STILL PISSED Did a job for us a couple of years ago. Blamed us because they claimed they bid low and were losing money. Never finished the job. Left my back yard looking like a construction site and now , 2 years later, NOTHING THAT THEY DID DO WORKS!! I have spent THOUSANDS mopping up their mess. Mike's a nice guy but bites off more than he can chew and left us with a mess!!!! read more

The whole house was clogged and nothing would flush and sinks were full of water . I looked up plumbers in Whittier and found All Referral plumbing. After the call they came out like in 30 minutes or so . Mike came out and looked around the house and did his thing while I waited to see what was going on . He said he would have to snake it to clear the line , which was fine with me , I just wanted everything back to normal ! After snaking he said that there was something he couldn't get through so he suggested to run a camera . After he ran the camera he showed me what the stoppage was , ROOTS !! From a tree I have in my front yard .. He mentioned the snake wouldn't be able to get rid of the roots and we would have to Hydro Jet , which is a high powered machine . I told him please do what you have to do to get everything back to normal !! He ended up hydro jetting and cleared all the roots out , he even was nice enough to show me that the ball of roots were completely gone !! Was so happy with his work and professional crew !!! Price was very reasonable too ! Thumbs up !! Thank you Mike !! Next time I know who I'll be calling ! read more

Let me start by saying, I dont have experience in plumbing except for very small projects at home. Last night, found out my water heater took a dump. Having zero experience in changing out a water heater, I went for the plumber call. My normal plumber who I trust and does not over price their work were fully booked and couldn't squeeze me in till next week. Far too long without a hot shower. So I found this company thru Yelp and was glad I did. I read the reviews and liked what I was reading. I also made several calls, including this one, to compare prices. All Referral Plumbing was far the cheapest, thats including Lowe's and Home Depot. And with the positive reviews, I thought not a bad idea. Mike gave me a reasonable price to change out my water heater ($250). Told me his worker Johnny would arrive between certain hours, which he did. The work was quick, friendly and Johnny definitely knew what he was doing. THINGS TO CONSIDER: Buy a water heater before you call any plumber. It'll be cheaper. Make sure you have all your parts that you need too. Plumber will charge you alot more than they are worth. The reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I was going to be charged $50 for each supply line (hot/cold). I told him I would go get the supplies for him. I drove to Lowes and bought 2 lines at $15 each. 30 is cheaper than 100. Johnny told me what else I needed and I got it. All in all, it was a learning experience. Come to find out, I learned I could've did all this work myself and save me $250. With a lil help from YouTube. After everything, I am pleased with the work Johnny did and with the services. I would definitely call All Referral Plumbing again if my original plumber is unavailable. Thanks for the great services Mike read more

My water heater light went out and I couldn't restart it. It was late Sunday evening the day before labor day. I didn't think I'd be able to get anyone to come. And if I found someone, they'd charge me an emergency fee or something. I called a few places and all I got was an answering machine. Then I called All Referral Plumbing. He answered right away, we discussed the issue. He asked me to send him a photo of the unit and he knew what the problem was. He quoted me over the phone and he said he'd be there in about 45 minutes. I was happy to see him on time and he quoted me a lot less than the other plumbing guy did the last time this happened. He was nice, professional and he got the job done quickly. Thanks for being there when I needed you and giving awesome service! read more

I called these guys on behalf of our office when our main pipe line became backed up. It ended up costing us 4 figures to get our plumbing up and running again. I'm not qualified to say whether or not they were fair on that front. I do have the following critiques though: - The work was done over a few days. Each time they designated a time that they would arrive to work here they showed up at least 15 minutes late. - The repair guys would routinely leave to visit other job sites and deal with personal matters. This significantly increased the amount of time we were without restrooms. - They were not forthright on costs and things added up fairly quickly. - They were unprofessional in a number of ways including having the child of one of the repair guys on-site. read more

Before I even review Mike and his amazing job, I just want to explain something to you guys. As a homeowner or a renter, its always important to know that things will breakdown eventually over time. Not all of us are experts, but this is why we have professionals in fields to which people just excel at no matter what and truly give their time, life and dedication to the work they do. And this is exactly who Mike is.. As I was saying, Im no plumber nor am I best handyman in the world but ive learned its a experience for some of us. Just this week our water heater finally gave out and it was slowly leaking. I did the best I could to patch it and get it drained so I could install the new water heater..Unfortunately due to my lack of experience and some complications with how the unit is installed in my house, it got to the point where I figured it was just better to have someone help me, guide me, explain and perform the job correctly and this is where Mike comes into play like a real superhero. We called him last night around 8:30pm and explained our situation and he promptly arrived within 5 mins (due to being close by my house so that was a lifesaver) he quickly addressed the issues and got to work on removing/installing the old/new water heater immediately! Mike is a very professional individual whos also knowledgeable about his work and it clearly shows. He helped explain everything I was doing right/wrong and showed me how and what to do for future events. The one thing to remember and words of wisdom from Mike is this.. "always change out all your lines to new ones and not just use the current ones"..and the reason for this is that you dont want old parts that are possibly corroded over time to ruin your new equipment so make sure before you just buy the ones you need like the accessories or connections so that it continues to work for a long time! 40-50 minutes later the job was complete and he flew away before I could even thank him enough! His prices are extremely reasonable and there would never be a hesitation from me to pay more for how great of a job he did, especially on a Friday night and being so late! Thanks again Mike and peewee (hope its spelled right) for the help and we will always have your local support and recommendations to everyone we know for any issue.. read more

This review is for Mike Dehoop. I was in a 'JAM', pun intended. My Mother-in-law was visiting because we just had our second child and moved to a new home in La Mirada. Toilets were bubbling, water backing up into the bathtubs and showers :-/ Called Mike on a Saturday morning and he said he could be there in 90 minutes. Almost to the exact minute, Mike showed up fixed the problem and was very friendly and informative about our situation. (he also left Zero mess around our clean-out area). The bubbling came back for just a second a few days later, and so did Mike free of charge and with a smile to make sure everything was cleared in our pipes. And he also looked into an electrical problem I was having at our home, I assume cause he's just a cool dude. Anyways, wish there were more peeps out there like this guy. Thanks Mike! read more

Came out on Tues around 8pm after no other company would answer. Found the problem and explained what was done wrong from the last company and what it would take to fix at less than half the cost BTW. read more

Got a GE water heater from Home Depot few years ago now won't keep a flame. Went to check few places and they don't service them because of class action law suit. One company quoted $400 to fix but then yelp showed me to Mike from All Referral Plumbing. For less than half the competition, Mike fixed it fast and efficiently showing that he has the experience to tackle the job. I will recommend him to friends and neighbors read more

Called them up today for a leaky valve on the toilet and the lady I spoke to was nice and got back to me quickly with a price quote. It seemed high but I asked about a military discount which they gave me. Ok that's good at least. The plumber came and said that the issue was with another valve. Apparently that valve would cost $100 more to fix. Wtf? I asked if he can give me a discount, got 10% but the total cost was still high. I was tired and I just wanted it fixed so I said fine. Bottom line I felt I was overcharged and it only took him 10 mins to complete the work. And he didn't turn the main shutoff valve back all the way open when he finished. Lesson of the day, get at least two quotes (if you have the time, patience, and you don't want to be ripped off). I won't be using them again. read more

SUMMARY: Friday, March 1, 2013, I needed to find a good honest plumber fast. I did my research using Google, Yelp, BBB (Better Business Bureau), and other places on the net and quickly eliminated the bad ones. Two were left standing, I took a chance on one of them. After my potentially very expensive plumbing ordeal was over, I am happy to say, I found a competent, good honest plumber, who answered my numerous questions with patience and honesty during the 2+ hours he was at my house. I would definitely call him in the future and recommend him to anyone. DETAILS: I needed a plumber quick for a clogged drain and major drain leak problem under my house. A big pool of drain water had collected under my house. My mother recommended someone she found in the phone book. I called them, they answered, within seconds they put me on hold or something. I don't know, because they said nothing. NOT PROFESSIONAL!! Then I did what I should have done, ignore their fancy phone book ad and research the company on the net. The result, they had bad reviews and they were going to charge me $75 just to take a look at my problem. TIDBIT 1: Ignore big fancy phone book ads, research the company thoroughly on the net. As mentioned in my summary, I found a plumber. Mike answered my phone call quickly. He was at my house about 30-minutes later. After a preliminary FREE inspection/assessment, he concluded he needed to use an optical video cable to go into the pipes to determine the real problem. I emphasized the FREE, because two other companies I've dealt with just to take a look, charged $35, the other one $95. Mike left, came back, etc. etc. in summary, the optical cable punched through the blockage fixing the clogged drain problem. The optical cable video showed old drain pipes that need replacement in the future, and some insignificant minor tree roots that had penetrated the clay piping portion of the sewer. A major thousands of dollar expense, averted. The leaking drain pipe problem under my house, no longer leaks because the clog pressure is no longer there. In the future, that section will be replaced, but it's not necessary now. I'll monitor the situation. Mike gave me an estimate to replace that section of piping. IT'S MAJORLY SCARY TO ME TO THINK, what if, I went with some other plumber who was incompetent and dishonest!!!! TIDBIT 2: If you have an old house, mine is 1951, on a raised foundation, place thick big plastic sheets under the house, in the crawl space, especially under the old drain pipes. I got lucky, about 7-years ago when I rewired all my telephone lines, I got tired of getting so dirty with the powdery soil, so I placed big plastic sheet down there. Fast-forward, when the drain pipes leaked big-time, big pools of water formed, but on-top of the plastic sheets, not on the soil, so no muddy lakes formed. If I had not placed plastic sheets down there, it could have been a costly major 2+ week clean-up ordeal to drain and dry the soil. TIDBIT 3: With the lakes of water under my house, I needed to drain the water. Since 1) Professionals charge $400+ to do this, and 2) because the water was on-top of plastic sheets, I decided to do-it-myself. Tried wringing a mop, too much water, so I dropped that idea. I bought and tried the water pump you place on a drill. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY!!! I've been wanting to buy a Wet/Dry vacuum cleaner for my garage, etc. So I thought I'd try the Shop Vac (Wet/Dry) that sells at Lowe's. Bought the 6-gal general duty vacuum for a total (with tax) of about $40. Had my fingers MAJORLY crossed.......IT WORKED!!! YIPPY!! I vacuumed up the pools of water, and had to empty the vacuum cleaner at least 4-times. DIY for $40 is way better than $400+. read more

I highly recommend Mike at All Referral Plumbing. In the four times if needed a plumber he is the only one that I've called back for a second repair. He is prompt and accurate with his estimates for arrival time. His repairs have been fixed correctly the first time and have been very reasonable cost wise. Definitely call this guy for your plumbing needs. read more

These guys are awesome. I just bought a House, and learned it has old sewage lines. Not only were they fast to get out to my house for a quote, they offer their services for SIGNIFICANTLY lower than any name brand, leading company. They didn't even wake my baby during her nap. Mike, the owner, is totally cool and down to earth. He's just like the rest of us hard working folks. I couldn't believe he was 5o% cheaper than competitors., and he said the job would take a day and he was finished 2 hrs early! highly recommend this crew. read more

I had a plumbing emergency on Sat night. I called a couple companies without an answer. Then I called all referral plumbing and Mike answered right away. I explained that no water was draining and the bathroom was starting to flood. He told me not to worry and that he would have a technician at my house within 45 to 60 minutes. A nice guy named Paul showed up a little after 45 minutes. He told me this is a very common problem. He ran a snake and fixed it within 30 minutes. I would highly recommend this company. They were very professional and the price was less than I expected! read more

I am so thankful to Mike and his partner. I had a leak and we could't really identify exactly where it was coming from. Her responded to my call that morning and we was very thorough going over every inch of the plumbing system to determine exactly where the leak was coming from. It turns out the water had come from the refrigerator water line that was very loose. I am very satisfied with their service will call them first if I had any issues. read more

These guys are the real deal ! I had been noticing a smell coming from underneath my house. So I called and they had a technician out in about 45 minutes. We had a main break on a Thurs night - Mike came by on Friday at 9am (a few minutes late but nothing to worry about). Quote was a bit lower than other plumbers - work was finished over the next day, Saturday, we enjoyed working with Mike and will use him again. I would gladly refer a friend, small business, not like working with a huge company, seems like an honest and knowledgeable provider. read more

4 Stars and 1/2 ! My toilet was clogged. Denise answered and she was friendly. She said she was going to call back in ten minutes (to check who can come to my place) and she did. The technician Juan arrived 45 minutes later as Denise had promised (within 60 minutes). Not only did Juan unclogged my toilet, but he reset my garbage disposal as well. Juan did not have an invoice for me which somewhat bothered me but according to Mike they were in between moving the office at that time (7/3/2013). However he did email me the invoice (after a couple of phone calls). read more

Mike is definitely the best plumber I have had, PERIOD. Mike and his people went above and beyond to help us figure out what was wrong with our kitchen sink not draining. He told us the most convenient and cheap way to repair it and he did. It been 3 months and everything is perfectly fine, with paying only a fraction of what most plumbers quoted me without any thought doubt Mike is the cheapest and best plumber I have had. Thank you Mike and the all referral crew. If you're looking for an honest, reasonably priced plumber, give Mike a call! He is prompt, knowledgeable, and just overall does a great job. Mike de Hoop is the most honest and communicative plumber i have ever met. He is such a hard worker; he picks up a shovel and doesn't just boss the guys around. Sorry to say I had reviewed this company Oct 1st of last year and gave them 5 stars who would of known a little over a year later I would need them again and wish to retract what I had put regarding this company. So I spoke with mike and informed him what the problem was, and he said I will call you back in 20 min. He never returned my call and since I have used his service before I called him back this was 2 hours later of waiting for him to call me back in 20 min. He answers and apologies and says he can be at my place from 5:30 to 6pm well its 6:30 and no call so I call him again and he says I will be there in 1/2 hour . He finally shows up with his helper and looks at the problem and says he will have to change the entire part and the cost will be approximately $200.00 and will call me back the next day with the exact quote. Well the next day came NO CALL AT ALL FROM MIKE, but I need to thank him because I You Tube the problem and had my cousin come and fix it the part was only 19.00 so with that said do yourself a favor and look for an honest plumber. read more
