance party, a foam party, and most importantly for the adults - a swim up bar with bar tenders that made excellent margaritas, daquiris, pina coladas and caipirihnas. The staff here were super friendly and that goes for every part of the hotel. The service at the restaurants. the towel person, the entertainment. Everyone was friendly and attentive to our kids and to the adults in our party. The only negative I would say is the food. But honestly, Ive never had good food at an all inclusive resort so thats just something that is par for the course. There's a grill where you can request freshly grilled meats and fish, and if you stick to that, you'll be good. Otherwise, it was all subpar food. I didnt take a star away because I dont expect food to be good at a resort, and this is based on my experience. how relaxing it felt, how much fun the kids had. the cleanliness of the beach and pool and resort in general. the fun and entertainment, and of course, the well made and delicious drinks. A 5 star experience all around. We will definitely be back!

My concern is not with the hotel itself, but with how IHG and Iberostar handled my request. I contacted IHG and Iberostar in good faith to resolve a pricing issue and was hoping for reasonable customer service. Instead, I was met with inflexible policies and no willingness to work toward a fair solution. I expected IHG to value customer loyalty and make a genuine effort to resolve the situation. I am simply requesting one of two reasonable resolutions: * Honor the rate that was available so I can keep my reservation, or * Allow me to cancel my reservation without penalty so I can rebook at the lower available rate. Neither option is unreasonable, yet I was told neither could be accommodated. This experience has left me frustrated and disappointed with IHG's commitment to customer satisfaction. I hope IHG reviews this matter and empowers its customer service team to resolve situations like this fairly. I would appreciate a response from someone with the authority to honor the lower rate or waive the cancellation penalty so I can rebook. Doing so would restore my confidence in IHG and demonstrate that the company stands behind its commitment to customer service.
