The company came with a large team of both male and female workers; it was evident that the team works like a "well oiled machine" as all team members were actively playing a role in ensuring that safety took precedence and that our property was respected and kept tidy. The team members diligently removed the tree parts and debris as soon as the remnants of the trees touched the ground! We received estimates from 12-15 companies, but Aspen had the most competitive price(s)! Ralph is the owner and he was an amazing, dedicated man. He stayed until 7:30 at night to ensure that ALL of the multiple stumps had been grinded down on the same day that the trees had been removed. We would absolutely, without a doubt, hire this company again: if we need additional tree services! Please note that the company willingly shared proof of insurance (Certificate of Insurance) and proof of Worker's Compensation Insurance, which eased our worries as customers! We had a very large spruce tree that had died located near the curb and close to PSEG electrical wires. We called La May for an estimate to remove the tree, cart away the debris, and grind the stump. We were given an estimate. We discussed with LaMay the possibility of PSEG cutting the tree to below the wire line, and LaMay completing the job. Well, PSEG did come, spent two hours cutting the tree below the power line and left the debris on our lawn and that of our neighbor. I notified LaMay that PSEG had cut the tree and left the debris and requested they come to complete the job - cut the trunk of the tree, cart the debris, and grind the stump. I was assured that the original estimate would be modified because PSEG did a big part of the job. Well, it wasn't! LaMay did not like the way PSEG left the debris! They were hoping to sell part of our tree as a telephone pole and now they couldn't! They claimed they sent me a new estimate, which I never received. LaMay did come and competently removed the debris and cut the remainder of the tree trunk. BUT they wanted us to pay the original estimate even though 1/3 of the job was completed by PSEG. After arguing with La May repeatedly, we reluctantly agreed on a price. Rather than accept 2/3 of the original estimate, they wanted more. Will never do business with this company again.

I recently requested a free estimate for a property in East Quogue which required extensive tree…read morework. There were several dead and dying trees, and the remaining trees on the property hadn't been trimmed back for a good 20 years. They were overgrown. Every tree on the property needed work: either removal or extensive pruning (20+ trees). These are tall, mature white oak, pine, and maple trees. I called several tree removal companies for estimates. Santos Hernandez not only promptly called me back within an hour, he scheduled the in person estimate appointment quickly. He gave an extremely fair and competitive quote for the job after meeting me at the property and seeing the scope of work. He promptly emailed the written estimate and certificates of insurance (liability and workers comp) for review after our meeting. He was courteous, knowledgeable and professional, and I immediately felt comfortable. (I can't say that for other companies that I felt were subtly trying to manipulate me). We accepted the quote and the job was scheduled very quickly. The 4 man crew showed up early (by 7:40 am) on the day of service and promptly started at 8 am. They were polite and extremely hard working. They worked the entire day until almost 4 pm and it was a flurry of chain saws, bucket trucks, and stump grinders- a HUGE job. They raked and cleaned up everything. They all were wonderful. You can tell they are experienced in what they do. They removed all the heavy branches overhanging the house. They checked with me as to where they could move a bucket truck during the work. They had to drive onto the lawn at points to be able to get to all the trees (which of course I didn't mind).
